Chapter 230: The Mountain Collapsed
Chapter 230: Chapter 230: The Mountain Collapsed
Before Wen Xing’s father died, he entrusted Wen Xing to Feng Qing and instructed his daughter to swear loyalty to Feng Qing in the future.
Since then, Wen Xing has been with Feng Qing. Although Wen Xing’s appearance is not striking, being tall and robust, she is actually very shrewd, and most importantly, her martial arts are very impressive.
With her, Feng Qing was like a tiger with wings, and there was no longer any worry about anyone troubling her on the journey ahead.
On the road, besides saving Wen Xing, Feng Qing also saved a cat.
After rescuing the cat, she realized it was a mountain lynx, which looks like a cat but is wild in nature and has strong attack abilities.
This mountain lynx had been shot by a hunter and was darting around, coincidentally colliding with Feng Qing’s hand, so Feng Qing saved it, and eventually, the mountain lynx followed Feng Qing.
In fact, Feng Qing intended to release it into the mountain forest, but the lynx was adamant about not leaving. It followed her for three days until she took it in and named it Little Li.
Although Little Li was a cat, it was different from ordinary cats, very intelligent. It could basically understand what Feng Qing said. Besides, when Feng Qing and the others stayed overnight in the wilderness, Little Li often went out to hunt some wild game to bring back.
So, although they were on the run, it felt as carefree as traveling for pleasure.
Upon reaching Qinghe County, which was under the jurisdiction of Shengzhou, Feng Qing decided to stay temporarily, which turned into a two to three-month stay.
"Miss, today Little Li killed two wild chickens. I’ll prepare a beggar’s chicken for you today, you’ll surely love it."
In addition to her formidable martial arts, Wen Xing could cook, and she cooked very well, which delighted Feng Qing.
So now, Wen Xing took care of Feng Qing’s three meals a day.
"Great, cook both chickens. You have one, and Little Li and I will share one. Not bad, not bad."
Feng Qing said with a smile, while Little Li meowed in agreement, showing it approved of this arrangement.
Wen Xing happily responded. Since she practiced martial arts from a young age, she grew tall and robust, and she had a hearty appetite. Ordinary people might disdain her large meals, but Feng Qing never minded, often buying snacks for her and treating her very well.
Wen Xing particularly liked Feng Qing and decided to follow her from then on.
The two and Little Li walked along the road. Today they left the county town to gather some needed herbs in the mountains, and fortunately, they found all the herbs they wanted.
So Feng Qing was in high spirits, chatting and laughing with Wen Xing as they headed back to the town.
Just after they had walked a certain distance, they suddenly heard a rumbling sound from somewhere diagonally ahead. There was not only noise but also a shaking sound, and the ground seemed to shake.
Feng Qing and Wen Xing quickly exchanged glances, and Feng Qing looked down at the ground, wondering if it was an earthquake.
But the shaking stopped after a moment, so it didn’t seem like an earthquake. What happened ahead?
"Wen Xing, go check what happened?"
"Okay, miss, I’ll be right back."
Wen Xing used her Qinggong skill, running straight ahead, while Feng Qing, with Little Li, followed along in the direction Wen Xing had headed.
After the person and the cat walked a certain distance, Wen Xing returned, her face not looking good.
"Miss, the mountain has collapsed ahead."
Feng Qing’s expression immediately became serious, and she quickly asked, "A landslide? Are there any injuries?"
Wen Xing nodded: "Yes, when I got there, I heard a lot of screams, some were injured, and some seemed to be trapped under the mountain."
