Chapter 260 - 239: Unexpected Joy, Blood Claw Wolf Race
Chapter 260: Chapter 239: Unexpected Joy, Blood Claw Wolf Race
’I have to get my hands on this!’
Anton made up his mind instantly. He suppressed his joy and continued scrolling down.
There were plenty of other good items on the exchange list, but most of them weren’t critical needs for him.
Just as Anton sped up his browsing, preparing to quickly scan the remaining pages, his gaze suddenly froze again.
Grant happened to walk over. Seeing the item displayed on the crystal panel, he said with a smile, "Surprising, isn’t it? I was shocked too when I first found out there were Legendary Tier Golems in ancient times. It’s just a shame we don’t know their authentication keys, so we can’t control them."
"Right now, the greatest value of these Golems is as subjects for studying ancient Alchemy, or to be dismantled for their materials."
A barely perceptible smile flashed in Anton’s eyes.
The Golem displayed on the crystal panel—from its described appearance to its structural features—was identical to the Legendary Golem he had discovered in the Dark Nether Realm. They were clearly the same type of thing.
For others, this kind of Golem wasn’t particularly useful.
But for him, its significance was extraordinary.
With enough Golems, he could dismantle them for a large quantity of materials to forge the Six Ding and Six Jia, completing his set of twelve Guardian Divine Generals.
That would not only mean twelve combatants surpassing the Golden Core Third Stage, but they could also form the Six Ding and Six Jia Formation, which could even stand against a Nascent Soul Stage Cultivator.
On the Dawn Continent, the highest level of combat power was currently only the Saint Tier.
With twelve Guardian Divine Generals by his side, while he might not be able to walk unopposed across the continent, he would at least no longer need to fear anyone.
Anton retracted his gaze, his exchange goals now clearly planned.
The Thunder Prison Pillar was the first choice; he had to get it.
Second was the Legendary Golem.
After that came the Elemental Origin Crystal, elemental cores, the Heart of Ten Thousand Woods, and dragon heart blood essence.
If he had any Contribution Points left over, he would consider other resources.
"So? See anything you like?"
Grant asked with a chuckle as Anton put away his identification plate.
"There are indeed many good things," Anton said frankly. Then his tone shifted, and his gaze fell on a small counter in the corner. "What’s that over there?"
Grant followed his line of sight and said casually, "That’s the commissioned exchange area. It’s a place for the powerhouses of various races to trade resources with each other. You can leave something you want to sell, write down your exchange conditions, and if someone is interested, the staff will contact you to arrange a meeting with the buyer to negotiate the trade."
Anton understood. After a moment of thought, he walked toward the counter.
It went without saying that the resources there couldn’t compare to what the allied forces offered.
’But what if I can find something good?’
’It won’t take long to have a look, anyway.’
As it turned out, taking a look gave Anton a pleasant surprise.
He actually saw a Thunder Prison Pillar listed there.
Although there was only one, Anton immediately resolved to get it.
The seller of the Thunder Prison Pillar was named Aolu, and the note requested an Extraordinary Level Magic Equipment in exchange.
A plan formed in Anton’s mind. He immediately called over a staff member and asked them to help contact the seller.
Grant, watching from the side, saw how fixated Anton was on the Thunder Prison Pillar and grew curious about what he wanted to do with it.
But he didn’t probe further, burying the question in his heart.
’Everyone has their own secrets. There’s no need to get to the bottom of everything.’
Before long, a figure walked briskly from the hall’s entrance.
After a glance around, his eyes quickly landed on Anton, and he strode over.
Anton focused his gaze and saw that the newcomer was an Ape-man.
His build was well-proportioned and slender, his back covered in long golden fur, while the hair on the rest of his body was a light brown.
His facial features were distinct and nearly human, and his fingers looked long and nimble, not coarse like those of other Ape-men.
Compared to ordinary Ape-men, this one’s appearance was closer to the Human Race.
Anton immediately recognized the race he belonged to.
Golden-backed Ape-man.
A relatively rare and powerful species of Ape-man.
Their status among the Ape-man races was roughly equivalent to the four great elemental Giant Dragons among the Dragon Race.
When the Golden-backed Ape-man walked over and saw Grant standing next to Anton, his expression clearly faltered for a moment.
When he looked at Anton again, his gaze held a new level of seriousness.
’For an Elf to be personally escorted by one of the Five-Star Pillars of the Fallen Dragon Association and the youngest Sword Saint of the Freedom Alliance, his background must be extraordinary.’
’Could he be some big shot from the Jade Royal Court?’
’But his style of dress doesn’t seem to match.’
The Golden-backed Ape-man forced an enthusiastic smile and stepped forward. "Are you the one who left the message just now?"
Anton nodded slightly. "I am."
The Golden-backed Ape-man said, "My name is Aolu. And you are?"
"Anton Silver Moon."
As soon as he said the name, Aolu’s expression changed instantly.
’So it’s the famous Fallen Dragon Sword Saint!’
’No wonder Grant is personally escorting him.’
Aolu’s eyes lit up. The previous expression, a mix of ingratiating and business-like smiles, was now completely replaced by pure, undisguised excitement.
"Lord Anton, I’ve heard so much about you."
Anton was a little surprised by Aolu’s excitement, but one doesn’t hit a smiling man, so he returned a polite smile.
Aolu quickly realized his behavior was a bit impolite and reined in his excitement.
He cleared his throat, pulled back his unconsciously leaning body, and rubbed his hands together, but his eyes were still astonishingly bright.
"Lord Anton, since it’s you who wants this Thunder Prison Pillar, things will be much simpler."
He didn’t beat around the bush and went straight to the point, his voice tinged with anticipation.
"I’d like to ask you to craft an Extraordinary Level Magic Equipment for me."
Rumor had it that Anton was not only a Sword Saint but also a master in multiple fields, including Alchemy, Enchantment, and Potion-making.
The Scrolls, Rune Equipment, Refined Metal, and potions sold by the Silver Moon Race were all made by him.
Having had the rare fortune to meet such a master, Aolu certainly wasn’t going to miss this opportunity.
"To be honest with you, my Golden-backed Ape-man clan, despite our natural affinity for Magic Power, is not skilled in Enchantment or Alchemy. We can only buy all our Magic Equipment from outsiders. I’m here representing my clan to fight in the Subspace, but without any good Magic Equipment, I feel a little insecure. That’s why I thought of trading the Thunder Prison Pillar for one."
Aolu was quite frank, laying his situation bare.
Anton didn’t beat around the bush either and agreed decisively.
"Deal."
He then turned to Grant and asked, "Is there an alchemy workshop in the fortress?"
"There’s one right here in Ranfeng Hall." Grant smiled. "I’ll make the arrangements."
With that, he turned and walked toward the back of the hall.
"What type of equipment do you want? Start by telling me your requirements," Anton said.
Aolu had clearly thought this through already. He answered without hesitation, "I want a totem pole."
"We Golden-backed Ape-men are naturally strong and have ample Magic Power. Ordinary weapons are too light for us, and we’re not proficient with unconventional ones. We want a heavy weapon that has some weight to it and a simple design."
’A totem pole?’
Anton’s expression was strange, but he quickly recalled that the Golden-backed Ape-man clan had a custom of totem worship.
They hold ceremonies in front of totem poles carved with the faces of their ancestors, praying for their protection and wisdom.
To them, a totem pole is not just a spiritual symbol of their race; it also represents strength and power.
’It doesn’t seem that strange that they’d like to use a totem pole as a weapon.’
Anton nodded and said no more, starting to consider which materials would be most suitable for crafting it.
He had brought plenty of materials with him, more than enough to craft an Extraordinary Level Magic Equipment.
Meanwhile, Aolu waited excitedly on the side, scratching his ears and head in his agitation.
Although the Thunder Prison Pillar was valuable, it was of little use to him and his clan.
If he could trade it for an Extraordinary Level Magic Equipment, especially one personally crafted by a master of Alchemy, it would be an incredible bargain!
Just then, Anton suddenly sensed someone approaching. He turned his head and saw a group of tall figures striding toward them menacingly.
They were a type of lupine creature with very distinct humanoid features.
They generally stood over two meters tall, their bodies covered in short, dense, grayish-brown wolf fur, and their faces retained clear lupine characteristics.
Wolf Race.
Leading them was a tall member of the Wolf Race wearing a bone necklace. His messy, grayish-white hair was braided into dozens of thick plaits that fell over his scarred shoulders, and he was brazenly emitting the aura of the Legendary Tier.
As he strode forward, the crowds along the way parted for him. No one was willing to stand in the way of this murderous-looking group of the Wolf Race.
Aolu also quickly noticed the group of the Wolf Race, and his expression immediately changed.
"Aolu, I heard you latched onto a squad with a Legendary Powerhouse. It couldn’t be this bunch of Elves, could it?"
Upon arriving, the gray-haired Wolf Race member’s gaze swept over Aolu’s grim face before finally settling on Anton and the Elves standing behind him, looking them up and down.
He paused for a moment on Anton’s robes and the insignia on his chest. After confirming they weren’t the kind of Elves from the Jade Royal Court that one couldn’t afford to offend, his expression took on an undisguised look of contempt.
"What Clan are you from? A word of advice: don’t stick your nose where it doesn’t belong. This is between him and me. Outsiders should stay out of it."
The Elves frowned, their gazes fixed coldly on the gray-haired Wolf Race member.
Anton, however, had no intention of paying the gray-haired Wolf Race member any mind.
He didn’t even spare the other a glance, turning to Aolu instead. "The Magic Equipment will be crafted by the day after tomorrow at the latest. Do you have your Thunder Prison Pillar ready?"
Aolu was slightly taken aback and nodded subconsciously.
Seeing Anton ignore him, a vicious glint flashed in the gray-haired Wolf Race member’s eyes.
He bared his teeth, his fangs looking particularly sharp in the light. Just as he was about to speak, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his head, as if an invisible steel needle had pierced through his brow, penetrated his skull, and stabbed deep into his soul.
The surrounding members of the Wolf Race hadn’t yet reacted to what was happening when they saw their captain let out a sudden grunt, his burly frame stumbling back half a step.
"Captain!"
"Captain, what’s wrong?"
The members of the Wolf Race rushed forward, their hands on their weapons, and scanned their surroundings vigilantly, but they couldn’t find the source of any attack.
Coming to his senses, the gray-haired Wolf Race member abruptly looked up and glared at Anton, his pupils filled with shock, anger, and horror.
’This Elf’s methods are so bizarre!’
He hadn’t even seen how the other had attacked.
Just then, a voice cut in, interrupting the tense standoff.
"Byron, this is Ranfeng Hall, not the den of you Blood Claws. You’d best not stir up trouble."
Grant strode over, looking coldly at the gray-haired Wolf Race member.
When Byron saw him, the corner of his eye twitched, and his expression changed several times in the space of a few breaths.
Finally, he shot Anton a cold glance, gave Aolu a deep look, and then, without another word, turned and left without hesitation.
The members of the Wolf Race looked at each other, but not daring to say anything, they quickly followed, soon disappearing through the main entrance.
"That group of the Wolf Race is from the Blood Claw clan."
Grant walked up to Anton’s side and reminded him in a low voice:
"They are an allied race of Blood Roar Fortress."
