Chapter 433 - 432: A Perfect Match
Chapter 433: Chapter 432: A Perfect Match
After the two men exchanged greetings, they didn’t say much more, and it was Huang Yanquan who broke the silence.
"Boss Ding, since we’ve all run into each other, let’s have a meal together."
Yiyi couldn’t help but glance at Huang Yanquan upon hearing this; he really was enthusiastic, still inviting them for a meal, and this time, he even included Uncle Wei in the invitation.
Wei Hanliang also gave Huang Yanquan a look and ultimately agreed, "Okay, then let’s have lunch together."
Ding Yuejun looked at Wei Hanliang with some surprise; she hadn’t expected him to agree, so she felt a bit embarrassed to refuse further and smiled at Huang Yanquan, saying, "Mr. Huang, thank you very much for the invitation; let’s eat at a nearby restaurant."
Upon hearing this, Huang Yanquan smiled, leading the way.
Having spent some time in Shangjing, he had become quite familiar with the city, knowing that there was a rather decent restaurant beside the shopping mall, so he led the group directly there.
Seeing this, Yiyi naturally followed along.
Meanwhile, Wei Hanliang walked beside Ding Yuejun, once again apologizing to her, though because Huang Yanquan was around, he spoke in a quieter tone and leaned in closer.
And this scene was just witnessed by Qu Yiqi, who was standing in a corner; she was surprised by the way her brother-in-law and Ding Yuejun interacted, then a smile appeared in her eyes, and she hurriedly followed them, curious to see where they were going. When she saw them going into the neighboring restaurant, her smile grew.
At this point, she abandoned her plans to buy clothes and went straight home.
When Wei Hanyou saw his wife rushing back, he couldn’t help but ask, "Didn’t you say you were going shopping for clothes with friends? Why did you come back so soon?"
"Oh dear, forget about shopping."
Qu Yiqi waved her hand dismissively and then suddenly remembered she had made plans with someone, so she quickly called her friend.
Upon hearing her friend hadn’t left home yet, she cheerfully said, "That’s great; I have something that came up last minute, so I won’t be going; you should just stay home and rest."
The friend didn’t ask further, and after exchanging a few words, they hung up.
Meanwhile, Wei Hanyou curiously asked his wife, "What happened?"
"Guess who I just saw?"
Seeing his wife’s eager expression, Wei Hanyou raised an eyebrow and asked, "Who did you see?"
"I saw Hanliang and Miss Ding from the Ding Family; they were shopping at the mall."
"Really?"
Wei Hanyou found it hard to believe—he knew his brother well; Hanliang was a workaholic. How could he have time to go shopping with someone?
Seeing her husband so skeptical, Qu Yiqi gave him a pointed look and said, "Would I lie to you? I saw it with my own eyes. I had arranged with a friend to go shopping, but as soon as I reached the mall, I saw them, so I rushed back to tell you."
At this point, Wei Hanyou believed his wife, but still with some curiosity he said, "So you saw them; why did you rush back?"
Seeing her husband’s inability to understand, Qu Yiqi grew anxious, "How can you be so dense? The two of them are surely hitting it off. Hanliang is now divorced, and Miss Ding has long been divorced too. Don’t they make a perfect pair?"
She continued, "A while back, you worried Hanliang would be lonely for the rest of his life and wanted to introduce someone to him. I think Miss Ding is quite suitable. They were connected in their youth, and now, after all these years, they’ve bumped into each other again. Isn’t this fate from above?"
Hearing this from his wife left Wei Hanliang quite surprised, and he seriously pondered over it. Finally, he nodded and said, "The way you put it, they do seem quite compatible."
"Yes, they look great together. Even though Miss Ding isn’t young, she still looks quite beautiful and youthful. People would believe she’s her daughter’s sister. Our Hanliang is also graceful and good-looking, so they are just perfect. You don’t need to look for anyone else; Miss Ding from the Ding Family is the best match."
Wei Hanyou nodded at this and said, "If we could become in-laws with the Ding Family, that would be best. But we need to ask Hanliang about this. If he and Miss Ding feel the same way, then we should help them together."
"Yes, yes. Ask Hanliang properly when he comes back later," Qu Yiqi eagerly nodded.
Meanwhile, Ding Yuejun was unaware of all this as she and Yiyi were busy ordering food. After they finished, they handed the menu to Huang Yanquan, "Mr. Huang, this will be enough."
Huang Yanquan took the menu and reviewed it, then ordered a few more specialty dishes before instructing the waiter to serve.
"Mr. Wei, it’s an honor to dine with you. It’s rare for us all to run into each other; we can consider ourselves friends. Let’s stay in touch in the future."
Earlier, he wasn’t sure why he invited Wei Hanliang along, but on reflection, it might have been because of the notable difference in Ding Yuejun’s attitude towards him compared to Wei Hanliang—it made him feel somewhat uneasy.
They all could be considered Ding Yuejun’s friends, yet she spoke naturally and warmly to Wei Hanliang, and remained somewhat distant towards him.
Wei Hanliang, hearing this from Huang Yanquan, was somewhat taken aback; they’d only met today for the first time, yet he referred to them as friends. But Wei Hanliang merely nodded politely without saying much.
Seeing this, Huang Yanquan didn’t say much either and happily poured a cup of tea for Ding Yuejun, talking about the film crew.
Hearing the filming was progressing smoothly, Ding Yuejun felt somewhat glad, "Director Xiao should be relieved now."
"Yes, Director Xiao has been in good spirits recently, and it’s all thanks to the clothing you provided for the crew."
Upon hearing this, Ding Yuejun smiled and shook her head, "No need to thank me; we’re mutually benefitting."
"If there’s another opportunity in the future, I hope we can collaborate again, Boss Ding."
Upon hearing this from Huang Yanquan, Ding Yuejun naturally smiled and nodded, "Looking forward to it."
As they chatted, the dishes started to arrive, so Huang Yanquan quickly invited everyone to dine.
Yet, Yiyi was not familiar with the others present, so she simply focused on eating without saying a word.
Still, Ding Yuejun worried her daughter might not eat well, and kept serving her food.
"Mom, eat by yourself; don’t worry about me."
Seeing the interaction between mother and daughter, Huang Yanquan remarked, "You two have such a wonderful relationship." In his own family, he’d never experienced such genuine affection; everyone was living for their own interests.
