“I’m starving!” Lu Jia’er changed the topic as she ceased her laughter.

Jin Xiangdong, however, kept gazing at her and said with his cold, magnetically attractive voice, “I have been thinking about one particular matter all day!”

“About what?” Lu Jia’er said as she took a sip from the glass on the table.

“Kissing you!” Jin Xiangdong said as he looked at her gently.

Lu Jia’er almost choked on the water, and her face quickly became flushed. Fortunately, the restaurant was dimly lit, concealing her embarrassment at that moment. Jin Xiangdong saw her expression. His smile grew bigger and bigger, like a lake into which a stone was cast, causing ripples on its surface.

A moment later, a waiter served the set meals the two had ordered. The delightful smell of food made Lu Jia’er’s stomach growl again. But Jin Xiangdong took the plate from her and thoughtfully cut the steak on the plate into small pieces.

Lu Jia’er really enjoyed Jin Xiangdong’s considerate actions. She watched his slender fingers holding a knife and fork. She confirmed that he was highly favored by God, and even his hands were fascinating!

Jin Xiangdong had finished cutting the steak, and returned the plate to her, when he asked casually, “How is the case going so far?”

“We’re almost to the finish line!”Lu Jia’er said as she recovered from her preoccupation.

“Almost? Then it is not over yet?” Jin Xiangdong said as he looked at Lu Jia’er.

“The part that I can assist with is over, but because of a big change in development within the case, the date of the judgment may be postponed.” Lu Jia’er said truthfully.

“But your expression suggests that things are still not clear!” said Jin Xiangdong.

As Lu Jia’er heard his words, she stared at Jin Xiangdong with eyes half open for a few seconds before she said, “Ace, have you read Crime and Punishment?”

“No!” Jin Xiangdong shook his head gently.

“How do you define the good and evil of human nature?” Lu Jia’er had to change her phrasing.

“Humans are very complicated, there is neither absolute good nor absolute evil!” Jin Xiangdong expressed his point of view.

Lu Jia’er agreed with him. “Yes, human nature is good, human nature is evil or human nature is nothing. They have always been a topic of debate!” she sighed and said.

Jin Xiangdong looked at her and guessed. “Does the case you’re assisting with makes you inwardly ambivalent?”

“Ace, can you read minds?” Lu Jia’er couldn’t help but ask with a smile, as she heard his question.

“Aren’t you the person who can read minds?” asked Jin Xiangdong.

“Yes, I can indeed read minds!” the smile on Lu Jia’er’s face suddenly froze, but she quickly replied.

“Can you tell what I am thinking now?” Jin Xiangdong slightly curled his lips.

Lu Jia’er gently bit her rosy lips, and looked into his eyes with shyness. Then she saw Jin Xiangdong slightly close his mouth as his Adam’s apple throbbed.

“You want to kiss me!” replied Lu Jia’er confidently.

He laughed in spite of himself. “Am I right?” Lu Jiaer replied in a playful tone.

“Yes!” Jin Xiangdong agreed.

Lu Jia’er lowered her head with a shy smile and her appearance was alluring. Then she heard Jin Xiangdong say, “Since you have discovered my thoughts, you should show me what is on your mind!”

Lu Jia’er looked up and kept eye contact with him for a few seconds. She had to admit that she really liked the feeling of two hearts closely linked with each other!
