They just wanted to make Xi Xiaye embarrass herself and show her ugly side to the media to teach her a lesson. It was also meant to give Mu Yuchen a lesson, as well as for Gu Lingsha to stop suspecting Qi Feng and Xi Xiaye.

However, what happened that day was totally out of their expectations.

“Something must’ve happened.” Morrison took a deep breath. “Could Mu Yuchen have done something?”

“Morrison, you were never someone who’d blame your faults on others. Mu Yuchen is busy rescuing his friend in New York. Do you really think he’d know what happened here?” Qi Feng sounded angry.

“Master, something is wrong, but I’ll be sure to find out the truth.” Morrison dared not defend himself.

Qi Feng took a deep breath and tried to keep calm. “Find out what happened and send me to the police station! Also, take care of the news!”

“Yes, Master!” Morrison gave a quick reply and wheeled Qi Feng away.

It was already late at night when they came out of the Emperor Hotel.

Xi Xiaye stood by the entrance as she glanced over at the big group of reporters and the policemen.

What happened today was unbelievable!

“CEO Xi, what happened?” Zhang Lan asked quietly.

Xi Xiaye shook her head in confusion. “I’m not sure either. Although I know Qi Feng had some other intentions with the dinner tonight, what happened was just unbelievable.”

“Mrs. Mu!”

A rather strange voice reached Xi Xiaye’s ears, so she quickly looked over.

It was a familiar face.

Xi Xiaye frowned slightly and instantly remembered!

Secretary He!

Su Chen’s secretary!

Why was he here?

Secretary He grinned when he noticed Xi Xiaye’s doubtful glance.

“Secretary He?” Xi Xiaye called out to him.

Secretary He nodded. “I’m honored that you still remember me. Are you free at the moment? Chief Su is just nearby…”

Su Chen was nearby?

Xi Xiaye was a little astonished. When she realized that something was up, she nodded and turned back to Zhang Lan and Lan Zilang. “Vice President Zhang, Uncle Lan, you two should head back for now. I hope we all can be careful to deal with the aftermath of what happened tonight. Besides that, thank you for looking after Glory World at the moment.”

“What are you talking about, CEO Xi? It’s my job.”

“Then, we’ll head back now.”

“Okay, goodbye!”

Su Chen was sitting on a long bench by the plaza ahead, smoking when Xi Xiaye walked over.

He raised his head when he heard the sound of footsteps. Then, he extinguished his cigarette when he saw Xi Xiaye coming near.

“Chief Su, why are you here this late at night?” Xi Xiaye was surprised to see Su Chen here as she greeted him.

He looked like he had just come back from somewhere far. Mu Yuchen had mentioned some time ago that he was enrolled in a school of some sort.

Su Chen smiled. “You can just call me Su Chen. Are you alright?”

Xi Xiaye then replied, “I’m fine, but…what happened just now?”

He took a deep breath. “A certain someone was very worried about you even when he’s abroad. He knew that you’d be attending this dinner tonight and told me to come and help out if anything went wrong. I’m glad that you’re fine. He’s missing you wherever he goes. I just called the police, but I’m not sure about the others though.’

Su Chen was telling the truth. Initially, he just wanted Secretary He to find out what happened before deciding their next step, but just as Secretary He was about to talk to the manager, Su Chen received Mu Yuchen’s text telling him to get several trusted officers to head over.

Su Chen complied right away.

He was not sure what exactly happened, and only found out from Secretary He’s observation that Gu Lingsha was showing some sort of drug withdrawal symptoms and was arrested after that!

It mirrored what had happened to Zhou Zimo there. Su Chen hated to admit it, but he was impressed.

“You don’t know?” Xi Xiaye was stunned as she gave Su Chen an odd look.

Su Chen adjusted his sleeves. “Mmm, I really have no idea. You might know more if you ask Ah Chen. By the way, do tell me if you know anything about what’s happening in New York.”

At the same time, in an exquisite hotel room in New York, Mu Yuchen was sitting on a rattan chair, looking through some documents Ah Bo gave him.

The breeze was pretty cold in the morning, and he only had a coat over his shoulders. As he was focused on the documents, his phone started ringing all of a sudden.

He answered the call and a voice quickly came through. “Master, the plan is a success. Gu Lingsha was brought away by the police, and Qi Feng followed them as well. I suppose this is enough to keep them busy for a while.”

It was Ah Pao’s voice.

“How is she?” Mu Yuchen asked coldly.

“Missus is fine. She was vigilant,” Ah Pao replied.

Mu Yuchen was slightly relieved. “Alright, keep an eye on them, especially Qi Feng.”

Mu Yuchen hung up, looking exhausted but generally much calmer than before. Although he knew she would be vigilant, he was still worried, hence he had used such a trick.
