Chapter 179: The Emperor’s True Love
Chapter 179: Chapter 179: The Emperor’s True Love
In the Capital City, everyone keeps talking about this matter, saying that the Prince has had bad luck, being harmed repeatedly.
Additionally, the Empress Dowager and the Little Emperor each sent some things to the Prince Mansion to soothe the Prince. The Little Emperor even personally went to visit the Prince once, but the Prince didn’t see him. It’s said that the Little Emperor’s face turned green at that time, and he left in a huff.
Si Qi and Si Hua mentioned this matter with a cold sneer.
Recently, with one thing after another happening, while outsiders might not know, they, being the top maids, understood somewhat. Essentially, they were all orchestrated by the Little Emperor, who wanted to harm their Prince, so why would they show him a friendly face?
After talking about the matters inside the Prince Mansion, Si Qi and Si Hua spoke about the outside affairs, the liveliest being the Little Emperor’s concubine selection. It’s heard that this time, eighteen concubines were selected into the palace. Among these eighteen, Su Yunxiu, the legitimate daughter from the Empress Dowager’s maiden family, the Su Family, was conferred the title of Standard Third Rank Zhaoyi.
Su Yunxiu was also granted the highest rank among the eighteen selected concubines. Upon entering the palace, she instantly could rival the Empress because Su Yunxiu had the Empress Dowager’s support behind her. Besides Su Yunxiu, the daughter of Vice Chief of Cabinet Elder Xia was conferred the title of Secondary Fifth Rank Wanyi.
Mr. Peng’s daughter Peng Ying was conferred the title of Secondary Fifth Rank Wanrong.
Tang Shilan, the legitimate daughter from the National Guardian General Mansion, Tang Family, was conferred the title of fifth-rank concubine.
Lu Wanqian, the daughter of the Minister of the Ministry of History, was conferred the title of Sixth Rank Noble.
Other than these concubines, the rest are low-rank Talented Women or Beauties. Whether someone can stand out and become a powerful concubine is still unknown at present.
Si Qi and Si Hua smiled as they spoke to the end: "Princess Consort, do you know who is currently the most favored among the concubines who entered the palace?"
Feng Qing raised an eyebrow lazily while eating fruit, saying, "The legitimate daughter of the Su Family, of course."
The Little Emperor must give his mother face, and currently, the favored one would certainly be the Empress Dowager Su’s niece, Su Yunxiu.
Unexpectedly, as Feng Qing finished speaking, Si Qi quickly spoke: "No, the one currently most favored is the legitimate daughter of Lanzhou Prefect, a girl named Zhao Rou’er. It’s heard that this lady was initially just a Junior Sixth Rank Good Lady but unexpectedly became favored overnight, jumping two ranks to become Secondary Fifth Rank Wanyi, and even received the courtesy name Shu."
Feng Qing twitched her mouth, thinking how lively the palace is; Empress Feng Yao must be having a busy time. Being the Emperor’s woman is really pitiful.
Feng Qing spoke while tossing a fresh date into her mouth, while Si Qi in the room continued talking excitedly.
"Princess Consort, do you know why this Zhao Rou’er is favored?"
Feng Qing honestly shook her head, indicating she didn’t know. She really couldn’t understand why the Little Emperor would ignore the Empress Dowager’s niece, the Cabinet elder’s daughter, and the General’s daughter, favoring Miss Zhao Rou’er instead.
Si Qi instinctively lowered her voice and said excitedly, "There’s news that the reason Miss Zhao Rou’er is favored is that she bears some resemblance to our concubine, that’s why she’s favored."
Feng Qing was taken aback, realizing that the Dog Emperor truly loved that venomous woman Han Ziyan.
It’s just unknown what will happen to the Dog Emperor when this ’true love’ gets eliminated?
Feng Qing thought as she lazily looked up at the two maids chattering happily: "Actually, what I’m most interested in is how come you two know so much."
Si Qi and Si Hua always took care of her, but how did they know about the outside affairs and the palace matters?
