Typically, couples registered their marriage before the wedding ceremony. When Zhao Nuanyue and Hua Yusen got engaged, her documents had been submitted for review. Both of them had clean records, so their application was approved. Thus, two days before the wedding date, Zhao Nuanyue went with Hua Yusen to get their marriage certificate.
Zhao Nuanyue woke up bright and early and picked out a new green outfit to wear. She styled her long, soft hair into two neat pigtail braids, one on each side, and her wispy bangs made her small face look even more pretty and cute.
Flushed with happiness, Zhao Nuanyue’s face was rosy. Even without any rouge, she was delicately beautiful.
Hua Yusen had been too excited to sleep last night. Since waking up this morning, he’d been grinning from ear to ear.
When dawn broke, he immediately got up. He couldn’t even bring himself to eat breakfast before driving over to pick up Zhao Nuanyue.
"Heh heh..." Hua Yusen gazed adoringly at the well-dressed Zhao Nuanyue. "Nuanyue, you look so beautiful today!" he exclaimed.
Hearing Hua Yusen’s praise and seeing his goofy smile, Zhao Nuanyue blushed. She feigned annoyance and said, "You silly goose, are you saying I wasn’t pretty before?"
"Beautiful! Gorgeous! My wife is always this beautiful, always this stunning!" Hua Yusen quickly corrected himself, reaching out to take Zhao Nuanyue’s hand. "Let’s go! If we go now, we can be first in line and get our marriage certificate as soon as possible!"
Zhao Nuanyue glanced at the watch on her wrist. It was just half-past six, not even seven yet.
’This Hua Yusen is way too eager,’ she thought. ’We should at least have breakfast first!’
"You don’t need to be in such a hurry. They’re not even open yet," Zhao Nuanyue said, laughing as she tried to placate him. "If we eat breakfast and then drive over, we’ll still be near the front of the line." ’This man is just too impatient.’
"But I can’t wait!" he said, sounding anxious. "I’m just dying to get our marriage certificate!"
"Your eagerness is a little funny, but I know it’s because you cherish our relationship and this marriage. It makes me very happy, and I’m very touched." After speaking, Zhao Nuanyue glanced around. Her younger brother and sister weren’t up yet, so she hugged Hua Yusen. "I love you, hubby!"
After a while, Zhao Nuanyue’s stomach started to rumble, and she had to push Hua Yusen away. "Alright, no more kissing. I know you love me. Now let me go make breakfast. We’ll eat something and then head over. Besides, Nuanyang and Little Red Carp are home today, and they’ll be up soon. If you keep kissing me, they’ll see us."
"Alright. I love you, wifey. I’ll listen to you!" Hua Yusen whispered softly in Zhao Nuanyue’s ear. "My wife’s breakfast is the best. I love it! Soon, I’ll get to hold my wife while I sleep every night and eat the breakfast she makes every morning!"
After they were married, they could be together day and night, just like in Nianqiao Village—only it would be even sweeter, sharing the same bed.
"If you like it so much, then come help me cook," Zhao Nuanyue said with a smile, beckoning Hua Yusen into the kitchen.
By the time Zhao Nuanyue finished making breakfast, Zhao Nuan Yang and Little Red Carp were also awake.
After they ate, Hua Yusen and Zhao Nuanyue left the house.
"Sister, I wish you all the best!" Zhao Nuan Yang said sincerely as she was about to leave, hoping that she and his brother-in-law would be happy forever.

"Thank you, Nuanyang!" Zhao Nuanyue said with a smile. "Thank you, really, my dear brother. Whether before or after I’m married, I’ll always be the same toward you and Little Red Carp. You two are the closest, most beloved people I have in this world!"
"I know, Sister. You’re my closest and most beloved person, too!" Zhao Nuan Yang was no longer as emotionally reserved as he used to be, no longer keeping everything bottled up inside. Seeing his sister about to enter into marriage, to spend the rest of her life with another man, he felt he had to speak up. He needed to make sure his sister knew she would always have her family to rely on.

Watching the sentimental scene between her brother and sister, Little Red Carp said with a laugh, "Sister, Brother, don’t you forget about Little Red Carp!"
"We won’t forget. Little Red Carp is the cutest child, the most lovable little sister," Zhao Nuanyue said with a laugh. "Wait at home with your brother. Your brother-in-law and I will be back as soon as we get the marriage certificate, and we’ll have an early celebration at lunch!"

Hearing their brother-in-law’s sincere words, Zhao Nuan Yang and Little Red Carp felt more at ease and watched the couple leave.

Zhao Nuanyue and Hua Yusen arrived at the Civil Affairs Bureau bright and early. They were indeed very early and were first in line.
The entire time, Hua Yusen held Zhao Nuanyue’s hand, refusing to let go.
