Chapter 508: Showing Off a Little
Chapter 508: Chapter 508: Showing Off a Little
The dorm supervisor looked at Su Qing, her eyes filled with concern. "Su Qing, you have to be careful. Don’t go anywhere by yourself. No matter where you’re going, find a few people to go with you, understand?"
"I will. Thank you, ma’am." Su Qing smiled, appreciating the dorm supervisor’s kindness.
The dorm supervisor then reminded Li Huan and the others not to let Su Qing be alone before she went downstairs.
Once the dorm room door was closed, Chen Juan and the others looked at Su Qing worriedly. Li Huan clung to Su Qing’s arm, terrified in hindsight. She regretted her carelessness. Su Qing had been in danger for the entire winter break, and she hadn’t noticed a thing. She’d just assumed Su Qing was busy with work during the vacation.
Seeing their worried gazes, Su Qing smiled and said, "Alright, why are you all looking at me like that? I’m fine, see?"
"But the killer who got away still hasn’t been caught," Ye Qingqing said. "Su Qing, you really need to be careful for a while. It’s best if you don’t leave campus. And don’t be away from us. If that killer comes looking for you, we can help you fight him off."
"Yeah, yeah," the others chimed in, nodding eagerly. "We’ll stay with you."
Li Huan added, "From now on, you are not allowed to leave my sight. Not even for a minute. I’m even going with you to the bathroom."
As she spoke, Li Huan pondered further. "Or, I could ask my dad to send some guards to follow you. No, no, that would probably be against regulations. How about I get Beize to find a few bodyguards for you? That way you’ll be safer. Yes, that’s it."
Li Huan was truly panicking. Someone wanted to kill Su Qing. It gave her an unprecedented sense of crisis, and she wracked her brain, trying to figure out how to help Su Qing.
Su Qing didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. "Don’t be so nervous. It’s not a big deal. Things aren’t that serious. Look, I’ve been perfectly fine. Don’t worry, nothing will happen to me."
’Even if that Master Zhang comes looking for me again, I’m prepared this time,’ she thought. ’Who knows who’ll be the unlucky one when that happens.’
"How is it not serious?" Hearing Su Qing’s words, the others quickly interjected. "This is a murderer, a vicious and wicked criminal! People like that have no morals, no bottom line. Jin Zhiwei was murdered! You absolutely cannot take this lightly."
Su Qing nodded. "Of course I’m taking it seriously. But you really don’t need to worry. I can handle it."
"Even if you’re smart, you’re still just a girl. How can you handle it? Please take this seriously, Su Qing," Chen Meizhen said anxiously, seeing that Su Qing didn’t seem to be treating it as a major issue.
Seeing how worried they were, Su Qing just smiled and shook her head. Pretending to take something out of her bag, she retrieved a quail-egg-sized stone from her space and said to them, "Here, watch closely."
With that, Su Qing closed her hand around the stone. She squeezed slightly, and when she opened her hand again, the stone had turned into a pile of fine powder.
The girls of Room 206: ...
For a moment, the entire dorm room was terrifyingly silent. You could have heard a pin drop.
After a long pause, Chen Juan let out a sudden cry, "Oh my god, Su Qing, are you for real? You... you can crush a stone to dust? My god, I must be dreaming."
"I think I might still be asleep," Ye Qingqing said, staring at the stone powder in Su Qing’s hand with an expression of utter disbelief.
Even the usually taciturn Niu Wenying stared blankly and said, "Su Qing, do you know Shaolin Kung Fu?"
Li Huan’s reaction was even more dramatic. She reached out, took a pinch of the stone powder from Su Qing’s hand, and squeezed it hard. She even looked like she was about to bite it to see if it was real, but Su Qing stopped her, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. "Careful, you’ll break a tooth."
Li Huan let out a cry and threw her arms around Su Qing. "Qingqing, I knew you were amazing, but I never knew you were *this* amazing!"
’Oh my god, what a treasure of a sister,’ Li Huan thought. ’What did I ever do to deserve a sister like this? Heaven is being too good to me!’
"I just know a little kung fu, that’s all," Su Qing said with a laugh. "Are you relieved now? If someone really comes looking for trouble, I guarantee they won’t be able to beat me."
At this, the girls in the room finally relaxed a bit, all letting out a collective sigh of relief. That was right. The move Su Qing had just shown them was truly incredible. Forget anything else—one punch from her could probably send a person flying, right? She could probably snap their bones with one hand.
This was a hand that could crush stone, after all. Could bones possibly be harder than stone?
In an instant, the girls’ imaginations were sent running wild by Su Qing’s display.
"Su Qing, can you scale walls and leap over rooftops?"
"Su Qing, can you throw darts?"
"Su Qing, is qinggong real? The kind where you can leap three or four meters in a single bound."
"Is ’flying on grass’ real?"
...
The barrage of questions left Su Qing a little overwhelmed. With her Sixth Rank Wood Ability, she could naturally do all the things her roommates were asking about. However, her power wasn’t traditional kung fu, so how would she know if real martial artists could actually do those things?
So, Su Qing just laughed and said, "It’s not that exaggerated. You guys should believe in science."
"I don’t think you crushing a stone with one hand is very scientific," Chen Juan mused. She grabbed the hand Su Qing had used, examining the palm closely. There wasn’t a single scratch on it. She gave it a squeeze—it was still soft and delicate. She simply couldn’t believe that such a delicate little hand could crush a stone that hard.
It was just... so unscientific.
But regardless, the fact that Su Qing could crush a stone with one hand was something they had seen with their own eyes. Although they were shocked, they finally felt much more confident about Su Qing’s safety.
Li Huan then brought up Liu Jiajia again. "In Jin Zhiwei’s case, the police never revealed Qingqing’s involvement. But this Liu Jiajia knows about it. Her dad must have known and told her. This is just... What if this puts Qingqing in even greater danger?"
"Exactly. The police didn’t release Su Qing’s name for a reason. But for Liu Jiajia to just blab about it so casually... she might have messed up some kind of police operation," Chen Meizhen said, nodding. "What if the one who got away gets desperate and takes a huge risk? That Liu Jiajia is so unreliable."
"It’s fine," Su Qing said with a faint smile. "You don’t need to worry about my safety. However, a public official so easily leaking internal information to an uninvolved party... that’s a big problem."
"Exactly," Li Huan said. "My dad would never tell me about his work. If Liu Jiajia hadn’t brought it up, I wouldn’t have known about Qingqing’s situation at all."
Then, Li Huan shook her head. "Let that Liu Jiajia keep acting up. Sooner or later, she’s going to get her dad fired."
