Chapter 1026: The Intangible Call
Chapter 1026: Chapter 1026: The Intangible Call
The sky was clearly empty, nothing in sight. But it was as if there was a presence calling out to him. Yes, calling out to him.
It was a sense of familiarity as if it were part of his own body. Right there in the sky. Yet within this familiar calling, he also felt a strong sense of crisis. He shouldn’t go, for if he did, death was certain. That was the feeling.
This contradiction made Lan Xuanyu somewhat dazed, nearly forgetting the original purpose of his journey.
What was it? What was hidden in that empty sky?
“Ah Bao, do you feel it?” Lan Xuanyu asked the Treasure Hunting Beast in his mind.
“Ah? Feel what? Master,” the Treasure Hunting Beast replied somewhat blankly.
Lan Xuanyu was startled, the Treasure Hunting Beast didn’t feel it? That meant only he could feel it. It was worth noting that although the Treasure Hunting Beast was not skilled in combat, it possessed divine consciousness, which was of God Rank at the spiritual level, far stronger than his.
Yet even so, the Treasure Hunting Beast still couldn’t feel the presence in the sky. What did that mean? It meant that it was a unique sensation that only he could feel.
Upon condensing spirit and looking inward, Lan Xuanyu discovered that at the core of his Bloodline Whirlpool, the Dragon Core was emitting a light that was noticeably brighter than usual, and the bloodline power throughout his body felt somewhat restless. Perhaps this was the reason for his intense feelings.
Related to the Dragon God’s bloodline? That also meant it had something to do with the dragon bloodline. Could it be that this secret in the sky was also the great secret hidden by the Sky Dragon Clan? And this secret could possibly relate to the ancient transformation of dragons.
He took a deep breath, suppressing the impulse in his heart. Of course, he could not rush into the sky to explore this secret now. Even with the protection of the Emerald Demon Warship, he might never return. Everything would have to wait until he became stronger.
Without a doubt, Sky Dragon City was a place he would inevitably visit in the future. Now, he was still too weak and hadn’t the strength to seek opportunities here.
Reining in his thoughts, calming himself down, Lan Xuanyu also let a faint smile grace his face, deciding to complete the most important purpose of his trip first.
Thinking this way, Lan Xuanyu quickened his pace, walking forward while instructing the Treasure Hunting Beast to activate its divine consciousness to sense whether there were any other such presences around.
About ten minutes later, his pace slowed, and he gradually entered a narrower street.
After weaving through for a while, he returned to a broader street.
Fenglong City was already immense, but Sky Dragon City was even larger. In the Dragon Horse Galaxy, only Sky Horse City could compare to it.
As Lan Xuanyu walked, his own aura also began to converge, as he waited, waited for the right time. At the same time, he was experiencing this city.
Sky Dragon City was truly bustling, far more so than any other city Lan Xuanyu had seen. He even saw many of the Dragon Clan members with clothes, accessories, and jewelry.
Here, it seemed, the most popular items were those sparkling, translucent, and shining objects. He passed by some shops, which mostly sold these kinds of things.
Time ticked by, and the night grew late, with fewer and fewer people on the streets. Even the most bustling city had its time to sleep each day, only here, it was a bit later than in ordinary cities.
Only deep into the night did Lan Xuanyu stop in a shadowy corner of an alley, communicating briefly with the Treasure Hunting Beast in his mind.
With a flash of green light, the Emerald Demon Warship appeared silently beside him. The warship was so small that under Lan Xuanyu’s control, it resembled a large bird, perched against the wall next to him. That way, he could enter the Emerald Demon Warship at a moment’s notice, quickly escaping into the distance.
“Ah Bao, begin,” Lan Xuanyu inwardly commanded.
The next instant, the Treasure Hunting Beast squeezed out from between Lan Xuanyu’s eyebrows, “Master, are you sure we should do this?”
Lan Xuanyu nodded, “We must. This is the real reason I came to Sky Dragon Planet.”
The Treasure Hunting Beast no longer spoke as Lan Xuanyu took out a gleaming piece of metal from his Ring of Destiny and handed it to the creature.
A surge of divine consciousness flowed around the Treasure Hunting Beast, solidifying around it like something tangible. Within this solidified divine consciousness, a silver figure was released.
It was soundly asleep until it sensed something and gingerly opened its eyes, somewhat bemusedly looking towards Lan Xuanyu.
Lan Xuanyu offered a slight smile, handing over the piece of magic silver, “Here you go, time to eat.”
Little Lazy Bug was overjoyed. With just an open mouth, it gobbled up the piece of magic silver. The hard metal was like tofu in its mouth, easily chewed and swallowed. Immediately, the silver glow on its body visibly became a few shades more intense.
Lan Xuanyu nodded at the Treasure Hunting Beast.
At the very next moment, the Treasure Hunting Beast instantly released the solidified divine consciousness that was guarding them.
The silver glow almost immediately rippled out from Little Lazy Bug, creating a resonance that instantly affected the surrounding space so much that everything nearby, including buildings, seemed to twist in that instant.
“Move,” Lan Xuanyu uttered lowly. With a flash of light, the Treasure Hunting Beast had already wrapped up Little Lazy Bug and instantly returned to his brow.
With a flicker, Lan Xuanyu dived into the Emerald Demon Warship, and the next instant, the warship hit full speed and vanished into thin air, leaving only a fleeting green flash.
Seconds after their departure, two silvery figures suddenly materialized out of nowhere. They were, remarkably, two tall members of the Sky Domination Clan.
Amazement and excitement filled their eyes as they exclaimed, “It’s the breath of a Void Bug, no doubt about it. It has to be. Apart from it, no other being could emit such a level of spatial fluctuation. The Void Bug is actually on Sky Dragon Planet, right here in Sky Dragon City. It’s right here! The Sky Dragon Clan, it must be them.”
As for the reaction of Sky Dragon City, Lan Xuanyu wasn’t aware, nor did he care to be. He didn’t even know if what he’d just done would have the expected effect as he’d surmised. But he was eighty percent confident that it would work.
His real purpose in coming to Sky Dragon Planet was to make the Void Bug appear here momentarily, in a way that all the top powerhouses could feel, truly appear.
This move, crudely put, was about framing someone else for the crime, and who else could he frame but the Sky Dragon Clan, the very group Lan Xuanyu hated most?
The No. 76 Planet had been destroyed, and the tremendous devastation from the Space Source Crystal’s explosion had driven the entire Sky Domination Clan to madness. Otherwise, they wouldn’t desperately come to Sky Dragon Planet at any cost to buy back the Space Source Crystals.
For the Sky Domination Clan, the Space Source Crystal wasn’t just a resource; it was a treasured cornerstone of their survival and strength. Without it, their decline was foreseeable. That much was clear to everyone. Thus, they would spare no expense to retrieve the Space Source Crystals that were lost. They probably didn’t even realize that the Void Bug had been taken, or even thought that it might have been killed in the explosion.
After all, the defenses on No. 76 Planet had been so tight.
Following logical reasoning, the Sky Domination Clan’s first thought would certainly be that the Void Bug had some issue that led to the explosion. However, upon careful investigation, traces of the Anger of the Dragon would still be found. In other words, the explosions would have been revealed to be man-made. Furthermore, Lan Xuanyu and his companions had used Antimatter missiles to destroy No. 76 Planet’s protective shield, indicating that someone had attempted to infiltrate it at the time.
Yet the Sky Domination Clan had detected no trace of their presence and were in the dark about whether the Void Bug had truly been stolen or had been killed in the explosion.
