Chapter 338: Guest, Did You Have Fun? Clown Seal

Chapter 338: Chapter 338: Guest, Did You Have Fun? Clown Seal

Despite what Kian Quill had said, he’d been obedient and had indeed chosen to quit.

Back on the parade float, facing the clown’s beaming smile, Kian Quill was a little embarrassed. "Mr. Clown, I’m sorry. I didn’t make it to the end."

"Kids who listen to advice are the cutest. You did very well." The clown patted Kian Quill’s head. "Now, go on and enjoy the fruits of your success."

Kian Quill immediately felt a warm current surge from deep within his body, making him feel as comfortable as if he were soaking in a hot spring.

As for the others on the float, they either hadn’t woken up or were howling in pain from their failure-induced headaches and had been picked up by their families.

Very few people chose to quit midway, so Kian Quill really was a good kid who listened to advice.

’The pleasure of a power-up was unparalleled. It’s enough to get stronger bit by bit. Miss Yardley was right; there’s no need to suffer through a headache. He was still young. He could just wait until he was truly powerful and then crush those adults.’

The smile on Kian Quill’s face grew brighter and brighter.

After Kian Quill left, Faye Yardley thought for a moment and headed for the next attraction, a small train ride that looked relatively safe and harmless.

’Since dying this time doesn’t cause any real harm, why not try more of the attractions?’

’If I can find some relatively safe attractions, then I can let others try them when we get invited to Dungeon 5 in the future.’

The small train had open-air cars, one person per car.

Faye Yardley queued up, got on, and settled in. Many more people boarded after her until every car on the train was full. Only then did the little train start up with a CHUG CHUG CHUG.

The moment the train moved, the surrounding scenery changed completely.

The entire train seemed to have left the amusement park and entered a whole new world.

The train was suspended in mid-air—top, bottom, left, and right—floating forward through the sky.

It passed through clusters of fluffy white clouds, a gentle breeze caressing their faces. Everything seemed wonderful.

This wonderful feeling lasted less than two minutes before the train not only accelerated instantly but also began a massive 360-degree barrel roll.

The wind was no longer a gentle breeze but a biting astral wind that scraped at the skin. Those with lower constitution and resistance were immediately flayed, becoming drenched in blood.

Warm blood, carried by the wind, even splattered onto Faye Yardley’s face and body.

Now Faye Yardley felt like she was not only in a high-speed, tumbling washing machine but also being periodically slashed by blades and burned by fire.

The warm blood felt like a searing burn when it dripped onto exposed skin.

In this environment, you had to do your best to maintain your balance, because if any part of your body was exposed, it would be sheared off by the astral wind.

No one was trying to do anything extra, at least. Just taking care of oneself was already incredibly difficult.

’If someone could actually leave their car in this environment, climb to another, and kill someone, they’d be a freaking genius.’

Fortunately, Faye Yardley hadn’t encountered such a genius yet. She couldn’t spare a thought for what was happening in the cars ahead or behind her.

The small train seemed to have entered a state of perpetual rolling, its speed ever-increasing. Many people were flung out and instantly shredded into a bloody pulp by the astral wind outside.

Faye Yardley wasn’t just relying on the safety buckle to hold her in. She hooked her feet firmly around the front, lay flat on her stomach, and clung desperately to the thin bar in front of her seat.

She was using every possible method to keep herself tucked inside the car.

’If she could, she would have even tried to squeeze under the seat, but unfortunately, there was no room to hide there.’

Besides, it was impossible to stay hidden during such high-speed rotations anyway.

When the spinning finally began to slow, gradually returning to a normal, steady pace, Faye Yardley slowly lifted her head. She glanced in front and behind her. On the long train, only a handful of people were left sitting up straight.

[Dear esteemed guests, the little train has arrived at the station. Congratulations on reaching the final stop. We hope you’ll come play again soon!]

As Faye Yardley unfastened her safety buckle, she discovered the strap at the top was hanging on by a single thread.

After she got off the train and walked through the exit, before she could even decide which attraction to try next, the clown pulled her back onto the parade float.

"Welcome back, esteemed guest. Did you have a good time?"

Faye Yardley blinked, asking with a hint of confusion, "Can we only do three attractions at most? Didn’t Kian Quill say everyone could keep playing until the game was over?"

The clown spread his hands. "That’s right, the game is over. See? Everyone else has already failed and returned. You’re the last one standing, the grand winner of this parade game."

’Somehow, I don’t quite believe that.’

That’s what Faye Yardley thought, but it was a thought she could only keep to herself. She was under someone else’s roof, after all; she understood the principle of knowing when to bow her head.

The clown suddenly stood up, leaped onto the roof of the float, and raised his hands high. "The grand winner has been decided! Let’s give her a cheer!"

WHOOP! WHOOP WHOOP!

Waves of cheers erupted from the crowd on both sides as fireworks began to bloom in the sky. The clowns in the parade procession also started setting off all sorts of party poppers and confetti cannons.

Fresh flowers and specks of starlight drifted down from the sky, landing on Faye Yardley.

[Constitution +2, Strength +2]

The system notification gave Faye Yardley a sense of reality.

The clown’s head suddenly appeared upside down from the roof of the float, and he said to Faye Yardley, "You’ve won the clown’s friendship. Here’s a friendship seal for you."

Then, the clown winked at her, and the image of a clown’s head was instantly imprinted on the back of her right hand.

The clown head then faded into the back of her hand as if it had never been there.

[Clown Seal: A testament to the clown’s friendship. With it, you can experience more joy than others in the clown’s world. (For a limited time, you can designate one person to enter the Clown’s Amusement Park. The designated person will be exempt from one death inside.)]

The system notification was real. Faye Yardley looked at the clown and thanked him sincerely, "Thank you, Mr. Clown. I am honored to have your friendship."

"You’re an interesting little lady. Go on back now~"

In the next instant, Faye Yardley was no longer on the float but standing in the middle of the crowd.

She didn’t linger in the crowd, either. She turned and quickly walked away.

She wandered and wandered, only to discover that Serene Shadow City apparently had no hotels, inns, or anything of the sort.

Faye Yardley stood on a street corner, watching the people come and go, a little dumbfounded.

’Wait, doesn’t Serene Shadow City have any outsiders?’

’No travelers?’

’Where am I supposed to stay now?’

After some thought, Faye Yardley finally decided to go to the City Lord’s Manor to ask. There was no other choice. She’d come all this way; she couldn’t just have some fun and go straight home, could she?

That would be such a waste of Diana Quinn’s good intentions.

’Does nobody in the fun-filled Serene Shadow City ever sleep?’

’No, I have to get a clear answer. If it comes down to it, I’ll just shamelessly ask to stay at the City Lord’s Manor.’

’They can’t just let a guest sleep on the streets, can they?’
