The Beautiful Time With You

It took a moment for her to realize that [Expert of the Monkeys] was speaking to someone next to him.

Shi Yao automatically opened her mouth and asked, “Are—”

She intended to ask, “Are you all busy?”

However, she’d barely said the first word when another voice from [Expert of the Monkeys]’s end said, “Are you still playing or not? If not—”

Shi Yao could immediately tell that this wasn’t [Expert of the Monkeys]’s voice, but it sounded more pleasant than his.

No. It was much, much, more pleasant.

It was so pleasant that her entire being froze up after hearing him speak!

This was undoubtedly the most pleasant-sounding voice she had ever heard in her entire life.

Crisp and soothing, there was a hint of laziness that could be heard within his clear voice. Even the voiceovers for charming male leads in animations couldn’t hold a candle to that voice.

It was just a few words, but it gave Shi Yao the impression of encountering a beautiful youth wearing a white shirt amidst the light breeze of a warm summer’s day.

Shi Yao struggled internally to find the words to describe the voice she’d just heard, but after rummaging through her head, this was all she could come up with.

She would never have thought that she, who had achieved a score of 138 out of 150 in her Chinese language paper for the National Higher Education Entrance Examination ¹ , would end up describing a voice with just the word ‘pleasant’.

“Sis Yao? Sis Yao?”

“Sis Yao, it’s time to jump!”

Shi Yao had no idea how long she sat intoxicated by that voice, and she had no idea how long [Juice] and [Expert of the Monkeys] had been shouting at her. She only knew that by the time she came to, she was already falling in midair.

And her teammates were around a thousand meters away from her.

[Expert of the Monkeys]: “Sis Yao, did you get disconnected?”

[Juice]: “That’s probably what happened. The game’s already a minute in, but she still hasn’t jumped.”

Hearing those voices, Shi Yao hurriedly replied, “I’m here.”

[Expert of the Monkeys]: “Sis Yao, you didn’t disconnect! That’s great! Why didn’t you jump with us earlier? We’ve been calling for you for so long!”

There was no way Shi Yao could tell them that her soul was stolen by that voice she’d just heard. And so, after a moment’s hesitation, she found a logical excuse and said, “I was grabbing some stuff.”

[Juice]: “I see…”

Perhaps it was due to her lie, but even though [Juice]’s words sounded perfectly normal, Shi Yao still felt a little guilty. Thus, she quickly added, “You should all gear up first. I’ll find you later.”

[Expert of the Monkeys]: “Sis Yao, don’t come over. You’re in the safe zone now so find somewhere to hide first. We’ll drive over to you.”

It was only then Shi Yao realized that she was indeed in the safe zone. She replied with an ‘Oh’ before slowly landing on the ground and rushing towards a house not too far away.

After picking up all of the loot in the house, she decided to hide in a corner of the room to wait for Expert and Juice to come to her.

While waiting, she took another look at her phone’s screen, and it was only then that her slow mind realized that [111111] was on her list of teammates as well.
