The Doomsday Lord: Starting as a Insect Queen

Chapter 1912: Chapter 595: Pacifist (6k)

"Looks like the other squads are ready too. This ability is really damn useful..."

Seeing the other turrets boot up in sync, Noxico couldn’t help but sigh a little at the voice that was sounding directly in his mind.

The "higher-ups" he’d mentioned just now were of course not the higher-ups of the Gray Gang, but the higher-ups of the Church.

Even though this was only his second time experiencing this ability after the test run, that voice that felt like an oracle was enough for him to recognize on instinct that these were orders he had to obey.

It was practically... a real oracle!

Although this was indeed different from the Insect Swarm Network—this time Vlad had truly borrowed Bai Yi’s oracle channel to issue commands—but right now that didn’t matter to Noxico.

Hearing the order ring in his ears once more, Noxico’s gaze sharpened.

The Potion in his right hand stayed the same; his left hand slid to his waist, pinched out the Potions he’d pre-hung there, then moved to several spots inside the turret that were easy to hit in a sudden assault, crushing the Potions and triggering Potion Magic to lay down Spell wards.

Potion Magic isn’t just for direct combat!

By the time he got back to the upper level, the turret’s alarms suddenly blared. A huge mass of small starship phantoms were gradually solidifying in the sky, descending from space into the atmosphere.

They’re here!

"Target the ships. Don’t hold back! For the Red Moon!"

The large Energy Cannon deployed on the top of the tower swung around at high speed. Its already fully charged muzzle flashed with an electric arc, and a white-hot beam lanced out in a blink.

Even if the tech level of these turrets wasn’t the greatest, they were still heavy guns from an Advanced civilization. Pure numerical suppression like that was something the shields of small ships simply couldn’t withstand.

The turrets dotted around the city flashed white one after another, and every time that white beam reached its end, a "firework" detonated there in response.

"These Red Moon believers! They actually seized the planet’s defense system! Why the hell didn’t our inside line report this intel!"

Inside the ship, the Tier Six officer in command roared in fury.

"Most likely it was a plan only revealed on-site. The battlefield might’ve had its signals jammed like last time.

Even though we have that lord protecting the Quantum Network, our infiltrators can’t receive that protection, so they can’t transmit intel from the battlefield."

The Deputy at his side offered a reasonable analysis.

The officer at the head of the group forced down his anger, several ideas flickering in his eyes as he suddenly looked up.

"The ships have turned into our cages now. If we keep following the original plan, we’ll just send our people to die together with the ships.

All Extraordinary Army units, revise your plan: direct airdrop!"

With that said, he took the lead himself, slashing open the ship’s outer armor with a wave of his hand and leaping out. Mechanical armor snapped onto his body, and the Mecha’s might turned his whole self into a weapon as he slammed down ruthlessly.

A large number of mechanical weapons unfolded at high speed, clearing a broad zone around him that could serve as a landing area for the airdrop.

How could the Three Great Civilizations possibly not have tactics for dealing with airdrops?

Last time the airdrop forces were ambushed because they didn’t have powerful Transcendents seated in command, but this time was different!

Just as he finished, the other teammates in the ship, together with a large number of airdrop pods containing troops, crashed down with a thunderous slam and rapidly formed up.

"Sir!"

The Mechanical Master officer raised a hand, stopping the Deputy’s report.

"Stick to the plan. Leave two squads in place to build a temporary position. Have the 4th Rank squad leaders lead attacks on those turrets they’ve seized. Fifth Tier and above officers will move around to support and respond at any moment to the Red Moon Church’s Fifth Tier!"

The Deputy accepted the order and left, and the Mechanical Master officer’s face darkened, a hint of worry flashing there.

"We still have too few powerful Transcendents..."

If there was a chance, when would he ever not want Fifth Tier or even Tier Six to lead squads in a direct raid on the turrets? But...

They just didn’t have them...

His group was only one of several fleets tasked with responding to the Red Moon Church’s counterattack according to intel, and the unit he commanded was just a regular force within that fleet.

The powerful Transcendents he could call on were very limited.

The Faith Hunters looked strong, but their core advantage was simply that they had far more high-tier members than ordinary organizations. In reality, the regular Transcendents were all seconded from within the Three Great Civilizations themselves; they weren’t that much more numerous than in other organizations.

It’s just that because they operated constantly, it made them look like they had a lot of people.

Compared to high-tier Combat Power, it was actually the Middle Tier, especially Fifth Tier and Tier Six Combat Power, that was even harder to allocate.

The higher a Transcendent climbed, the rarer they became. By the time you reached Fifth Tier and Tier Six, numbers had fallen past a critical threshold, making it impossible to form true army-scale units.

In the end, they were just a "black glove" organization formed by the Three Great Civilizations; it was impossible for them to really receive full regular army-level Combat Power.

Once all their Powerhouses were scattered across different battlefields, they didn’t have any obvious Combat Power advantage.

The rumbling from afar cut off his thoughts. Snapping back to the reality that he was still on the battlefield, he loosened his tightly clenched fist and looked toward the source of the noise.

That direction...

"It’s that turret. The assault’s begun...

You stay here, I’ll go oversee it!"

Tossing the order back to the Deputy, the Mecha’s underside blasted out a shockwave as he lifted off where he stood.

The Deputy’s command ability was almost on par with his. Compared to staying in place, his Combat Power was far more crucial to the battlefield right now!

After a few leaps across the rooftops of tall buildings, the officer reached the area near the turret. He glanced at the three squads currently locked in battle with the tower, then suddenly froze, whipping his head toward the rooftop of another high-rise not far away.

A surge of scarlet Magic Power swept across that rooftop, reassembling into the figure of a long-haired woman draped in the robes of the Red Moon Church.

A Tier Six Believer...

And judging from the Mecha’s energy readings, she wasn’t weaker than him at all!

The officer immediately used his Mecha to assume a combat stance. The Mecha’s weapons began charging and unfolding as his whole body went taut, fixing a wary stare on the Believer.
