Hexi felt that this sleep was endless.

[1] Taishang Laozi’s refining pill stove like monkey Sun – this is a reference to the book Journey to the West. Taishang is a title of respect for taoists and Laozi was an ancient Chinese philosopher and writer. Monkey Sun is Sun Wukong, a.k.a the Monkey King. He is most well-known from Journey to the West, one of the four great classical novels of Chinese literature. Hexi is referring to the time that Sun Wukong was thrown into Laozi’s refining pill stove or eight-way trigram Crucible. You can read more on this here.
