Gao Yuan adjusted the angle, having Lin Wanyu and Li Mengqing stand in front holding the cake. He stood between them, stretched out his arm, and snapped a picture.
After taking a few shots, Gao Yuan went ahead and took some pictures of the feast on the table as well.
He hadn’t updated "Mr. Gao’s Dinner" in a long time. He figured he could use these photos from Lin Wanyu’s birthday as a new post.
Next came the exciting part: making a wish.
Gao Yuan stuck a small candle in the cake, lit it, and then turned off all the lights in the house.
In the faint yellow candlelight, Lin Wanyu gave Gao Yuan a deep look, then slowly closed her eyes, clasping her hands before her chest.
「One minute later.」
Lin Wanyu opened her eyes, a charming smile on her face. She leaned toward the candle and blew it out in one breath.
She had spent a full minute making her wish. She was a little afraid it wouldn’t come true, so she blew out the candle with extra force.
"What did you wish for?"
Gao Yuan was a little curious.

"Let’s cut the cake!"
Lin Wanyu wouldn’t tell anyone this wish. She was determined to keep it a secret until the day it came true.

The meal lasted for over an hour.
First, Lin Wanyu unrolled the Upper Forest Poem that Gao Yuan had given her. It was over five meters long and took up the entire living room when unfurled.
She gazed at each and every character on it, moved beyond words.

Carefully rolling up the Upper Forest Poem, Lin Wanyu took it to her room and placed it in a cabinet. This was a gift she would treasure for the rest of her life.
Back in the living room, the three of them sat on the sofa, a little bored. It was just past 7 PM, still early.
"Gao Yuan, do you want to take us out and do something fun?"
Seeing both Lin Wanyu and Li Mengqing looking at him, Gao Yuan thought for a moment and nodded. "Sure! It’s been a while since I went out, too."
"How about I call a few friends for you to meet?"
"Yeah, yeah!"
Gao Yuan immediately contacted Qin Yichuan and Zheng Zhi.
He had been so busy lately that he hadn’t really talked to them much. The last time was just a brief chat at Zheng Zhi’s place.
"Wanna come out for some karaoke?"
"Sure!"
"I thought you’d forgotten all about us poor friends after you got rich."
"You ready to bleed some cash tonight?"
Seeing the messages from his two buddies in the group chat, Gao Yuan sent a GIF of someone getting beaten up.
"Let’s go to IN11 then!"
"But I’m bringing my girlfriend!"
The moment Gao Yuan sent that message, the group chat went silent.
"You sure you’re bringing your girlfriend?"
Qin Yichuan asked in the group chat.
The three of them rarely brought their significant others when they went out, especially since the other two now had kids.
"I want to introduce you to my girlfriend. If you guys don’t bring your partners, it’ll be boring!"
Gao Yuan explained his reasoning. He was taking Lin Wanyu and Li Mengqing out, so he couldn’t exactly call for some other girls to join them.
If the other two didn’t bring their partners, it would be even more boring. But if they did, it would turn into a real get-together where they could sing, have a few drinks, and just have fun.
"Alright, we’ll keep it tame tonight, then. Time to hang with the wives."
After messaging his two friends, Gao Yuan gave Lin Wanyu and Li Mengqing an "OK" sign. The two of them excitedly went to change their clothes.
Then, Gao Yuan contacted Meiting and asked her to save a large private room for him, making sure to mention it was a family gathering.
He didn’t want them to just be getting settled when Meiting brought in a parade of girls. Qin Yichuan and Zheng Zhi would kill him.
When they usually went out, their families knew about it to some extent. As long as they didn’t go too wild, it wouldn’t cause any problems at home.
But to pull something like that on a night like this? That would really be asking for it.
When Gao Yuan arrived at IN11 with Lin Wanyu and Li Mengqing, Meiting was waiting at the entrance again. This time, however, she didn’t run up and grab his arm.
When she got Gao Yuan’s call, she understood the situation. Being overly familiar at a time like this would just cause trouble for him.
"Brother Yuan, you’re here."
Meiting said this, but her eyes were fixed on Lin Wanyu and Li Mengqing beside Gao Yuan.
She had known for a while that Gao Yuan had two girlfriends and had even seen them on TikTok, but this was the first time she was seeing them in person.

Gao Yuan smiled slightly, gesturing to Lin Wanyu and Li Mengqing as he introduced them to Meiting.
Then, he turned to the two women and said, "This is Meiting. She’ll be taking care of us tonight."
The moment Lin Wanyu and Li Mengqing saw Meiting, they knew her relationship with Gao Yuan was more than just professional.
Meiting’s figure and looks were truly outstanding, and after recently using the facial masks Gao Yuan had given her, her skin had improved to another level.
But they both understood how men were. Gao Yuan had never gone too far, so they generally had a hands-off approach with him.
So, both Lin Wanyu and Li Mengqing greeted Meiting, and the three of them even started chatting enthusiastically.
Gao Yuan knew Qin Yichuan and Zheng Zhi hadn’t arrived yet, so he didn’t wait for them at the entrance and just followed Meiting to the private room.
After the three of them entered the room, Meiting went to arrange for drinks.
Lin Wanyu sidled up to Gao Yuan and whispered mysteriously, "So... are there any ’special’ arrangements for later?"
