Chapter 207 - 196: Abnormal Earth Elemental

Chapter 207: Chapter 196: Abnormal Earth Elemental

Wulei Valley.

A bowl-shaped basin nestled in the southeastern end of the Thundering River Basin, enclosed on three sides by sheer cliffs.

The basin was over twenty kilometers in diameter, its floor sitting more than two hundred meters below the surrounding terrain. It was encircled by towering, grayish-brown rock walls pockmarked with honeycomb-like holes—scars left by countless lightning strikes over innumerable years.

Lightning tore down from the lead-gray clouds, plowing countless scorched black furrows into the valley floor.

The thunder was ceaseless, its dull roar bouncing between the cliff faces, making one’s chest tighten and eardrums ache.

Even the most courageous Adventurers dared not enter Wulei Valley, fearing they would be blasted into charcoal by a bolt from the blue at any moment.

Today, however, Wulei Valley received an unexpected visitor.

A streak of dark gold light, like a shooting star, shot from the edge of the horizon. It reached the valley entrance in what seemed like an instant before coming to an abrupt halt.

The light dissipated, revealing Anton’s figure.

His Divine Sense swept over the area. He quickly discovered that on the jagged rock walls flanking the valley entrance, several large boulders had taken on a bizarre form. They looked like slowly growing coral, their edges crystallizing into fine, granular rock tumors that layered upon one another in a most peculiar way.

’The living stone phenomenon.’

A flicker of joy sparked in Anton’s heart.

’Looks like there really might be an Earth Elemental Titan here after all.’

To be honest, he hadn’t held out much hope.

The southeastern part of the continent was vast, and searching for an Earth Elemental Titan was akin to finding a needle in a haystack.

What’s more, he didn’t even know the specific time when the Earth Elemental Titan would appear.

He had asked his clansmen to keep an eye out, but it was more a matter of taking a shot in the dark; he never really expected them to find anything.

To his surprise, his clansmen had stumbled upon this lead while on a mission to contact the Elf Race in the Thundering River Basin.

’A truly happy accident.’

Without hesitation, Anton’s figure flickered, and he shot into the valley.

The clouds hung low like a lead curtain. Dark gray masses of them rolled slowly, and from time to time, a deep purple flash of lightning flickered in their depths, rendering their interiors semi-translucent.

The sound of thunder was incessant, surging in from all directions and making it impossible to pinpoint its origin.

The moment he set foot in Wulei Valley, Anton immediately felt an intense pressure.

The elemental energy in the air was extremely chaotic, both violent and dense.

The entire valley was like a giant powder keg, where any external disturbance could trigger a violent reaction.

Disturbed by this chaotic energy field, Anton’s Divine Sense was also severely compressed.

His Divine Sense, which could originally cover a radius of several hundred kilometers, could now barely extend five hundred meters around him.

’Still, it’s enough.’

Anton pushed his Divine Sense to its limit. His body moved like a phantom, weaving between lightning flashes and fissures as he ventured deeper into the valley.

Wulei Valley was only a little over twenty kilometers deep. Relying on Sword Escape, it took Anton less than ten minutes to scout the entire area.

Finally, in a sunken basin in the deepest part of the valley, he found his target.

The living stone phenomenon here was so exaggerated it was staggering.

Massive boulders rose from the ground, forming a stone forest that seemed to have sprouted from nothing.

The boulders came in various shapes. Some were like inverted swords, some stood like great towers, and others resembled twisted human forms. They cast jagged, crisscrossing shadows under the dim light of the sky, looking like a group of giants imprisoned underground, their upper bodies breaking free in their struggle.

The surface of every boulder was covered in crystalline rock tumors, layered so densely they resembled countless eyes staring out of the darkness at the intruder.

The sight was enough to make one’s skin crawl.

And in the very center of the stone forest, a colossal creature was curled up on the ground like a slumbering hill.

Its body was over thirty meters long, composed of countless grayish-yellow rocks and crystals, forming a vague humanoid silhouette.

It had a head, a torso, and limbs, but each part was bloated and crude, as if it were a clay figure hastily molded by a careless artisan, possessing only a rough shape without any fine detail.

’I found it. It really is an Earth Elemental Titan!’

Joy surged in Anton’s heart, but it was quickly followed by a trace of doubt.

’A typical Earth Elemental Titan should be a pure, earthy yellow. Its aura should be heavy and profound, like the earth itself.’

’But this Earth Elemental Titan before me has a sickly, grayish-yellow hue, and its aura is tainted with an indescribable coldness, completely at odds with the profound stability an earth elemental should possess.’

Doubt filled Anton’s mind, but he had no time to ponder it.

The moment he stepped onto the edge of the stone forest, the Earth Elemental Titan awoke.

A pair of dark yellow pupils suddenly lit up in the shadows of the deep chasm.

Without any warning, the air in that instant solidified.

This wasn’t a metaphor.

It was a literal, physical solidification.

Anton could clearly feel an invisible force field expanding outward from the Earth Elemental Titan. Wherever it passed, dust in the air stopped floating, pebbles ceased to roll, and even the water droplets dripping from the dome above hung suspended in mid-air, like a scene that had been paused.

It was a mighty force originating from the very source of the earth.

A dominion at the level of fundamental laws.

In the face of this power, Anton felt his body abruptly sink.

It was as if the weight of the entire world had been dropped onto his shoulders in that single moment.

Even the flow of Magical Power within his body grew sluggish, as if wading through a viscous swamp. Every bit he tried to mobilize required several times the usual mental effort.
