Chapter 4588: Seizing Someone

Chapter 4588: Seizing Someone

Lu Yin abruptly stared at the ferryman. It said, "It is true. I saw it with my own eyes.

"Back during the war against the Nine Ramparts, the being who created the Clear Sky Locked Earth Array was at the forefront of the Grand Clarity Civilization. Although it died during that war, I heard that it also wore down a Rampart Warden and killed them."

"Xiang Xue?" Lu Yin blurted.

The ferryman shook its head. "I do not know."

Lu Yin's expression grew heavy. It should have been Xiang Xue because Grand Clarity had attacked the Fifth Rampart.

The strength and quality of the Fifth Rampart’s younger generation was irrelevant as Xiang Xue's strength was undeniable. A conservative estimate would place him at the peak of two laws. Lu Yin believed that it was even possible that all nine of the Rampart Wardens had been three-law monsters. His reasoning was that nearly all the fishing civilizations he had encountered had possessed some sort of strength approaching that level.

The Blacklight Civilization’s One-Hundredth Seal, the Divine King's ability to alter his cosmic laws, Ni Bieluo's trident with several recorded Immortals, and so on. If each of the Nine Ramparts was on par with a fishing civilization, then unless the strongest person of each Rampart had possessed similar strength, it would have been nearly impossible for humanity to fight back.

There had been many reasons for the Nine Ramparts' defeat, but Lu Yin had never heard any claim that their loss had been due to an uncrossable gap in strength; it had either been due to traitors or the attackers’special methods.

If Xiang Xue had been killed by this Clear Sky Locked Earth Array, then Lu Yin would have to reevaluate it.

He approached the black mountain once more. With the ferryman's guidance, he knew that there was one path that led straight to the Clear Sky Locked Earth Array. The entire mountain was actually within the Clear Sky Locked Earth Array's range of influence, making it impossible to truly approach it. But only by getting close to the sourcebox array itself would he have a possibility of mastering it.

Lu Yin was not a native of the Grand Clarity Civilization, so there was no need for him to spend his entire life studying only one sourcebox array. He had already mastered far too many. However, given the fact that Grand Clarity had managed to reach such spectacular heights in the path of sourcebox arrays, there had to be a reason behind their choice.

Lu Yin felt helpless. Given a choice, he would also want to study only one sourcebox array forever. Of course, Grand Clarity's rules could not be separated from the civilization’s strange and unpredictable path. Every sourcebox array had many variations. Each one was both a single and multiple arrays.

Following the path up the mountain, it was not long before Lu Yin saw the sourceboxes placed along the mountainside and the complete Clear Sky Locked Earth Array.

This was the limit. If he wanted to continue forward, he would have to personally withstand the suppression of this sourcebox array.

He stepped in without hesitation. According to the ferryman, without a Grand Clarity being controlling it, the Clear Sky Locked Earth Array was nothing more than a decoration intended to frighten people. As long as one could withstand the pressure of the array's danger field, they could break the array.

This was not an offensive sourcebox array.

As he stepped inside, that terrifying, overwhelming suppression appeared once again. This time, Lu Yin was not worried. He walked into the array very calmly. His body could completely withstand the pressure.

Even if a Grand Clarity Immortal was using this array, Lu Yin would still be able to put up a fight. He arrived at the very center of the array and looked in every direction, examining the sourceboxes one by one, wanting to clearly see all of their danger fields.

The Nine Odysseys Megaverse’s Mother Tree had been restored. Deathmound had been destroyed during the previous war, but it had also been rebuilt.

Two figures passed by each other, producing the sound of weapons clashing. Four arcs were drawn through the air, like lightning falling to smash the earth apart.

"Twin Blade Lure."

"I see through it."

With a clang, a short blade quickly spun through the air before stabbing into the ground. A woman landed beside it. She slowly crouched down and picked it up. "It is seen through every time. The Dragon Requiem that I am so proud of is useless when I face you."

Another woman's voice came from behind her. "After fighting so many times, you are constantly improving. One day, it will be impossible for me to see through you."

The first woman offered a wry smile. "I don’t need to be comforted. It’s just that I may not be able to wait for that day. I always feel like you could break through to the Immortal realm at any moment."

"How could it be so easy?"

"Is your good luck gone?"

"Yes. It has been gone ever since the war."

"That is a good thing for you," the first woman stated. She was Long Yin, the peak master of Deathmound's Third Peak, and the one sparring with her was precisely the master of Deathmound's First Peak, Xiang Siyu.

Putting away her short blade, Long Yin said, "I am leaving."

Xiang Siyu sighed. "Sorry to trouble you. After losing my good luck, my First Peak has fallen behind with many matters. I’ve even needed to ask your Third Peak for help."

"It’s nothing," Long Yin said. She picked up her foot, and disappeared.

Xiang Siyu watched her leave and then also turned to leave. Suddenly, her body went stiff. A terrifying chill completely enveloped her, causing her body to feel ice cold. She felt like she had been targeted by death. She could not move at all.

What’s going on? What is this feeling?

Terror. It was indescribable terror.

At this moment, she clearly felt that she had touched death.

On the ground, a human shadow stretched out. She looked down and saw it. Who was it? Who could get so close to her and leave her completely unaware of their presence? Only an Immortal could do that, no one else. But which of the Trio’s Immortals would cause her to feel such terror? This hostility seemed capable of devouring her.

"What did she say just now? ‘Good luck?’" a familiar voice asked. Xiang Siyu had heard it before. Even if it had only been a handful of times, she remembered it with absolute clarity: it was Hong Xia's voice.

Did Hong Xia actually come to the Nine Odysseys Megaverse?

From behind Xiang Siyu, Hong Xia calmly observed her. He had managed to enter the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, having spent more than ten years working his way through the Heavenly Karmic Macrocosm to approach in secret. His target was Xiang Siyu.

Once, Lu Yin had taken Xiang Siyu to Crimson Starshade, and they had managed to repeatedly encounter Chivalrous Bei. It had been truly bizarre, and Hong Xia had not been able to understand it at all. He was aware of all of Lu Yin's methods, and he knew that, while it would be very easy for Lu Yin to find Chivalrous Bei, it was impossible for him to do so in a way that was concealed from Hong Xia. Only this woman could be responsible for those encounters.

He had considered the matter for a very long time, but he still had not been able to understand how this woman had done it.

Chivalrous Bei was related to his cultivation, so no accidents could be allowed.

When the Trio was attacked, Hong Xia had planned to find Xiang Siyu after locating the Ten Eyed Divine Crow, but he had been interrupted by Greater Sancte Green Lotus.

However, he had come back to look for her.

He had watched Xiang Siyu's battle with Long Yin and heard Long Yin's comments.

"Hong Xia, you actually dare to enter the Trio? Aren't you afraid that Lord Lu will slaughter you?" Xiang Siyu barked in a low voice, her face deathly pale.

Hong Xia's voice was ice cold. "Lu Yin is using his only chance to act to deter foreign enemies. The more he tries to intimidate others, the more he proves that he is unable to act. Do not worry. You are not worth him sacrificing all of human civilization."

He then reached out and placed a hand on Xiang Siyu's head. At this moment, she knew that she was very, very close to death. She seemed to see a pair of black eyes staring at her, ready to reap her life at any moment. This was something that she had never experienced earlier in life.

"Answer me. What did she say just now? Was it ‘good luck?’" Hong Xia repeated.

Xiang Siyu took a deep breath, beads of sweat trickling down her beautiful face. "That’s right. My luck is very good."

"You found Chivalrous Bei with luck?"

"Yes."

Hong Xia stared at Xiang Siyu's face. Luck?

"You believe me?" Xiang Siyu was astonished. She had assumed that Hong Xia would never believe such a thing. Who would?

Hong Xia did not answer. It looked as though he were mulling over something.

Xiang Siyu waited for a while, yet Hong Xia did not move at all. She frowned, her pale face causing her to appear very frail. "Hong Xia, just what do you want to do?"

Hong Xia’s fingers finally clasped. He grabbed Xiang Siyu and disappeared.

Outside the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, the void shattered. High above everything, karma circulated, connecting heaven and earth as a lotus struck.

Hong Xia appeared beneath the lotus, holding Xiang Siyu with one hand. His expression fell.

"Hong Xia, you actually dare to come here!" Greater Sancte Green Lotus thundered. Hong Xia had managed to conceal his aura to enter the Trio, but as soon as he grabbed Xiang Siyu and tried to leave, he had been detected by the Heavenly Karmic Macrocosm.

Hong Xia raised his sword, slashing out with the Path of Dispassion.

The Thousand Faces of Karma, Karmic Heavenwheel fell, meeting the sword slash.

The Red Umbrella opened. Chu Songyun had also arrived. At the same time, Master Qing Cao unleashed the Yan Gate's First Needle, shooting it straight at Hong Xia.

Hong Xia glanced at Xiang Siyu, raised his hand, and took out a cubic box. It was a primal talisman. He opened it, and a sourcebox array instantly enveloped both him and Xiang Siyu.

Green Lotus’s attack fell with the others, and they all struck the sourcebox array.

The array remained undamaged. Hong Xia forcibly withstood the attacks of multiple Immortals while taking Xiang Siyu away, trying to escape from the range of the Heavenly Karmic Macrocosm.

Green Lotus immediately contracted the Macrocosm that spanned the cosmos. The resulting pressure was terrifying, and it caused the entire Aevum Inch to contract.

Hong Xia's expression grew solemn. Green Lotus's true strength was a true threat. Peering back through the sourcebox array, he said, "This woman is just a mere Dukkhan. Lu Yin has but one more chance to act. You need to save your civilization. Is she worth you taking action?"

Green Lotus continued to press forward. "And what about you? Is she worth sneaking into my Human Trio?"

Hong Xia’s eyes narrowed. In his grasp, Xiang Siyu was enduring endless pressure, and her face was still deathly pale. The pressure caused her to vomit blood, which dripped into the void. It looked like blossoming plum blossoms, drop after drop.

Suffocating pressure rushed straight towards them.

Hong Xia feared no individual in the Trio. Even if he were to face Lu Yin himself, the man was confident that he could put up a fight. Lu Yin had managed to kill Death's Dominion and had even killed Gao Tian, but that did not necessarily mean that he could kill Hong Xia. As for Green Lotus and the others, they were even less of a threat. However, every clash increased Hong Xia’s karmic chain, and that was enough to make anyone anxious.

If he could have taken the woman away without anyone noticing, it would have been fine, but he had been discovered.

From what he understood of this human civilization, they might truly push to the end to try to save this woman, especially if his suspicions were true. If he was right, Xiang Siyu was important to everyone.

Behind Green Lotus stood Chu Songyun and Master Qing Cao.

Hong Xia gave Chu Songyun's Red Umbrella and sword a long look and then glanced back at Xiang Siyu. With a casual toss, he said, "I’ll give her back to you."

Xiang Siyu's body crashed through space towards Green Lotus. He caught her and immediately checked her condition. Fortunately, she had merely fainted. Her life was not in any danger.

Hong Xia continued on towards Crimson Starshade.

Green Lotus did not pursue the man. The most important thing at this time was to protect the Trio. Fighting Hong Xia to the death would only deplete humanity’s strength. He was not worth it.

Green Lotus took Xiang Siyu back and had the Great Master take care of her.

Some time later, Xiang Siyu woke up. The Great Master quickly asked, "How are you? Is your body all right?"

Xiang Siyu lowered her head, not answering.

The Great Master grew puzzled. "What’s wrong?"

The woman’s head snapped back up and she met the Great Master's gaze. At this moment, the Great Master suddenly felt that the woman before her was not the Xiang Siyu she knew at all. Those eyes were filled with arrogance, contempt, and an incomprehensible distance. It was as if those eyes were seeing a human the same as an ant.

Xiang Siyu was looking down on the Great Master.

"You—?" The Great Master was just about to say something else when her body slowly fell.
