Chapter 348: I Can’t Let This Go
Chapter 348: Chapter 348: I Can’t Let This Go
Li Huan and Ye Qingqing spent a long time in the washroom rinsing their burns with cold water. Su Qing stood nearby, secretly using the green mist to control their injuries and prevent the burns from getting too severe. However, there still had to be visible burn marks. After all, Song Yufang, the culprit, had yet to be punished.
By the time Su Qing and the others returned to their dorm room, the dorm supervisor had already arrived. Song Yufang, having injured Li Huan and Ye Qingqing, was panicking. She had wanted to quickly leave the room and hide, but Liu Juan and the others naturally didn’t let her go. At the same time, someone else had gone to fetch the dorm supervisor.
The dorm supervisor hadn’t expected such a major incident to break out in the girls’ dormitory before classes had even officially started.
Song Yufang wiped her tears and said to the dorm supervisor, "I didn’t mean to. I just saw red for a moment. There were so many of them ganging up on me, of course I couldn’t take it! My hand just slipped, and I don’t know how the water from the cup splashed on them. Anyway, it wasn’t on purpose."
Liu Juan was furious. "Song Yufang, we saw you deliberately throw that boiling water on Li Huan! And what’s this about us ganging up on you? Why don’t you tell everyone what you did? You just moved in yesterday, arrived last, and then complained about your bed assignment. You tried to secretly switch beds while Su Qing wasn’t here. And today, we weren’t bothering you at all, but you came into the room slamming things around, deliberately starting trouble. Then, when you knew you were in the wrong, you hurt someone. How dare you say it wasn’t on purpose?"
"Exactly!" Chen Meizhen added. "Song Yufang, don’t even think about shirking responsibility. You hurt someone today, so you have to answer for it."
The dorm supervisor said, "What exactly happened? Someone tell me in detail."
"I will." Liu Juan then recounted everything that had happened yesterday and today in great detail.
After hearing Liu Juan’s account, many of the students looked at Song Yufang with contempt. Song Yufang’s face flushed red, and she shot back at Liu Juan, "You’re the ones bullying me! You’re all ganging up on me."
"Who’s bullying who?" At that moment, Su Qing and the others walked into the room. Sun Xiaowen looked angrily at Song Yufang, pointed at Li Huan’s burns, and said, "Song Yufang, open your eyes and look! What kind of deep-seated grudge do you have to hurt someone like this?"
Ye Qingqing had only been splashed on a small part of her arm, so it didn’t look too bad. But Li Huan was Song Yufang’s direct target, and she had large burns on her arm and neck. The sight made the dorm supervisor and the surrounding students gasp. Their gazes toward Song Yufang filled with even more disgust.
At this time, most people were still quite simple and earnest, so they naturally despised Song Yufang’s actions.
Song Yufang truly hadn’t expected Li Huan to be injured so badly. The thought that she might be disciplined or face other punishments sent a chill down her spine. She immediately started crying, "I didn’t do it on purpose! I was just feeling upset and grumbling a bit. If you had just ignored me, none of this would have happened, right?"
Everyone was stunned. So, it was someone else’s fault that she’d hurt them?
What kind of logic was that?
Su Qing gave Song Yufang a cold look and said to the dorm supervisor, "Ma’am, we need a formal resolution for what happened today."
The dorm supervisor said, "It’s late today, and the university administration isn’t here. The earliest we can report this to them is tomorrow. So, for tonight, let’s first get these two students to the hospital for their injuries. Also, the student who caused the injuries will need to cover the medical expenses."
The dorm supervisor looked at Li Huan with some concern. She was genuinely worried that the student would be scarred. ’Such a nice young girl, what a tragedy it would be if she were left with scars on her face and neck.’
No one objected to the dorm supervisor’s proposal. Song Yufang didn’t dare object to covering the medical fees either. After all, she had thrown boiling water on someone in front of everyone; there was no way she could talk her way out of it. She just hoped that besides paying the medical bills, she wouldn’t have to face any other consequences.
Sun Xiaowen spoke up again, "Oh, and we hope the dorm supervisor can move Song Yufang to a different room. We don’t dare live with her anymore. If she’s willing to hurt someone over a small argument today, who knows what she’ll do in the future."
"That’s right," Liu Juan and the others chimed in. "We don’t want to share a room with her."
Hearing that Liu Juan and the others didn’t want to room with Song Yufang, students from rooms with empty beds quickly spoke up, "We don’t want her either! Please don’t move her into our room. We’d be scared too."
"Yeah, we don’t want her either."
Before the dorm supervisor could even say anything, a whole crowd of people had voiced their opinions.
Song Yufang was absolutely seething. She wailed, "You can’t just bully someone like this!"
"Who’s bullying who?" Ye Qingqing glared angrily at Song Yufang. Although only a small part of her arm had been hit, it still hurt badly, a testament to how hot the water was. Su Qing had mentioned having some burn cream, but Ye Qingqing knew that a severe burn could still leave a scar even with medicine. She herself would be fine, but Li Huan had been burned on her face and neck. ’What if they don’t heal properly and leave scars?’
"Alright, that’s enough. We’ll deal with this tomorrow. For now, let’s get to the hospital." The dorm supervisor then told the onlookers to disperse.
In the end, feeling uneasy, the residents of Room 206 decided to go to the hospital together. One group would accompany Ye Qingqing and Li Huan for treatment, while the other would keep an eye on Song Yufang to make sure she didn’t try to bolt.
Since classes hadn’t officially started, the dorm supervisor didn’t know who Su Qing and the others’ academic advisor was, so she went to the hospital with them herself.
Fortunately, the nearest hospital wasn’t far from Beijing University, only about a ten-minute walk. It was evening by then, and the emergency room wasn’t crowded. A doctor carefully examined Li Huan and Ye Qingqing, diagnosing them both with second-degree burns and prescribing a burn cream. Because Li Huan’s burns covered a larger area, she needed to be admitted overnight for observation.
In the end, Su Qing stayed at the hospital to accompany Li Huan while the others returned to the university. Before leaving, the dorm supervisor said to Li Huan, "Your injuries aren’t extremely severe. I suspect that after Song Yufang pays the medical bills, the most she’ll have to do is apologize to you."
Nothing more than that. Similar incidents at the university had been handled the same way in the past.
Once everyone else had left, Li Huan said indignantly to Su Qing, "Qingqing, if all Song Yufang has to do is apologize, I won’t be able to let this go."
Li Huan had never been wronged like this in her entire life. Even when she clashed with Liu Jiajia, the other girl only dared to challenge her with words.
But who would have thought she’d run into someone so unreasonable right at the start of school? It would be a miracle if she could just swallow her anger. She wouldn’t use her family background to bully others, but she couldn’t let someone bully her and get away with it so easily either.
