The Extreme Alchemist of the Mighty Cauldron

Chapter 803: The Lady Playing the Guqin

Chapter 803: Chapter 803: The Lady Playing the Guqin

Swarms of vigorous green flames, hidden beneath the black cloak, attacked Fang Lin relentlessly like ghostly shadows.

Even with The Ancient Lamp of Flame God in his possession, these green flames showed no fear, as if stimulated.

Fang Lin clenched his teeth, immediately retreating, but the green flames surrounding him were too numerous to completely evade.

In a moment, Fang Lin’s body was stained in several places by the green flames. Even though he was protected by the Kylin battle armor, the green flames were peculiarly corrosive, even capable of eroding the Kylin armor.

But just then, The Ancient Lamp of Flame God finally responded.

A strange power emanated from within The Ancient Lamp of Flame God. The green flames surrounding Fang Lin seemed to be drawn in, continuously flocking into the lamp.

Even the green flames that had stained Fang Lin’s body were being completely absorbed into The Ancient Lamp of Flame God.

Seeing this scene, Fang Lin was overjoyed. With The Ancient Lamp of Flame God in hand, at least he no longer needed to fear these green flames.

But the ethereal piano music was extremely troublesome, affecting Fang Lin at all times, and with its capricious nature, who knew how it would change next.

His Spirit Eye searched for the source of the music, but it was elusive, as if coming from everywhere, impossible to pinpoint the origin.

The green flames surrounding him had been completely absorbed by The Ancient Lamp of Flame God, converging inside into a small green flame.

Simultaneously, the woman playing the zither in the sky played a special tune once more, the sound continuous like babbling brooks.

Fang Lin suddenly felt weak, as if the piano music could reduce his strength.

“No choice left,” Fang Lin, out of options, fully expanded the power of his Spirit Eye, enveloping himself in its coverage.

Doing so, the piano music indeed weakened significantly, almost inaudible, but sustaining the full expansion of the power of Spirit Eye’s also greatly drained Fang Lin; he couldn’t maintain it for too long.

Suddenly, Fang Lin noticed something odd. In the depths of Red Crown Pill City, there stood seven towering stone pillars, but now six had collapsed, with only one left standing.

And on the only remaining pillar, there was the carving of a woman playing the zither.

“Could it be a problem with this stone pillar?” Fang Lin’s eyes flashed. Although he was not sure if it was as he had surmised, there was no time to delay, and he flew straight towards the pillar.

It seemed that Fang Lin’s actions had agitated some existence, as the piano music suddenly became more incisive, filled with overwhelming murderous intent, and hideously ugly Skull Evil Ghosts began to appear all around him.

These Skull Evil Ghosts appeared in time with the music, dense and seemingly endless, innumerable.

Fang Lin snorted coldly, his power of spirit eyes sweeping out, slaughtering the assaulting Skull Evil Ghosts that kept coming.

But the more he killed, the more densely the Skull Evil Ghosts appeared, eventually forming a tidal wave threatening to completely engulf Fang Lin.

“So afraid of me getting close to that pillar? There must be a problem!” Fang Lin scoffed, already fairly certain that the pillar was indeed key to the emergence of the piano music.

Without any hesitation, Fang Lin used a drop of his own essence blood to ignite The Ancient Lamp of Flame God.

The essence blood turned into oil, causing The Ancient Lamp of Flame God to suddenly brighten, and a powerful fire spread out.

Boom!!!

The fire transformed into enormous waves, sweeping in all directions; wherever it passed, those Skull Evil Ghosts dissipated like smoke and dust.

Fang Lin approached the pillar carved with the zither-playing woman unhindered, but just as he was about to reach it, a strange fluctuation burst forth from within the pillar, striking Fang Lin.

Fang Lin was immediately sent tumbling through the air by the shockwave, rolling over and over, with many gashes appearing on his body.

However, the astonishing sound of the zither was also blocked, and the stone pillar remained intact, unscathed by Fang Lin.

Fang Lin swung his sword again, the sword glow turning into a streak of blood light, carrying an even stronger aura than the astonishing zither notes.

Just as Fang Lin believed that the stone pillar would be destroyed by his single stroke, a figure appeared silently atop the pillar.

It was the woman who played the zither, her face indiscernible, dressed in silver-white clothes, with an ancient zither floating in front of her, her fingers gently plucking the strings.

As the strings moved, the life-stealing sounds echoed through the heavens and the earth.

Even the stroke of Sword Qi unleashed by the blood sword was resisted by those extremely terrifying zither notes.

What kind of zither music was this?

It was filled with murderous intent and aggression, yet it also carried a hint of a feminine softness, very mysterious.

Fang Lin, versed in musical rhythms himself, had never heard such a peculiar piece, as if it was a tune composed specifically for killing.

Although the zither music was full of killing intent, Fang Lin did not feel threatened; the woman was only playing the zither, not making a move against him.

Fang Lin watched the woman, his hand gripping the blood sword, ready to strike at any moment.

Meanwhile, the woman seemed to be focused solely on playing her zither, completely oblivious to Fang Lin’s presence.

Unknowingly, the piece ended, and Fang Lin snapped out of it, yet still felt somewhat bewildered.

“Red Crown Souls only wish for peace; why have you all come to disturb this place’s tranquility?” the woman spoke, her voice tinged with sorrow.

Fang Lin furrowed his brows and said, “Who are you?”

The zither-playing woman let out a few soft laughs: “You don’t even know who I am, yet you dare to step into Red Crown Pill City.”

Fang Lin raised his blood sword, pointing it directly at the woman, and demanded, “I don’t want to hear nonsense; otherwise, don’t blame my sword for being heartless.”

The woman looked at Fang Lin and suddenly froze.

“I have seen your soul; it’s you! How is this possible?” the woman cried out in shock, losing her composure.

Upon hearing this, Fang Lin’s heart skipped a beat. What had this woman seen? Could she have seen his Pill Sovereign Soul, his past life?
