Chapter 1818 - Hellfire Citadel

Chapter 1818: Hellfire Citadel

Hellfire Ramparts were probably the 1st Instance Dungeon that players would enter in the Outland.

The Hellfire Ramparts were a constructed flank of Hellfire Citadel, situated in the center of the Hellfire Peninsula. It was mostly inhabited by Fel Orcs of the Shattered Hand. Vazruden and his Nether Dragon mount Nazan were the commanders here. These were ramparts not just in name but in reality. As you progressed through the Instance Dungeon, you would realise that this was simply just a part of the giant wall of Hellfire Citadel.

What Lu Li and his team were exploring was the area around the outside.

Actually, they didn’t need Lu Li to protect them or anything. Regardless of whether it was Remnant Dream or Hachi Chan, both were able to fight. Remnant Dream could summon her pet, knock her bow and deal with two monsters by herself.

All Hachi Chan needed to do was heal Lu Li and Remnant Dream.

It was a simple task to kill 10 Fel Orc scouts. The main thing was that finding the letters was relatively troublesome. The needed to gather up the top, middle and lower parts of the letters, which would fit together to make one whole formal piece of information. If they weren’t lucky, they might not be able to collect them all even after fighting for half a day.

What was more, there was no one attempting this quest at the moment. Even if they wanted to buy the pieces, they couldn’t. However, this wasn’t a problem for Lu Li. With Remnant Dream here, Lu Li and Hachi Chan’s letters could be looted by her.

The quest was finished very quickly. Danath Trollvane rewarded all three of them with a generous amount of EXP.

Sometimes, it was nice to have someone to rely on like that.

After that, there was a follow-up quest. Danath Trollvane wanted something strange from these Fel Orcs. He hoped that they would be able to gather some blood from the Fel Orc centurion.

In this way, Lu Li and Hachi Chan progressed through the quest and successfully went through their fifth day in the Outland, reaching level 62.

What was more, they received a few pieces of level 62 equipment from Remnant Dream’s hand. After equipping them, their power increased considerably.

By the time they reached level 62, Lu Li began to plan to attempt the Hellfire Ramparts.

Many of their quests were related to this Instance Dungeon, and were somewhat of a prerequisite. What was more, there was also a First Clear up for grabs. For a club like Ruling Sword which relied on Instance Dungeon First Clears, this was high on their priority list.

With the level 60s opened up, quite a few clubs had already started going for First Clears.

However, they all failed without exception.

If you weren’t level 62, almost any hit you incurred by an Instance Dungeon Boss was equivalent to a critical hit. If things kept going this way, not even Azure Sea Breeze could survive.

Because of this, Hellfire Peninsula was a fiery spectacle for those aiming to level up.

Players with high charisma were pursued by clubs, who would use them to receive quests and lead the other players to level up. This had become a common practice.

Every player had a niche they excelled at. Just as the Chinese saying went, the wheel of fortune kept on turning for everyone.

In the three-way alliance, there were five level 62 players – Lu Li, Hachi Chan, Azure Sea Breeze, Sakura Memories and Star Baby. As for the remaining players, Lu Li chose Water Fairy, Remnant Dream, Sesame Rice Ball, Half a Smoke and Lonesome Flower.

This was a 10-person Instance Dungeon, and would actually be considered low-level later on.

Lu Li had attempted this Instance Dungeon countless times in his last life. He knew it like the back of his hand, so it wouldn’t be unusual for him to achieve the First Clear.

Lu Li took a few pieces of level 62 equipment, which were all Dark Gold. In the few small Instance Dungeons of the Hellfire Peninsula, even with the lucky hunter girl Remnant Dream, it was extremely difficult to find Epic equipment, even amongst First Clear rewards.

In this sort of low-level Instance Dungeon, most groups were evenly matched.

Lu Li and his team had just completed the Hellfire Ramparts.

Immediately afterwards, a few clubs progressed through as well. It was just a difference in a matter of minutes. With everyone so hot on their heels, in order to preserve this lead, Lu Li didn’t even go back to the city to repair equipment, but immediately jumped into the next dungeon.

Fortunately, because they had successfully achieved the First Clear, two more players reached level 62 – Remnant Dream and Lonesome Flower.

The Hellfire Citadel was made up of three 10-player Instance Dungeons and one 25-player Instance Dungeon. The System set up an order of completion. Otherwise, when Lu Li started with the Hellfire Citadel, at least two 10-player Instance Dungeons would fall to their enemies.

Even though this was the case, there was a lot of pressure on Ruling Sword. There were more and more level 62 players on the ranking lists.

Since other clubs had no shortage of Elite players, Ruling Sword didn’t have a definite advantage on the ranking lists. However, Lu Li was the first to enter into the Outland and found a quick way to level up. The little talisman wasn’t useless after all.

The Blood Furnace was located at the top-right of Hellfire Citadel. It was called the Blood Furnace not because there used to be Orcs there who experiment with blood, but because the Fel Orcs had locked up Magtheridon inside. They used Magtheridon’s blood to create an all new Fel Orc. These newly born Fel Orcs were infused with the evil magic power of Magtheridon.

The Boss in this Instance Dungeon wasn’t difficult. In fact, it was only as troublesome as a regular Elite monster.

Perhaps it was because they underestimated their enemy, but Ruling Sword’s entire team died right here.

As a result, they lost the First Clear for the Blood Furnace. It was Seventh Heaven who achieved the First Clear, and were even a little faster than Glory Capital. Evidently, they had put in a lot of effort. Apparently, as long as anyone who participated in this Instance Dungeon had reached level 62, they would be given a suit of level 62 equipment.

Unless they were scouring the private market, it was near impossible to assemble an entire set of level 62 equipment.

Looking at the general attributes of all the equipment, the quality was not necessarily better than Exquisite level 60 Epic equipment. However, it was more likely to be suited to the few Bosses here in Hellfire Citadel.

“No need to be discouraged, the next Instance Dungeon won’t be so easy. Let’s take it as pitying Seventh Heaven – they’ve never gotten a First Clear in a public Instance Dungeon before. Let’s keep going guys,” Lu Li comforted everyone. As the team leader, he needed to remain mentally strong.

If he said he didn’t care, he would be lying, especially since people from Seventh Heaven were gloating on the nearly every channel.

Lu Li was right. The third Instance Dungeon, the Shattered Halls, was the hardest of the ten-player Instance Dungeons.

It was the old lair of the Fel Orcs in the Outland. The commander here was the Warchief of The Shattered Hand, Kargath Bladefist. With two blades instead of hands, he was a member of the Shadow Council, as well as the only core member of the Shadow Council who wasn’t a Warlock. When the Dark Portal had been destroyed, Kargath and Magtheridon colluded together in the darkness. He occupied Hellfire Citadel, claiming that he himself was the true Warchief of the Horde.
