Chapter 120 - Mu Keer Comes Over Before Jia Li Leaves
"Hello, Mu Keer? it's me. Your niece just came to the house now, if you want to meet, hurry up!" Jia Li's neighbor informed.
She was the person Mu Keer asked to keep an eye on Jia Li and inform her whenever she comes around.
"She is there?! I'm coming right away. If she wants to leave, please stall her till I get there." Mu Keer said and hung up immediately.
Mu Keer was very happy and her heart was palpitating. She didn't expect that the person she has been looking for, was in the town already.
She quickly took permission from her superior in the factory she was working at, before leaving hurriedly.
Jia Li, on the other hand, glanced at the empty living room while reminiscing with her parents.
Because of dust, the furniture and everything in the house were covered with white cloths, and there were cobwebs everywhere in the house.
Fu Hua frowned as he glanced at the dusty living room filled with cobwebs, then he made a mental note to employ someone to be taking care of the house.
And as he was thinking of that, he took out his phone and made a call, and finally, a servant working in the Fu Villa in the same hometown was assigned to come and clean the house every month.
Jia Li overheard the conversation and thanked him, before going on to check every room in the house.
The house did look different to her, maybe because it's been a long time since she was there.
Jia Li spent almost 15 minutes looking around and going through things in the house before deciding to leave, or more as Fu Hua convinced her to leave.
"You must be hungry, and you need to eat and rest before we travel back to City X." Fu Hua said to her.
Jia Li heaved a sigh as she agreed with him.
As they stepped outside the house, they met a woman who rushed to their side but was stopped by the soldiers.
"Jia Li, it's me!" Mu Keer shouted as she looked over.
Jia Li almost did not recognize Mu Keer because her skin had tanned.
"Aunty Keer?" Jia Li called out in surprise as Fu Hua gave the soldiers a sign to let Mu Keer go.
Immediately she was released, Mu Keer ran to Jia Li's side and started bellowing.
"My good niece, I have been looking for you. How can you leave and not say anything to me? Don't you know I will be worried about you?" Mu Keer asked as she continued to wail.
"Aunty, why are you crying as if I died? I only left the town." Jia Li replied as she managed to get her hands off her grasp.
Looking up, Mu Keer said to her, "You should have told me. I am the only family member you have so how can you leave this town without telling me? Do you want other people to accuse me of maltreating you?"
"Nobody will accuse you of anything, stop crying first." Jia Li said with a frown.
Mu Keer wiped her tears and that was when she saw someone standing next to Jia Li. She recognized him as the young man that was always with the Old man the few times she came around after her brother's death.
This scene got her thinking a lot.
'Why is Jia Li with this man?'
'Did Jia Li go to live with that wealthy family?'
'But why is she together with this man?'
As Mu Keer was still lost in thought, Jia Li was getting impatient so she said to her, "Aunty, it's too cold, and I was about to leave before you came, so I have to leave now."
Mu Keer came back to her senses just as Jia Li walked past her. She caught onto Jia Li's right palm, and that was when she felt and saw the ring on her finger.
Because of her action, Jia Li had to stop in her steps. Now seeing her lift her fingers to glance at her wedding ring, Jia Li took her hand back from her.
Mu Keer recognized the ring as a wedding ring because of the finger it was worn. Now she was curious about Jia Li's life, Mu Keer couldn't help but ask...
"Jia Li what have you been up to for the past year? Are you married? How come you got married without informing your only relative? Who is your husband?"
Fu Hua frowned with his gaze on Mu Keer as he replied from the side, "I am her husband, do you have a problem with that?"
Hearing Fu Hua's cold voice, Mu Keer shivered and hurriedly shook her head in fear.
But thinking how lucky Jia Li was to marry into a wealthy family, Mu Keer couldn't standstill. She was suffering with her children, but Jia Li got to enjoy in a big city while being married to a rich man.
'No, I have to do something!' Mu Keer thought.
Looking up at Jia Li as tears started to stream down her eyes again, Mu Keer said to her, "Jia Li, since you're leaving a good life, you have to help your cousins out. We've been suffering since your Uncle was sent to prison, and we didn't even get to see him for the last time. At least now that you married into a wealthy family, you have to take your cousins to the City."
It would have been better if we didn't mention her uncle, because right now, Jia Li was so angry.
"Aunty, how can you mention my parents killer so causally? If you have gotten over your brother and sister-in-law's death, I haven't gotten over my parents' death!" Jia Li said angrily as tears started brimming in her eyes.
"You...you how can you still be thinking of what happened in the past? I am only asking you to help your cousins since you're so rich now. Look at your expensive clothes, look at how nice you smell. See how you're living a carefree life while your cousins and I are suffering, don't you think it's unfair?" Mu Keer asked as she was also starting to get annoyed.
Once her greedy heart was set on extorting money from Jia Li, she wouldn't stop until she gets it. But now seeing that Jia Li did not look like she was going to help them, she became angry.
