Chapter 1314: Great Shen Empire: Why is he here?
Chapter 1314: Great Shen Empire: Why is he here?
She’s been injured, yet she took on another battle.
’It’s heavy...’
Erkigal felt her vision getting blurry, her hearing worsening, and her nose no longer picking up any scent. She could barely hear Isabella’s voice calling her name.
"Why did you stay with us?"
"I went there to assist, but I failed. The only thing I could do was keep you and Eilan safe. I’ve witnessed how those demons massacred the citizens of Ekatoe City. Whether they were elderly or children, they all died the same."
"You don’t have to do this."
"It’s fine. It’s my way of repaying what happened to Selnes Country."
"Can I call you sister?"
"Suit yourself."
"Sister Erkigal, I’ve successfully brewed a potion that can help you break through to the Eight Shackle. Try it."
"Fine."
"Eilan, listen to me. If you want to become stronger, then you need to have discipline. Motivation can disappear, but if you have discipline, you can continue to train even without motivation."
They said that a person would recall pleasant memories when they were on the brink of death.
Erkigal coughed up a mouthful of blood, looking at her hands beside the small pool of blood.
’I tried my best...’
Ice Death stretched out his hand, and a huge phantom hand appeared in the air.
Just as he was about to reach Erkigal, he paused and turned to look up at the sky.
Hmm...?
Green King raised his head, his eyes flickering with a terrifying glint.
Poisonous Vine, Teng Guan, and the others did the same. They raised their heads, sensing something in that direction.
Then,
Three figures shot down from above, crashing into the ground nearby.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The ground shook for a moment as dust billowed into the air.
"Sorry, we’re late!"
Three people walked out from the dust, staring at the remnants of the Gluttony Army with serious expressions.
"More people from the Gluttony Army?"
"The pressure in the atmosphere is immense. These people from the Gluttony Army are really troublesome."
"The situation isn’t good."
One of them was a man with golden hair wearing tattered clothes. He had sharp features and a pair of golden wings with a purple hue on his back. His entire body exuded a golden aura that illuminated the surroundings.
The second was a man with short white hair who exuded an ominous aura. Blood covered his body, and flaming skulls floated around him. His hand gripped a dark-colored spear that emitted a wisp of energy that felt as if it could invade someone’s mind.
Lastly, there was a man with long hair who stood about six feet three inches tall. Green scales covered his skin, and he had reptilian eyes, a pair of horns on his forehead, and a pair of draconic wings on his back.
They were Vashno, Eztein, and Doranjan.
"Tsk, we just escaped, and now we’re already facing another group from the Gluttony Army." Eztein clicked his tongue in annoyance.
"Luckily, that guy didn’t chase us. Otherwise, we’d be corpses by now. It seems they’re planning something big, something far more important than us." Vashno said.
"Look over there," Doranjan said.
Vashno and Eztein looked in the direction he pointed, and their expressions immediately turned more serious.
The presence of Ice Death and Green King on the battlefield was overwhelming. They could feel a chill running down their spines.
Their presence was comparable to that of Thousand Earth, the guy they’d fought before.
"Oh, damn," Eztein cursed.
"We have to take Isabella and Erkigal before we escape. Fighting is futile. There’s no way we can handle those two." Vashno said, quickly forming a plan in his mind.
Swoosh!!
A blinding light suddenly erupted in the distance, followed by a violent surge of energy that swept across the battlefield.
Poisonous Vine, Teng Guan, and the others snapped their heads toward the source of the disturbance, their expressions changing.
"What is it this time?!"
Even Ice Death and Green King narrowed their eyes. The energy fluctuations were so immense that they could feel the pressure against their bodies.
Doranjan, Eztein, and Vashno immediately circulated their energy. Instinctively, they conjured a barrier around themselves as the incoming pressure battered against them.
"Another enemy?"
"I don’t know."
The light continued to intensify, becoming so bright that it scorched their vision.
Isabella hurried to Erkigal’s side and supported her weakened body while staring at the blinding phenomenon.
"This energy..."
Her eyes widened as she recognized this energy signature.
The violent energy suddenly began Yaniesvyl, and the light dimmed before it completely vanished.
Two figures remained suspended high above the battlefield.
They looked down upon everyone below.
One of them was a man wrapped in layers of clothing. His blonde hair was a complete mess, strands sticking out in every direction as if he had just torn his way through a brutal battle. His golden eyes gleamed with an almost predatory sharpness, as though nothing in the world could escape his gaze. Behind him, a furry tail lashed violently through the air.
He radiated the overwhelming presence of a king. The surrounding elements seemed to acknowledge his existence.
Chunks of shattered rock, blazing fragments of fire, and countless other elemental particles revolved around his body like satellites orbiting a star.
His presence alone made the battlefield fall unnaturally silent.
Beside him stood a beautiful woman.
Her posture was graceful, yet there was an unmistakable authority in every movement. She carried herself like a princess born into a throne, someone who had never needed to ask for obedience because the world naturally bent to her will.
Layers of dense fabric covered her body, reinforced by leather armor underneath. A sharp sword rested against her hip, its blade faintly reflecting the light from the battlefield below.
The two figures stared down at the Gluttony Army.
They were Alexander and Yaniesvyl.
"There they are... The remnants of the Gluttony Army." Yaniesvyl muttered with a frown.
"We followed the tracks, and they led us here." Alexander said. He then shifted his gaze and noticed Isabella, Vashno, and the others.
Of course, he recognized them since he had encountered them in the Hall Plains before. He had even taught Isabella how to effectively control space in the past.
Before anyone could ask or say anything, another explosion erupted in the opposite direction.
BOOM!!!
"Again?!"
"What is it this time?"
Best Feram surged outward like a flood, engulfing the entire city.
Everyone was alarmed as mushrooms of smoke erupted into the sky. The ground shook violently, as if a giant were stomping through the city, while the atmosphere became so suffocating that even breathing felt difficult.
A tall, monstrous creature emerged from the smoke.
"My prey is here! I’ve been chasing you people for a long time!"
He stood several meters tall, his glowing red eyes burning with killing intent. Rows of jagged teeth filled his enormous grin, while a single horn protruded from the top of his head.
His entire body was encased in a jet-black exoskeleton, its surface hard and gleaming beneath the light. A long tail, thick as an elephant’s leg, swung heavily behind him, smashing through the ground with every movement.
A greenish gem embedded in the center of his chest pulsed ominously, accompanied by smaller gems embedded in his shoulder and forehead.
The creature’s grin widened.
His sharp teeth were fully exposed, while his eyes blazed with an almost rabid fighting intent. His aura erupted around him, overwhelming the battlefield with sheer pressure.
"Why is he here?" Alexander, who had just arrived, asked in surprise.
"First Head...?" Yaniesvyl widened her eyes, immediately recognizing the monstrous creature.
That’s right.
The creature that had arrived was none other than the First Head of the Dragon Council.
Gerxuzs.
A terrifying monster had recently gained fame by hunting down a bunch of powerful experts. He was an uncontrollable variant that appeared in different parts of the continent, shattering the plans of various factions as he satiated his fearsome nature.
"This monster is here...!" Green King and Ice Death frowned.
They weren’t surprised since they knew about Gerxuzs. This monster had disrupted their plans a few months ago, wreaking havoc everywhere. He had eventually slain one of the remaining Heroes of Gluttony who had received the blessing of their Lord.
That battle could only be described as a catastrophe.
Hundreds of thousands of people died, whether they were members of the Gluttony Army or innocent civilians from other nations. This monster regarded the remaining higher-ups of the Gluttony Army as prey. He chased after them relentlessly, traveling from one territory to another.
Even experts from the Holy Lands had tried to stop him, but they had all failed.
Isabella, Vashno, Eztein, Doranjan, Yaniesvyl, Alexander, and Gerxuzs.
They were facing a group of powerful enemies.
Green King, Ice Death, Teng Guan, Poisonous Vine, and the remaining ten subordinates of Green King.
...
On the other side of the city, far away from the shore, Black Blader was keeping all the leaders of the factions in Yunze City busy.
He suddenly turned around, and a frown appeared on his face.
"Dangerous people have appeared."
