Chapter 1346: Regenerate, Memories, and the Sub-world I
Chapter 1346: Regenerate, Memories, and the Sub-world I
Somewhere in an unknown place.
A man with long white hair sat calmly on a rock, his eyes closed. His right arm was covered in tattoos, and silver scales adorned several parts of his body.
He was No God Emperor.
He slowly opened his eyes, revealing his reptilian pupils, and the corners of his mouth curled upward.
"That brat is still alive... I knew he wouldn’t die just like that. His appearance will once again stir those ancients. Moreover, the Lord of the Wood will now face the wrath of the Heavenly Court."
His eyes gleamed with amusement.
"They refused to subjugate her once and for all, and now that she’s arrived at their doorstep, the Heavenly Court won’t tolerate her presence. Well, things won’t end that easily... However, I doubt the Heavenly Court will care much about the consequences. They rarely interfere in the affairs of others. Earlier, when the Ruler of Gluttony launched an attack, he could’ve killed one of the Four Divine Beasts. Yet he chose not to. Instead, he summoned his army and left after confirming that what he was looking for wasn’t there."
No God Emperor knew that numerous powerful beings were lurking in the Immortal Land, each one incomparably powerful.
"Heh~ The Heavenly Court will wait and see how things unfold, but if nothing changes, then it’s only a matter of time before they act. They’ll move against the Lord of the Wood, even if it means offending those who are watching from the shadows. I wonder what they’ll do? If they start fighting, I guess those bastards from God’s Will will join in as well."
No God Emperor rose to his feet, his gaze piercing through the walls of the cave.
"As for me... I’ll take back what’s mine. The Hall Plains."
...
The talk of the town these days centered on the battle in the Immortal Land, where the Lord of the Wood had descended.
Champion’s Den, Athen’s Champion.
Inside an office, an elderly man clad in a white robe sat in a chair, reading through the contents of a document in his hands.
He was Cicero Flavius, one of the Six Division Commanders of Athen’s Champion.
A Demigod.
"That child... He’s grown stronger once again. It won’t be long before he reaches my level. Now he’s causing trouble in the Immortal Land. I’m afraid the Heavenly Court will come looking for him."
Cicero shook his head. Although he was glad to hear news about Souta, he was also shocked by what had happened in that small territory of the Immortal Land.
The Lord of the Wood had left the Three Theaters and descended upon the Immortal Land.
How? Why?
There wasn’t enough information to answer those questions. However, according to some survivors, three groups had been fighting in the area before the Lord of the Wood appeared.
The Gluttony Army, the Dragon Council, and the Council of High-Worlds.
"The remnants of the Gluttony Army..." Cicero muttered.
He recalled that several Heroes of the Ruler of Gluttony had yet to be captured. After the Fall of Gluttony, many of their bases had been destroyed. Hundreds of thousands of members of the Gluttony Army had been captured or killed. Some had even undergone brain extraction, resulting in even more deaths.
"Just what are they trying to do with the Lord of the Wood? A Monster Lord of that level is extremely dangerous... But how did they end up clashing with the Dragon Council and the Council of High-Worlds?"
Cicero shook his head and turned his attention to the information about the Dragon Council.
To think that the small organization he had known back in the Hall Plains had grown to such an extent.
His gaze settled on a particular entry.
Dragon Council’s Seventh Head, Blood Lightning Monster.
...
In a certain tavern, people were laughing, drinking, and chatting about various topics. The atmosphere was lively, as all kinds of people visited the establishment every day.
"Have you heard about it?"
"What?"
"The Blood Lightning Monster has reappeared! When I first heard the news, I couldn’t believe my ears!"
"Really? He’s still alive? I thought he died back then."
"Yeah, it’s confirmed."
A man sat alone in a corner, quietly drinking. He wore a dark brown hooded cloak, with exquisite leather armor underneath. His hair was blue, and he had long, pointed ears like those of an elf.
The man remained silent, listening to the chatter around him.
"The Dragon Council... From what I’ve heard, they clashed with the remnants of the Gluttony Army. They say the battle was brutal. An entire nation, with tens of millions of people, was wiped out."
"Yeah, the Heavenly Court tried to contain the news, but they reacted too late."
"You can’t really blame them. After all, they never expected something this catastrophic to happen in their own territory."
"Things are getting more chaotic by the day. I thought we’d finally have some peace after the fall of Gluttony, but it seems that’s not going to happen."
"I’m afraid that if things escalate any further, we’ll get dragged into it too."
The man listened carefully to their conversation, his expression hidden beneath the hood.
’The Dragon Council, huh? It seems they have some powerful members... I never expected a group like that to emerge at such a crucial moment. They ruined everything. And that Red Mist certainly caused me a lot of trouble.’
He took another sip of beer, his thoughts lingering on the recent events.
After a while, he stood up, left a few coins on the table, and walked out of the tavern.
...
Days had passed since the battle in the Great Shen Empire, and news of the devastating conflict had already spread across the entire continent.
The sun shone brightly overhead, casting its golden light across a vast river. The water flowed peacefully, undisturbed by anything as countless living creatures swam beneath its surface.
Then, without warning, a strange wave of energy swept across the river.
The creatures swimming in the water instantly dropped dead. Their bodies went limp, and their blood began to flow out, rising into the air and gathering above the river.
Ohm!!
After a few seconds, the enormous mass of blood began to compress. It twisted and churned before a figure gradually emerged from within.
The figure absorbed the remaining blood in the surroundings before slowly descending onto the surface of the river.
It was Souta.
"I feel weak... I wonder how many days have passed since then."
Souta lightly pushed off the water and landed on the riverbank. He glanced around, carefully sensing his surroundings to ensure that there were no threats nearby.
The strongest creature he could sense was only a Second Stage monster. Under normal circumstances, such a creature would pose no threat to him whatsoever.
He closed his hand into a fist before slowly opening his palm, carefully feeling the sensations coursing through his body.
This was the first time he had regenerated from nothing more than a single drop of blood. The experience was unlike anything he had felt before.
"I’m weak right now... My strength is only equivalent to that of someone in the First Shackle Realm. I’m still a long way from my peak condition."
He lowered his gaze, examining his body.
"I guess this is the side effect of regenerating from a single drop of blood. After all, everything else was pulverized in that moment, including my Monster Orb. It’ll take some time before I recover."
Before being struck by the attack from the peak Fifth Stage monster, Souta had tried to open his Dreamscape and hide Thousand Earth’s body inside it. However, he stopped himself when he realized that the attack would have shattered his Dreamscape.
If his Dreamscape were shattered, it would affect many things, including his plans. Unless he was at least eighty percent confident that it could withstand the attack, he wouldn’t summon his Dreamscape into reality.
Moreover, God-rank entities would be able to anchor themselves to it and use it to trace the coordinates of the Blood Realm.
He hadn’t forgotten how a talisman given to him by Athen’s Champion had been used to pinpoint the coordinates of Walpurgis Night back then.
That was also why he couldn’t bring his equipment with him. Everything had been left behind in the ruins of the Great Shen Empire when his body was disintegrated by the attack from the peak Fifth Stage monster.
He would retrieve them later. After all, he had left a mark on each piece of equipment, allowing him to locate them.
Unfortunately, only his dark-grade and universal-grade equipment had likely survived. The rest had probably been destroyed along with his body.
Souta shook his head before turning his attention to his surroundings. He didn’t even know where he was.
He began walking leisurely through the forest, spreading his perception to detect everything around him.
"I’m in the middle of a forest... Although the creatures here are low-ranked, it’s better to stay cautious."
Souta continued walking for several hours without encountering any trouble. Every monster that approached him was immediately intimidated by his aura. The unevolved creatures and First Stage monsters couldn’t even breathe in his presence, let alone approach him.
The suppression exerted by a Fifth Stage monster over lower-stage creatures was simply overwhelming.
