His heart pounding with shock, Lu Jingyu had already put distance between himself and the Tentacle Monster.

His trusty dagger wasn’t a top-tier weapon, but it was far from ordinary. Yet it had been turned to dust so easily.
He took a deep breath of cold air. The chill brought by the Tentacle Monster entered his windpipe, making him shudder involuntarily.
Realizing this might be the most difficult Mutant he had faced since arriving in Zone 9, Lu Jingyu dared not hold back any longer.
He swiped a hand over his Storage Space, and a weapon—not quite a sword, with one side red and the other black—appeared in his right hand.
Lu Jingyu’s eyes flickered. Since leaving the Imperial City, he had always hidden his identity and refrained from using this weapon. But now, he had been forced to bring it out.
He felt a little helpless, but when he thought of Xu Qingsui’s unknown fate, he couldn’t be bothered with such concerns.
