Chapter 4581: Coordinates

Chapter 4581: Coordinates

Lu Yin looked at Old Sixth. "Before Senior Ancestor Shan died, he wrote certain messages on the plates of the Blacklight Civilization’s One-Hundredth Seal. One of them recorded your aura. That one was left for me, as he hoped that I would be able to find you. That is why I was able to sense your presence in Joy City and went to meet you.

"In Ancestor Shan's heart, you are the most talented one in the entire history of the Seven-Treasure Anuras, surpassing even him. You are the one he thought about right before he died."

Old Sixth closed their eyes. "I know. I am the one who wronged Father. I was too willful. I am a beast."

"Master Sixth—"

Twenty-Fifth wanted to say something, but Old Sixth interrupted the little toad. "If I am at fault, then it is my fault. There is no need to deny things."

"Master Sixth, what exactly happened back then?" Twenty-Fifth asked in puzzlement.

Lu Yin was also curious. Whatever had happened in the past had to be related to why a Seven-Treasure Anura had appeared in the Death Megaverse and how they had managed to join the Death Megaverse without being granted Bone Script or being controlled. The situation was truly bizarre.

Old Sixth let out a deep sigh. They clung to their broken lotus leaf, as if doing so allowed them to sense Ancestor Shan's aura. "Old Third died... He was killed by someone from Obscura. To avenge Old Third, I acted impulsively and chased that member of Obscura all the way back to Vestigium.

"Father had no choice but to go as well, and he took me back, but after we returned, I had a quarrel with Father. The reason was simple: while in Vestigium, I saw terrors that far surpassed us Seven-Treasure Anuras. A member of Obscura there told me that, if Obscura wished it, they could destroy the Seven-Treasure Anuras at any time. The reason why they had not already acted was, to begin with, because of their rules. They had not found a suitable civilization that could be used to destroy us Seven-Treasure Anuras. Secondly, they were wary of Father's strength.

"But all of us knew that Father could not take action again. His karmic chain was close to completion, and if any fishing civilization appeared, we Seven-Treasure Anuras would be finished.

"It was at that time that a fishing civilization really did appear."

Lu Yin looked up. "The Death Megaverse."

Old Sixth nodded. "Yes, the Death Megaverse. Obscura was able to lead the Death Megaverse towards us Seven-Treasure Anuras. In fact, that was exactly what they did. It was just that an accident happened before they arrived, and the Death Megaverse changed direction. A megaverse may seem massive, but given the scope of the Aevum Inch, it is actually tiny. The slightest shift in direction will drastically alter one’s destination.

"The Seven-Treasure Anuras managed to escape that calamity, but Obscura had plenty of ways to lead the Death Megaverse back to us again."

Lu Yin's eyes flickered. They changed direction?

That should have been when the Abyss had encountered the Trio all those years ago and been led away by Greater Sancte Green Lotus.

If that was true, then humanity had saved the Seven-Treasure Anuras more than once.

If Green Lotus had not lured Death's Dominion away, the Abyssal undoubtedly would have encountered the Seven-Treasure Anuras. Even if Ancestor Shan had ultimately been able to destroy Death's Dominion, the Seven-Treasure Anuras would have still suffered.

Although the toads were a civilization used by Lan Meng, if possible, Lan Meng would have undoubtedly chosen to erase the species, as the toads were much too uncontrollable.

When war had broken out between the Blacklight Civilization and the Seven-Treasure Anuras, some being from Obscura had been secretly watching them, and their presence had forced Ancestor Shan to his death.

Obscura's determination to destroy the Seven-Treasure Anuras had not been a small matter.

"Then what condition did Obscura give you to ensure the safety of the Seven-Treasure Anuras?" Lu Yin asked.

Old Sixth glanced at Lu Yin. This human had seen through matters with just a glance. "Join the Death Megaverse."

Lu Yin was not surprised. This explained why Old Sixth had joined the Death Megaverse.

Twenty-Fifth said, "Before you left our clan, is that why you quarreled with Ancestor?"

Old Sixth exhaled heavily. "Father didn’t know that I wanted to join the Death Megaverse. I only told him that I wanted to go out and find a way to break the situation. If I had stayed in our clan, I would never be able to surpass Obscura.

"Father tried to force me to stay because he was afraid that I would go out and cause trouble with Obscura again, but in the end, Father failed to keep me behind.

"If he had known back then that I wanted to join the Death Megaverse, he would have forced me to stay, even if it meant attacking me."

Twenty-Fifth's expression grew conflicted. So this was what had happened. No one in the clan would ever mention anything concerning Master Sixth because their ancestor’s mood would immediately sour.

But everything that Master Sixth had done was for the sake of their clan.

"Who killed Master Third back then?" Twenty-Fifth asked.

Old Sixth did not answer.

Lu Yin spoke up, "Whoever killed him isn’t important. You might have even been targeted from the very beginning, and the only one capable of doing something like that is the Keeper of Balance."

How could Old Sixth have found Vestigium? Of course, it was because Obscura had deliberately allowed the toad to find it. Otherwise, once a gate opened, how could Old Sixth have possibly located Obscura?

The Seven-Treasure Anuras’ Old Third had died, which indicated that the one who had fled to the Tianyuan with Astral Anura should have been Old Third’s mate, Astral Anura's great-grandmother. She must have also been the toad that Emperor Wu Slayer had seen in the Aevum Inch.

The sequence of events had become very clear.

"If I am not mistaken, Obscura helped you enter the Death Megaverse without being controlled," Lu Yin said.

Old Sixth said, "Obscura did help, but the real reason for that was my deal with Thousand Machinations. Obscura only helped me find Thousand Machinations."

"What deal?" Lu Yin asked.

Old Sixth looked at him. "Coordinates. Coordinates to invincibility."

Lu Yin's body shook. Coordinates to invincibility? Could they be the same coordinates that Ancestor Shan had recorded on a plate of armor?

There were a total of three plates with those coordinates. Lu Yin had already obtained two, so as long as he obtained one more, he would be able to locate the place.

"You know those coordinates?"

Old Sixth spoke in a low voice, "Father should have carved those coordinates on the plates of armor, right? I only know two pieces, and there should be a total of three to make the complete set. Father never told anyone all three, though I don’t know why.

"Actually, when I argued with Father back then, I also said that he should let me search for the coordinates to invincibility so that I could become invincible and protect our clan, but Father refused. He never even gave me a reason.

"It was precisely because of those two partial coordinates that Thousand Machinations agreed to allow me to join the Death Megaverse without granting me Bone Script while still treating me the same as every other being of the Death Megaverse.

"From that moment on, I stayed at Thousand Machinations' side and translated for it. They always treated me fairly well.

"When we went to Withered Requiem’s Abyss, I also tested Thousand Machinations by asking if I could contend for the position of Abyssal. I did not expect them to actually agree."

Lu Yin asked, "Did Thousand Machinations say anything about those coordinates?"

Old Sixth shook their head. "They never said anything, and I didn’t ask. Asking would have been pointless. There were only two parts to the coordinates anyway, so nothing could really be said.

"Since Father refused to let me go, he must have done so for my sake. Although a chance of invincibility exists, it may not be suitable for us."

Lu Yin did not believe that true invincibility existed in the cosmos. The so-called invincibility was merely reaching the limit of all creatures’ understanding of a certain power. For example, he did not believe that anyone could surpass the power of something like the River of Aeons’ main stream.

Because all living beings were born from the Aevum Inch, they would inevitably return to the Aevum Inch in the end.

If true invincibility could be found at those coordinates, why had Ancestor Shan not gone there himself?

However, even if true invincibility was impossible, some kind of supreme power must be at the location indicated by the coordinates. It had to be something powerful enough that even Thousand Machinations was willing to indulge Old Sixth.

As for the latest battle, Lu Yin did not know if Thousand Machinations knew that Old Sixth would betray the Death Megaverse, but the significance of whatever lay at those coordinates was undoubtedly astronomical.

Lu Yin asked about the coordinates. He had two, and Old Sixth had two. Since the full set was just three pieces, there was a chance that the toad had the missing piece.

Old Sixth shared the portion of the coordinates that they knew, and Lu Yin likewise did not hide anything, sharing his own two pieces.

They quickly saw that each of them had one portion of the coordinates that had been previously unknown to the other. This meant that they had the complete coordinates now.

Lu Yin looked in a certain direction. These coordinates used the location of the Seven-Treasure Anuras’ seven colored lake as a reference point, even though that lake moved. It had shifted since Old Sixth had left, but the location at that time could be calculated. After doing so, it became clear that the reference point for the coordinates was the location of the Seven-Treasure Anuras during their war against the Blacklight Civilization. Lu Yin already knew where that was.

It was very far away, but he could find it.

"What do you plan to do next?" Lu Yin asked.

Old Sixth rubbed Twenty-Fifth's head and answered in a low voice, "Join Obscura. You already said that Father's death had something to do with someone within Obscura. If that being had not been watching him, Father could have escaped, right?"

Lu Yin nodded. "Everyone knows that, including the members of Obscura. I tried to test them from the inside, but I could not find out who was watching him. You want to enter Obscura to search for them?"

"Obscura promised me that, as long as I dealt with an Abyssal, I could join. They also promised that they would no longer target my Seven-Treasure Anuras with other civilizations. While Father is already dead, our kin are still alive. I do not care where Old First and the others went, but Father's death must be avenged."

"Yes, Master Sixth. I will go with you!" Twenty-Fifth excitedly agreed.

Lu Yin's expression turned solemn. "I will not stop you from trying to take revenge, but how can you be certain that the one who sent you to the Death Megaverse isn’t the same one who watched Ancestor Shan and forced him to his death?"

Old Sixth fell silent.

"And how can you be certain that all this isn’t just some conspiracy by Obscura as a whole? I have also joined Obscura. We are us, and Obscura is Obscura. Even now, I have not seen through that monster. If you join rashly, you will only end up being used. Taking 10,000 steps back, even if the one watching Ancestor Shan and forcing him to his death acted alone, as soon as you join Obscura, your identity will be instantly exposed, and you will also end up at a disadvantage.

"You are in the open, while that being is hidden in the dark. They were even able to watch Ancestor Shan and force him to his death. That is not someone that you can deal with." Lu Yin spoke slowly.

Old Sixth looked at him. "Then what do you think I should do?"

Lu Yin rubbed his head. He did not know either. Not only Old Sixth, but Old First had also wanted to join Obscura before.

In truth, Lu Yin hoped that Old Sixth would join. That way, Lu Yin would have another ally inside of Obscura.

However, the truth was exactly as Lu Yin had analyzed; if Old Sixth joined, the most likely outcome was that the toad would be used. At that point, forget revenge, but the toad would not even know how they died.

Moreover, if Old Sixth joined Obscura, they would have to choose a color of divine energy. At that point, Lu Yin would be the one forced into a corner.

He had never gone to Vestigium because he was wary of Obscura. The Immortal Lord had not chosen a divine energy color because of Lu Yin, fearing that doing so would force Lu Yin to go to Vestigium. If Old Sixth joined Obscura but also refused to choose a color, how could such a choice be explained?

Likely, no matter what sort of excuse was given, the toad’s connection to Lu Yin could not be kept hidden, especially since the Trio and the Seven-Treasure Anuras already had a minor alliance in place.

"He should join Obscura," Ji stated, drawing everyone's gaze.

This was the first time that he had spoken. "Use Devouring Trace’s death as an accomplishment to join Obscura. At the same time, that will give us an excuse to return to the Death Megaverse."

Lu Yin's eyes flickered. "Thousand Machinations knows that Chen has also joined Obscura."

"But Old Sixth does not know that and neither does Devouring Trace. That is enough," Ji said slowly.
