Chapter 1300 - Carriers

Chapter 1300: Carriers

After rushing into the blurry white area, Sheyan instantly felt an extremely strange, but at the same time, extremely painful sensation!

Despite being surrounded by spaceship walls that were tough and thick, his entire being felt like it was being distorted! It was a weird feeling, as if he was split in half at the waist. His lower body still sat quietly on the seat, but his upper body felt like it had been twisted around many times.

This distortion did not only apply to the physical body, but also to the soul.

In just an instant, the exceptionally strong body Sheyan took so much pride in was about to be thoroughly destroyed! Fortunately, before reaching that critical point, the Nightmare Imprint on Sheyan’s chest heated up, and an invisible energy pierced through the distance of uncountable light years and descended onto Sheyan’s body!

It was the overwhelming power belonging to Noah Realm C!!

In the face of such a powerful energy, not only Sheyan, even the whole spaceship shone bright red. Then, the spaceship and its passengers miraculously recovered from the feeling of extreme distortion. Only now did Sheyan understand the shocking destruction resulting from the overlapping and collision of two different planes. No one could describe the despair brought by the destruction, but behind the destruction, there were also countless new hopes springing up like bubbles.

In front of such a magnificent phenomenon which hid a great crisis, the only thing Sheyan could do was wait….

After the fourth in line to the Arnold family seat disappeared from Alps Base 7, the Arnold family certainly would not take things lying down. However, they were absolutely certain that Prince Pombaru was the real culprit behind the incident. To be honest, when Colbert and the elders carefully analysed the whole incident, the layers involved in the schemes and all the events that were so intricately linked to one another gave them a real fright. They felt extremely threatened.

They came to a unanimous decision. The Arnold family had lost the fourth-in-line heir here and were at a disadvantage in all subsequent confrontations. Their fates were now left in the hands of others. If the first-in-line heir and a group of elders met their demise here too, the loss to the family would be even greater. As for demanding justice or something of that ilk, that had to wait for the right circumstances. Have you ever seen anyone who’s able to get a fair deal when the other party is holding a knife to their throat?

So, the Arnold family contingent humbly asked for authorisation to take off and return home several times a day. At least that was still the case when Sheyan left…. No one even dared to say a word about poor Lucio’s disappearance.

After being in the fierce, bumpy turbulence for some time, Sheyan and Old Charlie had already gotten used to the bizarre and fantastic phenomenon.

Old Charlie could not help asking, “Since the process when two planes overlap is so terrifying, how could the Predators travel in and out so easily, as if the overlapping region is their own backyard?”

“There are probably different stages when two planes overlap. It should be more intense in the beginning, and would gradually become smoother over time, which means that both sides should have a certain amount of time to get used to the change. The planes had probably overlapped on the Predator’s side for quite a while now, so the reaction is not that strong anymore,” answered Sheyan after giving it some thought.

While they were talking, the spaceship suddenly got bumpier. There was nothing at all in the space all around them, but the ship still shook violently like a box being dragged down a staircase. Even though there were shock absorption measures in place, Sheyan and Old Charlie still felt like their bones were falling apart.

After a while, the shaking stopped abruptly. Sheyan felt a vast emptiness in front of them. A completely different sensation was transmitted to his body. He felt like a person who went to the rooftop and felt a sudden gust of fresh air on his face after staying in a stuffy office for a long time.

The universe was still the universe, the stars were still so abundant, but there was in irrepressible feeling of incompatibility!

They had appeared among a belt of asteroids. The asteroids, all as big as the moon, were densely distributed, as if they filled the entire world.

Suddenly, there was a burst of light!

An asteroid in front of them exploded violently. It was the kind of terrible destruction where every particle of dust separated from the asteroid from the inside out. Before the strong shockwave had even hit Sheyan’s ship, he already saw a colossal metal spaceship flying over from afar, the muzzle of its gigantic main cannon still emitting smoke. But that was not all. Escorting around the giant spaceship were more than ten swallow-like Wraith spacecrafts, orange flames spitting from their rears. They were moving full speed ahead.

The fleet Sheyan was seeing was evidently the standard Terran combination of Wraiths and the ultimate Terran unit, the Battlecruiser. If there were six transport ships with them, they would form the standard configuration for a base colony.

But for some reason, this powerful Terran fleet felt like it was running away to Sheyan!

Sheyan’s spaceship was still in the process of assimilating into this world, so although they were very close, the Terran fleet did not notice Sheyan.

Less than ten seconds later, a small, strange-looking spacecraft suddenly flew out of the empty space behind the fleet.

The left and right wings of the spacecraft were each loaded with a bulging plasma cannon that looked like bellows, making the cabin in the middle of the spacecraft seemed especially small. The spacecraft was covered in yellow and green stripes, and the engine at its tail spewed blue flame.

On the whole, this small spacecraft did not seem very strong to Sheyan. He thought that a single Wraith could probably take on three of it. But for some reason, it felt like the entire Terran fleet was being driven away by this small, insignificant-looking spacecraft!

“What the hell is happening?” Sheyan was shocked at the sight. Then, he suddenly found strange humming noises coming from all sides even though the surrounding spaces appeared to be empty. The noises superimposed together, so faint yet so grand, as if billions of mosquitoes and flies were flapping their wings.

The Terran fleet changed their formation. The escorting Wraiths suddenly rearranged into a triangle and turned back. During the process, the Wraiths gradually turned invisible, vanishing from sight.

That’s right, it was the unique stealth ability of the Wraiths. Sheyan noticed that in the direction where they had disappeared, an inconspicuous spacecraft was slowly traveling forward.

This spacecraft looked like a satellite launched by humans, but it flew like a heavy, clumsy swallow. It had evidently sensed the hostility of the stealth fighters as it immediately turned around and flew away.

After it fled for about 10 kilometers, Sheyan saw a sight that made felt his scalp go numb! His field of vision was filled by thousands of small spacecrafts which densely populated the space, as if they occupied the entire world!!

In between the gaps of the horrifying number of small spacecrafts, Sheyan could vaguely see some whale-like bodies gliding past. The small spacecrafts flew in and out of the whale-like bodies. Sheyan instantly realised what was happening. This was the most advanced technology of the Protoss race, an Arbiter, and the terrifying Carriers, an insane combination!

This world was dominated by three factions: Terrans, Protoss and Zerg. The Zerg were currently slightly stronger, but their advantage was not overwhelming. Friction would often occur between the three races for the sake of resources.

The last time Sheyan came to this world, he was mainly involved in the fight between the Terrans and the Zerg. This time, he would probably have to face the most mysterious and powerful race in the universe, the Protoss!

The clumsy swallow-like spacecraft was one of the most advanced technologies of the Protoss, the Arbiter!

Its ‘Recall’ spell could teleport an entire Protoss troop from anywhere directly to its current location! It’s ‘Stasis Field’ ability could prevent all enemy units in a 3×3 area from moving, attacking, or using special abilities! Even more frightening was its ‘Cloaking Field’ ability which could render all the units around the Arbiter invisible, except for the Arbiter itself. That was why a moment ago, it seemed to Sheyan like a small spacecraft was scaring away an entire Terran fleet – it was because the rest of the forces were invisible!

Obviously, every Arbiter was a valuable asset to the Protoss. The Wraiths were targeting it because they knew that it must run away, and that would win them some precious time. But as soon as the Protoss anti-stealth unit, the Observer, arrived, the Wraiths were instantly torn into space debris by the angry little spacecrafts launched from the Carriers, the Interceptors!

Seeing this awe-inspiring fleet roaring past him and flying away into the distance, Sheyan broke into a cold sweat despite knowing that they could not see him. The innumerable, densely-packed Interceptors truly resembled a swarm of locusts – ferocious, overwhelming, fearless, devouring everything in their path!!
