Chapter 181: She Doesn’t Want to Share a Man with Others
Feng Qing kept mumbling that nothing should go wrong as she helped Rong Ling into the carriage.
Si Qi and Si Hua cheerfully got into the carriage behind them.
As soon as Feng Qing got in, Rong Ling instructed the coachman outside to head to the outskirts of the west suburb.
Upon hearing this, Feng Qing realized that Si Hua’s guess was right. Rong Ling was intending to take her to witness Han Ziyan’s execution.
Feng Qing pouted silently. Why would he take her to watch Han Zi Yin’s execution when she had no interest in it?
Inside the carriage, after pulling Feng Qing in, Rong Ling didn’t let go of her hand but looked her up and down.
“You look well, seems like you’ve recovered nicely.”
Feng Qing looked up at Rong Ling and felt as though, in his eyes, she had become a lamb awaiting slaughter. It made her scalp tingle, and she hastily shifted her attention.
“The Prince also seems to have recovered well.”
Although Rong Ling’s body couldn’t compare to before, as long as he didn’t use his inner strength, nothing seemed off except that he appeared even more slender.
However, the slenderness didn’t affect his looks; instead, it gave him an ethereal quality, making him seem increasingly otherworldly. The sharp aura he once had was now much more restrained. As long as he didn’t display it, he looked like a harmless celestial man.
Feng Qing knew that this man was not harmless but had merely restrained all his sharpness. After all, he used to be the Dayan Regent King and needed to exude authority, but now he’s just a Prince with no need to be overbearing.
As Feng Qing thought about this, she asked again, “Where is the Prince taking me?”
“Today is the day of Han’s execution. As her master, it is only right for us to escort her for one last journey.”
A chill inexplicably spread through the words, and Feng Qing felt as though there was some hidden intrigue she was unaware of in this statement.
However, she didn’t bother to think too deeply and directly replied, “It’s appropriate to send her off, considering she holds the title of your concubine in name.”
Hearing Feng Qing’s words, Rong Ling turned to look at her, slowly curling his lips into a smile.
“The Princess Consort has become fairer lately, looking much prettier.”
Feng Qing shuddered at Rong Ling’s words. “My Lord, can’t we not talk like this, I’m scared.”
Rong Ling immediately understood her implied meaning, the corners of his mouth lifting into a teasing smile, as he leaned closer to Feng Qing and said, “Does the Princess Consort still have things to fear?”
Feng Qing instinctively shrank back, muttering in displeasure, “Why wouldn’t I have things to fear? When it comes to the unknown, I get scared, and I always feel like the Prince is up to some mischief lately.”
After saying that, Feng Qing stared at Rong Ling, and when Rong Ling heard her words, he narrowed his long phoenix eyes, focusing on Feng Qing with a gaze that inexplicably carried some warmth.
Feng Qing glared at him fiercely and suddenly thought of a possibility. Recently, since this Lord’s body has been recuperating well, even though he can’t use his inner strength, he can do other things, like consummation.
Could it be that his recent gazes imply plans to consummate their marriage?
The more Feng Qing thought about it, the more she felt this could be the case. However, she didn’t feel happy; instead, she wished to find a way to leave the Prince Yong Mansion immediately.
She didn’t want to be Princess Yong nor stay in the Prince Yong Mansion. What would it mean to consummate with Rong Ling? If she became this man’s woman, leaving would only become more difficult, not to mention she didn’t want to share him with others.
But how could she leave now?
