Chapter 2146: General Gebuchi’s Choice
The front-line command post of the Kingdom of Gebuchi.
"General, things are in complete chaos back in the royal city."
Many people believe that we should now withdraw some troops to support the capital.
It's obvious the enemy is aiming for the capital.
"If the royal city falls, no one can bear the responsibility!" The subordinate looked at General Gebuchi, who was in charge of the attack on the Kingdom of Aalburg.
General Gebuchi slammed his fist on the sand table in front of him: "Withdraw?"
Do you think these guys from the Kingdom of Aalborg in front of us will let us retreat so easily?
If we withdraw our troops now, it will first and foremost cause distrust among our allies, who will think we are cowardly and have betrayed them.
And the army of the Kingdom of Aalborg will pursue us.
They also have mechanized units.
We will suffer enormous losses in the future.
In doing so, our offensive was thwarted.
It will take at least a year and a half to stop the next wave of attacks.
The enemy has already achieved its objective.
Do you see those soldiers and weapons from the Kingdom of Aalborg?
The small island nation mentioned in previous intelligence reports started out by trading.
Is this what you call trade?
Who uses tanks for trade?
That's the kind of weaponry they have.
If we give them another year or two, it will be very difficult for us to eliminate the Kingdom of Aalborg and the Kingdom of Baljik by then.
The Kingdom of Baljik has already undergone a major purge, and all the corrupt officials from before have been purged.
The military strength of the Baljik Kingdom is rapidly recovering.
Don't underestimate the Baljik Kingdom.
This was once a long-established major power.
The two have now formed an alliance.
We will still have opportunities in the early stages of the alliance.
Once they have fully digested their respective powers, then...
It's highly likely that our plan to unify the eastern part of this continent will fail, and we will have to face the siege of both sides at the same time.
The longer this drags on, the worse it will be for us.
“But the concerns from the capital are not unfounded,” the adjutant said cautiously.
"I ordered them to draw troops from all over the country to return and reinforce the capital."
And to reinforce those five passes and fortresses to intercept the enemy's mechanized forces.
"They didn't make any arrangements!" the general said angrily.
"Everything is arranged."
However, the enemy's attack was too fast.
They quickly took control of our five passes and fortresses through paratrooper airborne operations.
Then the mechanized armored forces quickly passed through.
According to our current intelligence, the fastest armored unit is about to arrive at the enemy-controlled fortress closest to our capital.
"Once these tanks and armored vehicles cross this pass, there will be no more obstacles between them and our capital," the adjutant said.
“Useless, a bunch of useless people.”
They can't even handle this simple task.
It's incredible that the enemy was able to open up such a road within our kingdom in such a short time.
"Those guys are utterly useless!" The general angrily smashed various things.
The adjutant, standing nearby, helplessly advised, "It's no use saying all this now."
General, the most important thing right now is what we should do next.
Withdraw troops, or continue fighting?
We have to make up our minds!
"We cannot retreat!" The general gritted his teeth and insisted, pointing to the location of the Royal City of Aalborg on the sand table: "Tell the people in the Royal City."
Even if the army of the Baljik Kingdom marches to the outskirts of the capital, they must hold out for half a month.
We will completely conquer the Kingdom of Aalborg within a week, and then send troops to support the royal city within a week!
They can freely deploy the rest of the kingdom's army.
But none of the troops stationed here can be transferred away!
