Chapter 173 - Fu Hee Tries To Harm The Child
Right, when she picked it up with her chopsticks 🥢 Fu ChunHua said to her, "Hold on."
All eyes were now on Fu ChunHua after she said it. She liked the attention she garnered, but there was something more important to take care of.
Jia Li put her chopsticks 🥢 down and glanced over at Fu ChunHua while wondering if there was something wrong with the radish.
Fixing a smiling gaze on Fu Hee, Fu ChunHua said to her, "By giving Jia Li radish to eat, are you trying to harm her child?"
After she voiced that question, everyone at the dining table glanced between her and Fu Hee.
Grandfather Fu could not tolerate the suspense especially after he heard about harming his great-grandchild. He urged Fu ChunHua to explain what she meant.
"Fu Hee, don't tell me you didn't know radish is not good for pregnant women. Are you caring for your grandchild or are you trying to get rid of it?" Fu ChunHua asked.
Feeling the terrifying gaze of Grandfather Fu and Fu Hua, Fu Hee hurriedly tried to explain. She glared at Fu ChunHua and said,
"What nonsense are you talking about? I was only caring about my grandchild. I have no idea of what you're talking about, don't try to accuse of me something I do not know about?"Â
"Whether I'm accusing you of something or exposing your crimes, only you know very well about it." Fu ChunHua said not giving up on the matter.
Grandfather Fu was very angry with Fu Hee. He would never believe that she was innocent of the accusations. He knew she has never liked Jia Li, but to dare to cause harm to the child in his presence, he couldn't tolerate that.
"Fu Hee, you dare to harm Jia Li's child even in my presence?!" Grandfather Fu asked in a heavy tone while directing an angry gaze at Fu Hee as he hit the table with his palms.Â
"Father it's a mistake, I don't dare to harm my grandchild. You saw me, I also put the radish in Hua and YingPei's plates!" Fu Hee denied the claims immediately as she cursed Fu ChunHua inwardly.
"What if that was your way of disguising your plan? You clearly wanted to harm Jia Li's child but in order not to be suspected, you also put one of them in your sons' plates." Fu ChunHua pointed out.
Jia Li was so shocked that her mother-in-law would go to the extent of trying to harm her child just because she didn't like her.
Fu Hua glanced at her and used his chopstick to pick the radish before putting it on his plate.
When Jia Li thought he would eat the radish, he put his chopsticks down and got up from his seat before pulling her up from the chair.
"We are going to the hospital!" He said while pulling her with him as they left the dining room together.
Grandfather Fu's facial expression turned worse.Â
"Fu Hee, you dared to harm your son's child because you don't like his wife. Did you think about his feelings? From today onwards, don't try to get close to Jia Li. And if anything happens to Jia Li or her child, whether you have a hand on it or not, I will take your head for it and bring your Fang family to an end!"
Fu Hee came from the prestigious Fang family, so when she heard the old man's threat of ruining her family, she shivered.Â
Grandfather Fu left the dining table and so did others, leaving her to brood over her actions.
Fu Hee regretted her actions. She felt that she was too careless to have acted so blatantly. She blamed Bai Fen for bribing her with the jewelry and now she has entered another trouble.
She didn't even need to get close to Jia Li for her to be punished. Her other plans of using something else to harm Jia and the child have failed automatically.
Grandfather Fu already warned her that she didn't need to act directly because he would hold her responsible if anything happens to Jia Li or the child she was carrying.
"So, am I supposed to pray for her wellbeing?" Fu Hee muttered to herself.
Fu Hua took Jia Li straight to the hospital to get a checkup done. He was still angry with the fact that his mother just tried to harm his child, and he wouldn't have stopped it if Fu ChunHua didn't point out that radishes were not good for a pregnant woman.
He blamed himself for being too careless.
After the check-up was over, the doctor told them that everything was alright. Both mother and child were doing very well.
They also got the baby's scan after some tests were done on Jia Li.
Fu Hua relaxed a little and asked the doctor to list the foods pregnant women should avoid.
The doctor smiled and wrote the food down while praising Fu Hua for being a caring husband.
The doctor handed the list to him while telling him some things Jia Li had to avoid during her pregnancy and Jia Li listened attentively.
Not only was Fu Hua the only person that felt guilty, Jia Li felt guilty for not knowing that some foods were harmful to the baby and mother during pregnancy.
She promised to be careful and attentive.
On their way back to the Fu house, the car was quiet until Fu Hua broke the silence.Â
"Study the foods the doctor listed here, it's very important. We can't let today's mistake repeat itself."
Jia Li nodded as she glanced at Fu Hua who still had a cold expression on his face. She guessed that he was still angry with what happened during breakfast and optioned to remain quiet.
After today's incident, Jia Li became more careful and observant and so as Fu Hua wouldn't let a fly pass him by without checking it out.
After Grandfather Fu left the dining table, he called Fu ChunHua over and scolded her for allowing radish to be included in their food. He scolded her because she gave that opportunity to Fu Hee.
Fu ChunHua was scared the old man would punish her and immediately apologized.
"If you don't know your duty well, I will take the position away from you." Grandfather Fu threatened.
Fu ChunHua apologized again and promised to be careful.Â
Grandfather Fu let her off after asking her to make sure the kitchen doesn't prepare anything Jia Li could not eat.
