Chapter 367: Chapter 367: The Safe Period Arrives, Setting Out
[Server-wide Announcement: Congratulations to all players for successfully surviving one hundred days at sea. As a special reward, you have been granted a half-month safety period. Look forward to an even more exciting life of sea survival in half a month (September 24th)!] x3
"A half-month safety period. Wow, what a generous reward."
Faye Yardley genuinely felt the system had suddenly become generous.
As for the part about life getting "more exciting," Faye Yardley couldn’t imagine how that was even possible.
’Weren’t the past hundred days exciting enough?’
On the World Channel, crowds of people were also reacting to the announcement.
[Damn, it’s only been a hundred days? I feel like centuries have passed, seriously.]
["An even more exciting life at sea," huh. Will I even be alive then?]
[Shouldn’t we be happy about the half-month safety period? This is great! I’m definitely going to fish for more chests and hoard a ton of supplies this time.]
[15 days... Hey, bigshots, aren’t you guys going to take over a few more islands and recruit more people? Please, please, recruit me already! I can bring my own house, and if I don’t have a house, I can bring my own tent.]
[I heard Yardley’s island is secretly recruiting again. Can you pick me? I can really do a little bit of everything. I used to be a content creator who remodeled and renovated my own house.]
[Stop dreaming, person above. I’ve seen the pictures of Yardley’s island that are going around. That place looks just like our old home on Aquaria.]
As it turned out, Faye Yardley actually saw the post from the content creator who claimed to know a bit of everything. After thinking for a moment, she had one of the admins in her main group chat contact him. If there were no major issues, she would give him a family slot.
About half an hour later, that same content creator popped up again.
[Does everyone remember me? I pitched myself to Yardley, and I can’t believe I actually got picked! MUAHAHAHA... I’m so happy, just had to share it with everyone.]
[You lucky bastard, get back here! If I don’t punch you, I won’t be able to get rid of this sudden rage!]
[Bigshot! Bigshot! Look at me, I can do anything too, c’mon!]
[What kind of luck is that? I’ve recommended myself so many times, so why doesn’t Yardley ever notice me? It’s not fair. I’m obviously handsomer.]
[Dammit, I hate Kings of Luck the most! Are we unlucky ones not even human?]
By this point, Faye Yardley had long since stopped paying attention to the World Channel. She was in the training room, intensifying her workout.
When she came out of the training room, she found her brother had called her twice and also sent a message asking where Tiberius had gone.
Faye Yardley wiped the sweat from her forehead. She’d completely forgotten to tell her brother about that.
She called him back and explained everything. Ethan Yardley’s expression was indescribably complex.
He finally just said he understood, then hung up.
Faye Yardley couldn’t help but click her tongue. "Why is he acting like someone who just got their heart broken?"
After washing up, she went to the thatched shed and took out her special fishing rod. She was starting to feel a little excited again about what she might catch.
[Obtained one red hair tie.]
????
Faye Yardley was utterly baffled. Why on earth did she just fish up a perfectly ordinary red hair tie? It didn’t have any special description at all.
Oh well, there was bound to be some trash in the sea. It wasn’t strange to fish some up. She just had to keep fishing.
[Obtained one tattered skirt: It isn’t very useful, but maybe you can use it as a rag.]
Faye Yardley: ...
’What is with my luck today?’
She looked up at the sky. The sun was bright, the temperature was perfect, and the sea was calm, with an occasional gentle breeze brushing against her face. So what exactly was the problem?
She forced herself to be patient and kept fishing. She refused to believe she couldn’t catch anything good.
[Obtained Luminous Pearl x1: You know what it’s for—illumination.]
"Finally, something useful."
Willow Yardley had been sitting beside her, fishing for treasure chests with an ordinary fishing rod. Speaking of which, her haul had been quite good. In one morning, besides some seafood, she had also gotten two Wooden Treasure Chests and one Iron Treasure Box.
Seeing it was about time for lunch, she turned and asked, "Is there anything you’re craving today, Sis?"
"Not really, I’ll just sit here and eat some buns."
Speaking of which, Willow Yardley really had made buns with all sorts of fillings.
Compared to things like dumplings, wontons, or pies, Faye Yardley preferred buns. So, whenever Willow had time, she would make a few and set them aside, and over time, the quantity had become quite substantial.
Faye Yardley took out a plate of ten buns with different fillings, a large cup of sweet soy milk, and a bowl of chicken soup directly from her inventory. This was her lunch.
She ate her buns, finishing one in two bites. As she started on her sixth, there was a tug on her fishing line.
[Obtained one giant’s torn glove: Perhaps the giant is looking for it.]
Her hand, holding a bun, paused for a moment, but she still put the clean, ripped, giant glove into her inventory.
’I’ve fished up another one of the giant’s things. It couldn’t be the same giant, right? If so, that person is way too scatterbrained.’
She rinsed her hands with water and continued eating her bun. Huh? Was this a pure chili pepper-filled bun?
HSS... HAA...
’So spicy!’
She quickly took a gulp of sweet soy milk to calm the heat.
"Willow, don’t make any more pure chili-filled buns next time. They’re too spicy; I can’t handle it. How many did you make? Pack them all up, and remind me when I go back to the island. I’ll give all these buns to Thorne."
"Okay, I got it. I didn’t make too many of the pure chili ones, only about 50 in total. What’s your favorite flavor, Sis? I’ll make more of that next time."
"All the others are fine; they’re all delicious. It’s just this one that’s too spicy for me to handle."
Willow Yardley thought for a moment. "I’ll tell Eamon to change how he’s growing the peppers, then. He shouldn’t keep trying to increase their spiciness."
It slowly dawned on Faye Yardley. "Oh, so Eamon has been specially breeding these peppers for spiciness? Quick, tell him to stop going down that one-way street of increasing the heat."
’I knew Eamon was talented, but I never imagined he was *this* capable.’
After putting away the special fishing rod and finishing her lunch, Faye Yardley stood up and stretched lazily.
These peaceful days were making her feel a little restless and impatient.
’It’s over, it’s over,’ she thought. ’In just a hundred short days, I’ve completely changed. I’ve gone from a pleasure-seeking college girl to a tough woman who constantly craves battle and adventure. I can never go back to the way I was. Even if I could, I wouldn’t want to. Sure enough, your environment is always changing how you think and act.’
After organizing the items in her backpack, she took out a white Island Entry Order, looked at it, and then activated it.
[You have activated an Ordinary Island Entry Order. You will arrive at the island in 1.5 hours. Enjoy your trip!]
Goliath changed direction and then instantly began to accelerate.
Faye Yardley happily raised her right fist. "Let’s go! Full speed ahead!"
