Chapter 4555: Sealed
Chapter 4555: Sealed
Countless streams of Myriad Metal Qi fell. More and more Lepids appeared both above and below them. No matter if they were strong or weak, all of them attacked the sourcebox array with Myriad Metal Qi. They wanted to wear the Stillness away.
Suddenly, one Lepid turned back. “Be careful!”
Myriad Metal Qi filled the sky as they attacked the sourcebox array, but several strands of Myriad Metal Qi also shot at the Lepids. Those were the Yan Gate's First Needle.
Lu Yin had used Myriad Metal Qi to unleash the First Needle, hiding the attacks within all of the Myriad Metal Qi to launch a sneak attack.
However, he had underestimated the Lepids. There were multiple Immortals present, and they not only possessed the legacies and absolute means of their civilization, but also their own cosmic laws and unseen worlds.
He had thought that he would be able to successfully launch a sneak attack against one or two with this method and trap at least one more. However, his efforts had been seen through.
All of the Lepids avoided the First Needles. Three of them then spread out to stand guard in three different directions around the sourcebox array, preventing Lu Yin from launching another ambush.
He had no choice but to retreat once more. It was going to be difficult to ambush these Lepids again. Five of them had joined forces, and they showed no intention of immediately chasing him down. They were solely focused on breaking the sourcebox array. Fine. Since you want to break it, then let’s see if you break while I attack you.
Lu Yin stood in outer space. He maintained a great distance from the five Lepids, but he allowed them to see him clearly. Lifeforce surged out and shot upward, forming needle after needle. With a casual wave of his hand, he sent them forward.
Countless First Needles pierced the sky.
For powerhouses at his level, it was not difficult to send an attack across an entire megaverse.
The First Needles fell like raindrops. The Lepids hurriedly dodged, not daring to allow any to land.
The Yan Gate's First Needle and Endless Recall had already become the skeleton clone's best sneak attacks. Whoever was struck by either would run out of luck.
Lu Yin interfered with the Lepids as they attacked the sourcebox array, just as they had previously interfered with his study of the sourcebox array.
However, the Lepids were not stupid, and they quickly came up with a solution. They made other Lepids gather together and surround the sourcebox array in layers. Essentially, they were shielding the sourcebox array with their own bodies.
The First Needle could still strike them, but it was not an attack that harmed the body. Each needle would disappear as soon as it struck a Lepid. As long an Immortal was not struck, the other Lepids did not matter at all.
Lu Yin immediately stopped his attacks. Targeting ordinary Lepids with the First Needle was simply too wasteful. He instead attacked with the Duality Seal. One palm strike after another crossed the sky, blasting towards the sourcebox array.
The ordinary Lepids were simply blasted apart. The Duality Seals swept past the sourcebox array and attacked the Immortal Lepids that surrounded it.
Those Lepids could only dodge since they did not want to simply endure the attacks.
To break the sourcebox array, the Immortal Lepids had to serve as the main defending force. But if they were preoccupied, the other Lepids would stand no chance of breaking the sourcebox array.
Left with no choice, three of the Immortal Lepids moved towards Lu Yin.
Three of them? That’s still doable. Lu Yin took a deep breath. His goal was to separate the five Immortal Lepids.
Five was more than what he could handle. Butterfly Bloom was enough to reduce his combat strength by more than half, and the attacks from Bloomdance Transfer could beat him until he was not even able to fight back.
However, he could risk facing just three Lepids.
Lu Yin stood in place. There was no attempt to flee.
The three Lepids continued to move closer. “He wants to fight us.”
“A creature who is not an Immortal intends to fight three Immortal beings? How vicious.”
“Let’s end this.”
As soon as they finished speaking to each other, three flower marks of Butterfly Bloom appeared on Lu Yin's body. They appeared on his shoulder, back, and chest. They had happened to appear in three different directions, which would be enough to interfere with Lu Yin's attacks.
He clenched his fists, and his bones produced cracking sounds.
Bang, bang, bang!
Three consecutive attacks struck from three different directions as the Lepids used Bloomdance Transfer. At the same time, Lu Yin felt his strength being drained away, and he was struck by a sudden sense of exhaustion.
Two absorbing my physical strength and one absorbing my consciousness?
He did not know if what Butterfly Bloom absorbed was random or controllable, but it should be random. If the Lepids could control it, they should have all focused on absorbing his consciousness and rendering him unable to even move.
His head rose up, and his legs bent. He shot forward, pushing layer after layer of the void apart. Black Stillness tore the void open like a cloak. He unleashed Endless Recall straight ahead of him.
Space shattered. A mirror?
This was an unseen world. Lu Yin's palm struck nothing.
The three Lepids circled around him, wanting to use Butterfly Bloom to sap his strength away while using their worlds to maintain their distance from him.
Lu Yin endured the attacks of the three Immortal Lepids. His bones kept shaking; losing his physical strength made his own attacks unstable, while the loss of consciousness exhausted him even more.
Sure enough, dealing with three at once was a grueling ordeal. If the Butterfly Bloom that all ten Lepids targeted him with were all transferred to the Lepidarch, Lu Yin would have no chance of fighting back at all. Just having ten Butterfly Bloom marks draining him would doom him beyond saving.
Fortunately, he had discovered a workaround beforehand.
Stillness surged into his body from star after star. His skeleton body stood in outer space, enveloped by darkness.
The three Lepids flew around him, only wanting to stall for more time.
Lu Yin suddenly attacked. Facing one Lepid, he rose upwards as he shot forward and released a diagonal slash: Cosmic Erasure. Darkness shrouded the region. It was as if heaven and earth had ceased to exist at that moment. It was as if the entire universe had disappeared.
Beneath Thousand Machinations’ Abyss, in addition to learning the Three Death Arts, Lu Yin had also learned other battle techniques from the Death Codex. The fact that these battle techniques were qualified to be included in the Death Codex was evidence of just how powerful they were.
Lu Yin had not used any of them before this because there had been no need. His own techniques had been enough to handle whatever he had encountered, and besides that, he needed to keep some trump cards hidden for the Lepidarch.
However, he no longer had the luxury of keeping them in reserve. These Lepids were already on guard against the Yan Gate's First Needle and Endless Recall, so he had no choice but to use techniques that they had not encountered yet.
Cosmic Erasure was Withered Requiem's ultimate technique. It could even be said that Thousand Machinations had specially created it for Withered Requiem. It could unleash shocking power and had once been used to instantly defeat Zhou.
This move could only reveal its greatest power when Withered Requiem used it. In comparison, Lu Yin had only grasped its basic form. Learning the technique was one thing, but no true powerhouse merely learned a battle technique. In a true master’s hands, a battle technique could display a power that far surpassed its normal limits. However, that did not matter. Lu Yin had no intention of deeply studying Cosmic Erasure.
This attack relied on surprise.
Cosmic Erasure shattered the mirror, which was one of the Lepids’ unseen world. It was almost like the universe had been transformed into a mirror image, only to be completely crushed by the Cosmic Erasure.
Darkness descended upon the Immortal Lepid itself. In front of the creature, countless strands of Myriad Metal Qi condensed and then shot back at the Cosmic Erasure.
After Lu Yin unleashed his attack, he opened his hands. Streams of Stillness spread out in all directions. These black lines were another battle technique from the Death Codex: Blackpath.
Countless black lines spread out like a dark lotus blooming in the starry sky before suddenly closing. All the black lines merged toward one direction. Along the way were two colorful Lepids, who hurriedly released various powers to obstruct them. One of them even made the starry sky grow heavy. It was another unseen world again.
The other was the colorful Lepid that had astonishingly resisted Cosmic Erasure. Now, it had to deal with the closing black lines as well. Fortunately, the third Lepid helped out, barely blocking the merging lines for a short moment.
Lu Yin looked up and turned to face one of the Lepids. He lightly tapped the void, releasing another battle technique from the Death Codex: Final Age.
Two points struck the void, connected to each other, and surrounded a Lepid.
This was the same Lepid that had managed to block the Blackpath on its own.
When the two points appeared, the Lepid’s movements paused, and a gray mist spread out. It was the power of time. There had been no need for Lu Yin to ask; he knew that Thousand Machinations had specially created this battle technique for Ruinfall as it used the power of time, which made it best suited for a ferryman of the River of Aeons.
Lu Yin had not struggled at all to learn this technique, as his own mastery of the power of time was quite advanced. Even though that was with his true body, his true body and clone shared one mind and one understanding. Thus, it was very easy for him to comprehend this technique.
It was also very impressive.
Time's Final Days referred to the closing stretch of time itself. "Time" was naturally time, "days" denoted the final span, and "final" referred to the ultimate conclusion. When Lu Yin had first learned this battle technique beneath the Abyss, he had been amazed by it.
This was his first time actually unleashing it.
The two points in the void were actually two nodes of time. Within those two nodes, a being could only repeat what it had done during those two temporal nodes. The attack was the final piece of the technique, which released the time in the two nodes. Time was released, but when one attacked, time also existed. It was not possible to alter the time of the River of Aeons’ main stream.
Essentially, the temporal nodes meant that two moments of time were existing simultaneously, which was only possible because they were separated by a distance; one was before and the other after. The existence of distance meant the birth of space, and space itself contained time to create an infinite cycle. While it seemed infinite, it could instantly erase everything, becoming a point of eruption due to the contradiction between time and space.
All of the battle techniques in the Death Codex used Stillness, and darkness descended.
Lu Yin had grown far more wary of Thousand Machinations after learning the techniques in the Death Codex. That bear was far too talented.
If Ruinfall used Time’s Final Days, not to mention the Lepid Lu Yin was attacking, even the Lepidarch would suffer greatly.
Unfortunately, Lu Yin's realm was too low, and he had not studied the battle techniques in detail, so he was only able to unleash a rather ordinary power from them.
The Lepids managed to block all three battle techniques, but once a fourth appeared, all of their resistance became pale and meaningless: Hell’s Advent.
This was yet another battle technique from the Death Codex, and it had been Death's Dominion’s move. It had not stood out much when the Abyssal had attacked the Human Trio, but that was because this was not a battle technique for killing. It was for bestowal. It was a means of bestowing Bone Script upon all living creatures within its range, as well as empowering all techniques that used Stillness. That was the true terror of Hell’s Advent.
If Lu Yin had not used his own power to restrain this technique, then even if the Trio had managed to persist, all of humanity would have been transformed into skeletons.
Hell’s Advent fell, and Stillness surged into the Cosmic Erasure, the Blackpath, and Time’s Final Days. In an instant, darkness devoured everything.
Cosmic Erasure flashed by and vanished. The Blackpath merged, tearing a Lepid’s wings apart. Within Time’s Final Days, another Lepid fell.
Both Myriad Metal Qi and the Lepids’ unseen worlds were all shattered in an instant.
Lu Yin vanished three times in succession, attacking with three palm strikes and sending the three Lepids flying in three different directions. He then raised his hand and snapped his fingers; three pillars of Stillness shot into the sky as the sourcebox arrays activated just in time to trap the Lepids.
In an instant, all three were trapped within sourcebox arrays.
While the series of events seemed lengthy, the reality was that Lu Yin had used merely four battle techniques to end the battle. Each of the three Lepids were heavily injured, though none had died. They were merely trapped.
Lu Yin had consumed a tremendous amount of Stillness yet again, but it was worth the expenditure. Without doing so, he would not have been able to trap these three Lepids.
Far away, the remaining two Immortal Lepids were both stunned.
Across the entire Lepidarch Continent, every creature that had witnessed this battle was similarly stunned. He had defeated three Immortal beings in an instant. Was this real? Was this something that a creature could do before reaching the Immortal realm themselves? How was this even possible?
