Pain was what woke Xu Xianhui. A strange, sharp ache made her snap her eyes open. The scene from before she passed out flooded back into her mind, and panic began to spread deep inside her.

Tears welled in Xu Xianhui’s eyes. How could she dare to scream? If people found out she had been violated, her reputation would be completely ruined. And her future prospects... She had worked so hard to get into Beijing University and would be assigned a job after graduation. She absolutely could not let such a bright future be destroyed.
"You... Cao Dong, you bastard!" Xu Xianhui sobbed, cursing him.
A smug look spread across Cao Dong’s face. "What about me? This was consensual."
"No, it wasn’t!" Xu Xianhui retorted furiously. "You’re lying through your teeth! You drugged me, you..."
"But I gave you money," Cao Dong cut in matter-of-factly before she could finish. "I’ve seen it all along. You’re a university student, so you’re stuck-up. You’re educated, you’re pretty, and you look down on a regular, uncultured brute like me. I’ve been chasing you for so long, and all you ever did was look down your nose at me. So fine, I won’t force you to be my girlfriend anymore. I agreed to give you money, but you can’t expect me to get nothing out of it, can you?"
"I told you I’d pay it back," Xu Xianhui cried. "You bastard! Don’t you realize you’ve ruined me?"
Sobbing, Xu Xianhui began to pound on Cao Dong. She didn’t dare to make much noise, terrified that someone would come and see her in this state. Gritting her teeth, she beat and clawed at him, venting all her rage and bitter resentment.
Cao Dong shoved her aside with a snort. "Pay me back? With what? You think I couldn’t see right through you? You never had any intention of paying me back. You figured that since I liked you, you could just keep stringing me along without giving a straight answer. That way, I’d be too embarrassed to ask for the money back. Isn’t that right?"
"I..." Cao Dong had seen right through her. A hot blush of shame crept up Xu Xianhui’s face. It was one thing to entertain such thoughts privately, but to have them spoken aloud was utterly humiliating.
"Hmph. Called it." Seeing her evasive gaze, Cao Dong let out a cold snort. "So there you have it. I won’t make you pay me back. Just consider that money a little tip for today’s services. It’s not like you’re losing out."
Humiliation washed over Xu Xianhui at his words. "What do you take me for?"
"You won’t be my girlfriend, so after what happened between us today, what do you think that makes you?" Cao Dong sneered. "I guess I learned something today. So this is all a university student amounts to. No different from any other woman."
Xu Xianhui clenched her jaw, glaring at Cao Dong in fury. Things had already come to this; she knew she would have to suffer this humiliation in silence. She didn’t have the courage to expose what had happened.
’If I expose this, it obviously won’t end well for Cao Dong. But my reputation will be ruined, too. There’s someone I like... I still want to get married someday. I have such a bright future... I absolutely cannot let anyone find out what happened today.’
