Chapter 932: Chapter 930: A Mom Who Wants to Strike It Rich Every Day
"But shouldn’t you come back with us and meet everyone? It won’t take much time." Mi Mei said, wiping her reddened eyes, "How about it?"
Xie Musheng thought about it; since he had already acknowledged his relatives, it seemed appropriate to go back and meet everyone and get familiar with the surroundings, so he didn’t refuse.
But he first asked Jian Mo, who naturally respected Xie Musheng’s decision: "It doesn’t matter if you delay for a few days, just come back as soon as possible. Even if you return home, we can find time for training."
Xie Musheng thought it over and agreed; it wouldn’t cause much delay.
Then Guo Changdong and his wife treated everyone to a meal and took a few days off from school before taking Xie Musheng home.
[Xiao Qi, monitor Guo Changdong and Mi Mei’s movements, and track Xie Musheng and the couple all the way.] Ah Chen spoke with 997. At times like these, it’s hard to say anything to stop them, so she wanted to see what would happen next.
Since there was a matter at hand, it should be resolved to avoid extra trouble later.
"I never imagined Brother Piao had parents; that’s pretty good." Chi Fang said, eating quickly, "They seem to have a decent family and Brother Piao seems to have overcome his hardships."
Jian Mo sneered: "Don’t you have parents too? They doted on you a lot; life has always been easy, but why are you out there messing around?"
"Brother, can you not mention past stuff, alright?" Chi Fang immediately surrendered.
"But I don’t see Piaopiao being excited at all." Shen Xiaoju scratched his head, "Maybe she’s grown up and doesn’t really need parents anymore. Since they came a long way to find her, they must care about Piaopiao."
"It’s strange now, but with time together, things should get better. Bonds are cultivated over time." Ma Xuan said.
Jian Mo noticed Ah Chen hadn’t spoken a word, so he moved closer to her. It seemed since Xie Musheng’s parents appeared, the coach rarely spoke—did she remember her own family’s situation? But it didn’t seem like it.
"Coach, An, Teacher An, what are you thinking about?"
Ah Chen glanced up at Jian Mo and set down her phone: "I’m thinking about how to train you guys next."
Everyone: ...
"I don’t see anything happening now, so why not go practice with the second team?" Ma Xuan quickly changed the subject, "They need the training more than us."
Ma Xuan’s suggestion received unanimous agreement.
Ah Chen didn’t stop them and let them go.
Since Xie Musheng was in the car, he could still line up with them.
He sat in the backseat of the car, unaware of the eye exchanges between Guo Changdong and Mi Mei. Despite speaking little and wearing headphones, he was definitely interacting with his teammates while playing games.
Ah Chen and the others continued as usual on this side; Xie Musheng had already returned to the Guo’s home.
Since his younger twin siblings were abroad, he couldn’t meet them, so the couple told him they planned a banquet so he could stay home a few more days.
Xie Musheng saw it wouldn’t affect his training much, so he agreed. Mi Mei’s tearful eyes made him feel somewhat compassionate; after all, they were his biological parents. They seemed nice, and perhaps they’d become familiar with more interaction.
On the third day after returning to the Guo’s home, Guo Changdong and Mi Mei claimed they were taking him to attend the banquet. After breakfast, he got in the car and drifted off.
When he awoke again, he found himself in an utterly unfamiliar place and sensed something amiss.
Upon seeing Guo Changdong and Mi Mei, he inexplicably relaxed a bit and awkwardly spoke, "Mom, Dad, have we arrived?"
"We have." Guo Changdong said, "Musheng, you’ll study hard here from now on; don’t let us down."
Xie Musheng finally woke up properly and glanced upward. That not-too-small, not-too-big gate looked very much like a school entrance.
What was going on?
He looked around, taking in the green hills and woods, utterly removed from the city, with no idea where he was. Instinctively, he reached for his pocket, only to find his phone missing.
Xie Musheng’s face turned sour: "What are you doing?"
"Musheng, we’re your parents and only want you to study well and stop indulging in that game. Obey here; when the teacher says you’re qualified, we’ll come get you." Mi Mei spoke while wiping her tears, "We just don’t want to see you go down the wrong path."
But this time Xie Musheng felt no sympathy; he only saw persistence and distortion on Mi Mei’s face.
It was eerily similar to the end of last semester when Wei Lilan hit Pei Chen because Pei Chen’s final scores weren’t as good as his mid-term, then acted aggrieved herself.
Suddenly he felt a chill rise from his feet, unable to understand why he was facing this.
What right did they have?
They hadn’t raised him for a day.
They only had a paternity test done, not even adding him to their household registration.
"You have no right to do this; I don’t want it!" Although knowing it seemed futile now, Xie Musheng couldn’t hold back. He regretted giving them any consideration just because they were his parents—compassion for Mi Mei’s sorrowful expression—and that led him here.
This place looked desolate, currently with no communication tools, and once inside, struggle was futile. Obedience was his only shot at survival.
But he didn’t have that kind of time.
His dreams were about to come true.
His teammates were waiting for him.
How could he be absent at such a critical moment?
Xie Musheng was so anxious that his eyes turned red, pulling his hair intensely.
Just then, a seemingly gentle middle-aged man said to the Guo couple: "Parents, rest assured. Since you’ve entrusted your child to us, we’ll teach him well, ensure he quits those bad habits, and becomes a hardworking student."
"Teacher Wei, this Xie Musheng will be your student from now on; take good care of him."
"Sure, Principal."
The somewhat familiar voice caught Xie Musheng’s attention; he looked up suddenly to see a familiar face. Who else but Wei Lilan?
He instinctively stepped back a few paces; Wei Lilan actually teaches in such a place—a fact he hadn’t remotely considered.
Wei Lilan recognized Xie Musheng, seemingly surprised, then she laughed.
Last semester she sought out An Chen for some accountability, and this student actually sided with An Chen. Who would’ve thought he’d quickly land in her hands?
Xie Musheng sensed the terror beneath Wei Lilan’s gentle smile and instinctively pushed away those around him, turning to flee.
But he hadn’t run far before someone grabbed him and injected him with something.
"Student, your parents spent a hefty sum to send you here, hoping you’d meet their expectations; don’t disappoint them."
Though he rarely cursed, Xie Musheng couldn’t help it: "Damn you..."
Ultimately, Xie Musheng was taken into the school, his face a portrait of despair.
Guo Changdong and Mi Mei urged Xie Musheng to study hard here before driving away.
Wei Lilan followed beside Xie Musheng, her voice somber: "I heard you play games well?"
