He had already finished up his work yesterday, so he didn’t have to go in.

After coming home, he went back to sleep for a bit.

Han Xiaoqing was also off today, and accompanied by Chen Wenxuan, she came to visit her sister’s family.

When Chen Wenxuan heard that Han Xiaorui had gone out to sea, he was very surprised. "The kids are still so young. Does Big Sis really have the heart to leave them?"

Han Xiaoqing disagreed. "My sister is a mother, but she’s also an individual with her own independent spirit. My sister loves the ocean, but between being pregnant, giving birth, and raising the children these past few years, she has been completely focused on them and hasn’t gone out to sea."

"Now that the kids are in kindergarten and there are people to take care of them, my sister doesn’t need to handle every single thing herself. I support her choice to pursue the lifestyle she loves."

She had helped take care of Pingping and An’an back then. The children had a hard time adjusting at first, but with a few more toys and lots of chats, they got used to it quickly.

Besides, her brother-in-law was at home now, and they had Sister Lian.

Wu Yao was already married and lived in her own home, but she came over during the day to work, helping with housework and the kids.

And while Wu Jiao was engaged, she wasn’t married yet, so she still lived here.

So, there was no need to worry at all. They could manage just fine.

Chen Wenxuan smiled. "I’ve already asked Sister Cai to help me find a reliable nanny. After you give birth, she can help you with the baby."

"That way, you can go back to work after your maternity leave ends! And I can help you with the baby in the evenings after I get off work."

Han Xiaoqing nodded. "Of course. You only learn how to truly love a child by raising them yourself. If you don’t take care of them, you won’t know how."

Just then, Ye Feng came down the stairs, buttoning his shirt.

"Xiao Jing, Wenxuan, you two chat. I’m going to pick up the four kids!"

Han Xiaoqing nodded. "Okay, Brother-in-law. Do you need Wenxuan to help?"

Ye Feng smiled. "No need, I’ll drive!"

"They don’t let you park cars near the school!" Han Xiaoqing said.

Ye Feng replied, "I’ll park farther away and wait at the gate! After I get Pingping and An’an, I’ll drive them to the kindergarten and pick up Ningning and Zhuangzhuang too."

"With you here, they probably won’t be running around looking for their mom at lunchtime! I’ll do my best to take good care of the kids so your sister can enjoy her trip without worrying."

Having shared a bed as husband and wife for several years, Ye Feng understood Han Xiaorui completely.

Every time going out to sea was mentioned, Ye Feng could feel his wife Han Xiaorui’s longing and love for the ocean.

If he were to use housework or the children to stop Han Xiaorui from going, it would be like shackling her very soul.

Watching her brother-in-law’s departing figure, Han Xiaoqing couldn’t help but sigh. ’He’s such a good man!’

At that, Chen Wenxuan puffed out his chest. "Xiao Jing, your husband is a good man, too! A good husband now, and I’ll be a good father in the future!"

But just as he finished speaking, the pager on his hip went off.

Chen Wenxuan took it and saw it was a call from his work unit.

’It’s the weekend, what kind of emergency could they have at work?’ Chen Wenxuan frowned slightly.

Han Xiaoqing urged him, "You just started at the research institute. Since they’re looking for you, you should hurry and use the house phone to call them back."

"If it’s an emergency, I won’t be able to stay here with you!" Chen Wenxuan said with a hint of regret.

Han Xiaoqing smiled. "I’m feeling fine, and I’m at my sister’s house. You don’t need to worry about me!"

"If you’re busy with work and can’t make it back tonight, I’ll just stay here. That’ll save you the trip back and forth."

Chen Wenxuan nodded. "Alright then, I’ll call them back first!"

After the call connected, Chen Wenxuan asked, "Director Feng, what can I do for you?"

Director Feng’s voice was urgent. "Comrade Chen Wenxuan, we’ve received an emergency assignment. Please return to the unit immediately."

Chen Wenxuan asked, "What kind of assignment?"

"It’s classified!" Director Feng replied. "During this assignment, you will not be able to return home, and you’ll have to sign a confidentiality agreement. So, explain things to your family, pack a bag, and get over here right away."

Chen Wenxuan hesitated.

Just then, Han Xiaoqing said, "Wenxuan, wasn’t our original reason for coming back after studying abroad to help build our country?"

"This is a time when the Party, the people, and our nation are testing you. You should go without any worries. Just take care of yourself and come back safely."

"As for home, you don’t need to worry about me. My workplace is close by, and my sister and brother-in-law will look after me. Director Feng, Chen Wenxuan is on his way."

On the other end of the line, Director Feng’s heart warmed, and he was deeply moved. "The Party, the country, and the people thank you!"

After hanging up the phone, Chen Wenxuan hugged Han Xiaoqing tightly. "Thank you!"
