Chapter 4419: No Mercy

Chapter 4419: No Mercy

Lu Yin turned to look at the Immortal eagle-beast. "Is that all?"

As he spoke, he tightened his grip, releasing an immense force that simply crushed the claw in his hand. The eagle-beast wailed and tried to pull back, but its body was firmly restrained.

Lifeforce surged from its body and fiercely crashed down upon Lu Yin while Immortal matter twined around a strand of lightning that shot out.

Lu Yin did not move at all. He simply allowed the attacks to land, but none of the creature’s attacks could harm him in the slightest. His hand continued to hold the eagle-beast’s claw in place.

Thunder roared, and the entire Thunderous Megaverse trembled. Endless lightning erupted in flashes that illuminated Lu Yin’s face, as well as the eagle-beast’s bewildered eyes.

The beast continuously struggled to break free from Lu Yin, but it could not escape. It was held as easily as a chick.

Shan Yue was utterly stunned. This was the Immortal eagle-beast, the powerful creature that had once driven them away from their home and rendered his master helpless. But at this moment, it appeared so miserable and weak.

The eagle-beast screamed, "What level of powerhouse are you? Isn’t the Immortal realm the limit? Who exactly are you?"

It could not understand this. It had clearly broken into the Immortal realm and become an Immortal being, which should be the ultimate level for all creatures. Despite the fact that this human did not give off the aura of an Immortal, he was still terrifyingly strong, to the point where the eagle-beast was completely unable to fight back.

This person clearly had surpassed the Immortal realm and achieved a level that it simply could not comprehend. Given that human civilization actually had such a powerhouse, the eagle-beasts should not have driven them away.

"Shan Yue."

Shan Yue replied respectfully, "Lord Lu."

"What do you want to say to it now?" Lu Yin asked.

Shan Yue stared at the eagle-beast, which was struggling violently, letting out roaring lightning, and yet was still unable to break free. After thinking for a moment, the man shouted, "You beast! You are not even worthy to be my mount!"

The eagle-beast was enraged, and its Lifeforce erupted even more violently.

Lu Yin was speechless. He’s still too reserved.

There was a crack as the claw broke. The eagle-beast flashed and disappeared, only leaving a flicker of lightning behind as it fled.

"Lord Lu, it escaped!" Shan Yue said.

Lu Yin replied, "It can’t escape."

He then also vanished, teleporting away.

A moment later, in a distant corner of the megaverse, Lu Yin appeared directly above the eagle-beast, standing on its head.

The beast flipped over while unleashing a battle technique.

Lu Yin was surprised. "That should be one of the Mountain Sword Sect’s battle techniques, isn’t it? You really did receive quite a lot from them. Humanity’s common flaw is being too merciful. For some beings, the higher they stand, the more disdain they feel for those weaker, but humans are different. Their mercy and sympathy make them willing to accept such pitiful creatures, but they do not realize that some creatures are not worthy of being accepted."

Tri-Azure Sword Intent slashed out, severing another one of the eagle-beast’s claws.

It wailed, "Human powerhouse, I am willing to submit! Please do not kill me! I am willing to become your mount!"

Lu Yin’s expression grew cold. "Shan Yue already said it—you are not worthy."

With that, another slash of the Tri-Azure Sword Intent sliced out, tearing the eagle-beast’s body open and splattering its blood across the starry sky. The creature tried to flee, lightning lashing out wildly as it raced out of the Thunderous Megaverse. It did not dare to stay.

But Lu Yin effortlessly caught up to it yet again, and his Tri-Azure Sword Intent repeatedly cut into it, bringing the eagle-beast wave after wave of despair.

It struggled, begged for mercy, and fought back, yet everything was useless. Beneath Lu Yin’s might, it was absolutely suppressed and everything it could do seemed like nothing more than a joke.

It even attempted to go back and kill Shan Yue, to use the man as leverage against Lu Yin, but it was unable to even approach him. When the eagle-beast was right in front of Shan Yue’s eyes, it was cut again, receiving a severe injury that drenched its body in its own blood.

The Champions’ Stage Purgatory appeared, and Lu Yin casually threw the beast inside. He then looked at Shan Yue. "How should the rest of these eagle-beasts be dealt with?"

Shan Yue said, "I do not know."

Lu Yin looked around the megaverse. All of the eagle-beasts had hidden themselves and the creatures that had dared to release their aura earlier were suddenly trembling.

How should they be dealt with?

The Thunderous Megaverse was home to countless eagle-beasts. They had already dominated this megaverse and formed a cosmic civilization. If their Immortal survived, then with just a bit of luck, their kind would continue to produce more Immortals.

In fact, even if their Immortal was killed, the eagle-beasts as a species would retain the knowledge of how to break into the Immortal realm. Regardless of whether their own talent was sufficient for them to succeed in such a breakthrough, they at least had a path to Immortality.

This path had been opened up for them by humanity, and yet they were enemies of humanity.

"Then let this Thunderous Megaverse be the eagle-beasts’ grave." Lu Yin put away the Zenith Mountain and led Shan Yue away. Lu Yin then raised his hand, and a strand of Tri-Azure Sword Intent appeared above his palm.

Shan Yue knew what Lu Yin intended to do, but he did not stop him. Their home was now the Trio. If the eagle-beasts of the Thunderous Megaverse were not eliminated, the fate of the Mountain Sword Sect might one day repeat. There was no need to keep an enemy that had been given power through a moment of human mercy.

The eagle-beast had used the Mountain Sword Sect’s ancestor to gain the opportunity to break into the Immortal realm, and now its species would perish because of that same opportunity.

The wall in Lu Yin’s heart consisted of both white and black bricks. He was not a merciful person. There was no need for mercy in the cosmos.

With one sweep of his sword intent, the megaverse was reset.

Countless eagle-beasts wailed and tried to rush out, but none could escape.

Lu Yin stood with his hands behind his back, calmly watching. The way of Dao cycles, as does life.

When the Immortal eagle-beast emerged from the Champions’ Stage Purgatory, it saw that the Thunderous Megaverse had already reset.

It ignored everything else and immediately begged Lu Yin for mercy, as well as Shan Yue.

Lu Yin casually ended the Immortal eagle-beast’s life. Such a creature would only be a threat if it was taken back to the Trio. He did not want to worry about such a betrayal when facing powerful enemies in the future. Enemies needed to be completely removed.

The matter of the Mountain Sword Sect was thus concluded. From this point forward, its people would remain in the Trio and gradually integrate into them.

Next, Lu Yin entered Manifest City. He still intended to find the Heartbond Nonduality and the method to control the guardian artifact.

After the previous chaos, many objects throughout Manifest City had needed to be remade: tables, chairs, and even slippers. Chickens, ducks, fish, dogs, and more had also needed to be replaced. At this moment, there were almost no outsiders within Manifest City.

Lu Yin transformed back into a bird and circled the city from above. Accompanying him was the Immortal stone monster.

He decided to observe every person, household, place, and stone inside of Manifest City. Lu Yin refused to believe that after 100, 1,000, or 10,000 years, he still would not be able to understand this place. There would come a day when he found the method.

What was hidden by people could also be found by other people.

"Then should we also check the stones in the latrine?" the stone monster asked, only to be immediately thrown into one by Lu Yin.

"Find out for me."

***

In the blink of an eye, 300 years passed. For cultivators, time passed quickly. During those three centuries, a new generation arose in the Human Trio. The Ten Arbiters, the Cosmic Five, the occupants of the Scion Spire, and many others from Lu Yin’s memories became nothing more than history.

300 years was not long enough for much to happen.

Lu Yin remained in Manifest City. He had observed many people there, but he had not found the Heartbond Nonduality yet. Instead, he discovered that it was possible to use Willforce within Manifest City, which was completely unexpected. He had believed that no power could be used within the guardian artifact.

He was just a small bird, afraid of even the most ordinary of arrows, and yet he could still use Willforce.

The first time he used Willforce, he grew excited. He had instantly become invincible.

But why could Willforce be used in Manifest City? The only explanation that Lu Yin could come up with was based on something Senior You Wu had said: Willforce was able to break the Formless Heaven Art. Since that was a heart technique, only another heart technique could counter it. Perhaps Willforce was their natural counter and so-called counters could actually complement each other.

The Plume Immortals’ teleportation countered the Path of Dispassion, and yet the Path of Dispassion also had ways to restrain teleportation. Willforce could counter heart techniques, but heart techniques could likely lead to Willforce as well.

That was the only possibility that Lu Yin could think of.

So, he began observing Manifest City with Willforce. This made things much more convenient, as Willforce allowed him to see into people’s hearts. He could perceive and experience far more. Even better, using Willforce in Manifest City was also a form of cultivation, and his Willforce kept growing stronger.

Within Manifest City, his Willforce was initially only able to cover a single household, but then it expanded to two, three, five, and more. Outside of the guardian artifact, his range with Willforce also increased significantly. Even if it did not multiply exponentially, the increase was still quite remarkable.

Regardless of whether Willforce could help him find the method to control the guardian artifact, its range was still growing. If one day it could envelop multiple megaverses, then the strength of his Willforce would be directly tied to how many megaverses it covered.

Merging with a single megaverse had already been enough to let Lu Yin block an attack from the Immortal Lord. What then about two, ten, or more megaverses?

Willforce had always been regarded as a joke throughout the Aevum Inch, but Lu Yin felt that he had turned that joke into reality.

Moreover, Willforce was the only power that could be used in Manifest City, which meant that it was very likely the key to finding the method of controlling it. This path could not be wrong.

As Lu Yin continued to cultivate, more paths had appeared before him, one by one. All that remained was to walk them to the very end.

One day, when he emerged from Manifest City, he discovered Ancestor Lu Yuan and Ancient God waiting for him. Lu Yin was surprised. Why are they here?

Upon seeing Lu Yin, Ancestor Lu Yuan let out a sigh of relief. "Musclehead is about to break into the Immortal realm. Can you help him find a megaverse that can be reset?"

Lu Yin was surprised and looked over at Ancient God. "Senior, you’re breaking through into Immortality?"

Ancient God nodded, and Lu Yin examined the man. His aura was steady, having become a peak Dukkhan long ago. He now gave off a sense of an imminent breakthrough.

"Alright, let’s go." Lu Yin immediately took Ancient God to a megaverse and reset it.

Over the years, Ancestor Lu Yuan and a number of others had been creating a star chart of the Trio’s surroundings, which had enabled Lu Yin to see a number of megaverses. Some contained no civilization at all, while others were prosperous and had many Progenitor-level creatures, though none were beyond that level.

The megaverse that Lu Yin chose to reset was one of those. The civilization occupying it was repulsive at first glance, but it also had many Progenitor-level beings and had spread throughout many parallel universes.

Even the megaverse’s Mother Tree had been contaminated by the creatures.

They had already planned to reset that megaverse, which made it perfect for Ancient God.

Watching the man enter, the megaverse was immediately reset.

Lu Yin sighed, "I didn’t expect Senior Ancient God to be the first of you to attempt an Immortal breakthrough."

Ancestor Lu Yuan replied, "Compared to us, Musclehead has experienced more."

His tone then shifted, "Though he brought that upon himself..."

Lu Yin chuckled. The bonds between their generation were truly strong.
