Chapter 541: Revelation

Chapter 541: Chapter 541: Revelation

Before Officer Liu could say a word, Hua Zifeng cut in and asked the officer, "Where has this Susan gone these past few days?"

Seeing that it was Hua Zifeng who asked, the officer replied, "According to what we’ve found so far, the woman named Susan returned to Xiangcheng by boat and checked into the Imperial Garden Hotel in Central. For the next two days, she just wandered around the Central area and didn’t go anywhere else. After she checked out two days later, she vanished."

Hua Zifeng’s brows furrowed. "Vanished? What do you mean, vanished?"

"Well..." The officer seemed just as confused. "She’s just... gone. We can’t find any trace of Miss Susan in Xiangcheng anymore. No one has seen her since."

"What about records of her leaving Xiangcheng? Are there any?" Hua Zifeng pressed.

The officer shook his head. "No."

Officer Liu, who had been listening from the side, widened his eyes. "Disappeared without a trace... Don’t tell me this Susan woman has some kind of special ability?"

As he spoke, Officer Liu turned to Hua Zifeng. He had always been impressed with Hua Zifeng’s investigative skills. The man had handled countless cases of all kinds, and his experience far surpassed his own. "Mr. Hua, what do you make of this?" he asked. "Miss Susan couldn’t be a Feng Shui Master too, could she?"

"Even the most powerful Feng Shui Master can’t just vanish into thin air. Not even Master Wen could do that; it’s not like they’re deities," Hua Zifeng said with a frown. "There’s definitely something strange going on here."

"Then what could it be?" Officer Liu asked hastily.

"I need to give this some serious thought." After a moment of reflection, Hua Zifeng said, "Look, I’m going to head back for now. I’ll come by again tomorrow. If anything new comes up on your end, keep a detailed record so we can keep each other in the loop."

"Alright, no problem," Officer Liu said quickly. "Should I give you a ride back to your place?"

"No need. My car is nearby; my assistant can drive me back."

"Very well. See you tomorrow, Mr. Hua."

"Right."

Once they were out of the police station, the assistant started the car and asked, "Mr. Hua, are we heading home?"

"No, to Master Sun’s place," Hua Zifeng said.

"Understood." The assistant raised no objections, starting the car and heading toward Master Sun’s residence.

On the way to Master Sun’s residence, the assistant spoke up. "Mr. Hua, who do you think this Susan really is? She couldn’t actually be a Feng Shui Master like Master Wen, could she?"

At the same time, the assistant was also deeply puzzled. "But if her Feng Shui skills are truly greater than Master Wen’s, how come we’ve never heard of her? Even Master Wen and Master Sun have never mentioned anyone like that."

It was no wonder the assistant was confused. After all, there weren’t many true Feng Shui Masters, and those with exceptional abilities were even rarer. Learning this art required talent. People in that circle, regardless of where they were, even outside of Xiangcheng, generally knew of one another. For instance, Master Wen and the others knew a thing or two about the less famous Feng Shui Masters in Xiangcheng and would occasionally give them a helping hand. So, for a Feng Shui Master supposedly even more skilled than them to be completely unknown was unbelievable.

The assistant suspected that this Susan must have used some kind of talisman or Magic to conceal her tracks, allowing her to evade the police investigation.

"Our knowledge of Feng Shui Skill is still too limited," Hua Zifeng said, narrowing his eyes. "I’m not sure if those Feng Shui Masters have talismans or Magic that can conceal their whereabouts. If they do, their ability to appear and disappear like ghosts would leave us completely helpless. But if they don’t..."

The assistant quickly asked, "And if they don’t?"

Hua Zifeng smiled faintly. "Then I would have to wonder if Miss Susan’s appearance is actually her real face."

"Ah!"

They soon arrived at Master Sun’s home. Seeing Hua Zifeng, Master Sun smiled faintly. "Mr. Hua, what a rare honor. Please, come in."

"Master Sun." Hua Zifeng smiled as he greeted him. He and Master Sun had worked together on several cases before, so they were quite familiar with one another. Of all the Feng Shui Masters in Xiangcheng, Hua Zifeng knew Master Sun the best.

"Have a seat." Master Sun looked at Hua Zifeng. "You’re here about Master Wen’s case, aren’t you?"

"Yes." Hua Zifeng nodded. "To be honest, Master Sun, I’ve investigated everything, from A Tai and Little Master Wen’s situation to what happened with Master Wen here in Xiangcheng. I haven’t found a single useful clue. But the timing of Master Wen’s passing and the disappearance of Little Master Wen and the others is just too perfect. There must be a hidden connection. I’m completely stumped, so I came here hoping you might offer some insight."

Master Sun sighed softly. "Master Wen’s passing was so sudden. No one saw it coming."

"Indeed," Hua Zifeng also sighed.

’Hua Zifeng had only come today hoping to get some insight from Master Sun. Through his previous encounters with the man, he knew that Feng Shui Masters could use methods like divination to determine good or bad fortune and receive revelations. However, anything like spirit channeling was out of the question. Master Sun had told him long ago that this was the Dharma-Ending Age. Spiritual Energy was scarce, so even if souls existed after death, they couldn’t survive in the mortal world. If that were possible, what would be the point of solving cases? You could just find a Feng Shui Master to summon the ghost and ask what happened. Besides, even in the distant past when Spiritual Energy was abundant, spirit channeling was an exceptionally advanced form of Magic, known by very, very few.’

Master Sun said, "Speaking of Master Wen’s case, I actually performed a divination a while back. Unfortunately, the information I received was very limited."

"Would you be willing to share what you found, Master Sun?" Hua Zifeng asked eagerly.

"Of course," Master Sun said. "My divination showed that the answer may lie to the north."

"The north?"

"Yes, the north."

"The north... That would be the mainland, then," Hua Zifeng’s assistant muttered from behind him.

Hua Zifeng couldn’t help but frown.

Master Sun continued, "Mr. Hua, if you insist on finding an answer to Master Wen’s case, you might try looking to the north. Perhaps you’ll find something there. As for anything else, forgive me, but I am powerless. Some things are simply left to fate."

"Understood. Thank you, Master Sun." ’He knew this was likely all the information he was going to get today.’

Just then, Hua Zifeng’s assistant couldn’t resist asking, "Oh, by the way, Master Sun, if you don’t mind me asking—do you Feng Shui Masters have talismans or Magic that can make you invisible?"

Master Sun chuckled. "You give us Feng Shui Masters too much credit. We aren’t deities; how could we become invisible? Anyone who could truly do that could ascend to immortality on the spot."

His words made all three of them laugh.
