Chapter 54
A Slap
An Xiaowan’s hands on her side clenched into a tight fist. Her eyes were filled with hatred.
“Du Yunlan! Father is still lying sick on the bed. As his wife, let’s not talk about how you don’t give a damn about his health, but now you even want to sell the house he worked so hard to build. Do you even have a conscience?”
An Xiaowan could no longer keep her feelings under control.
She once again felt Du Yunlan had a part to play in the calamity that befell upon her father, An Yanmo.
“It looks like she never even had any feelings for Father,”
thought An Xiaowan.
“Wan, your father is not going to wake up anyway. He wouldn’t know whether we sell the house or not.” Du Yunlan shook her head. “And anyway, isn’t he lying there thanks to you, Wan.”
“Whoever landed him in this predicament, knows it in her own heart!”
An Xiaowan was suddenly overcome with a sense of helplessness.
She was helpless in the face of reality.
An Xiaowan had no money, no power, the An family no longer had any ties with her, and she lost her father’s house.
An Xiaowan’s eyes looked empty. She suddenly looked like a withered red rose, robbed of its luster and vitality.
“I can offer you a way out, Wan.” Du Yunlan calmly looked at her nails. “Kneel and beg me. If you apologize for your behavior just now, and I will consider if I want to sell the house or not. You know, just to give you some hope.”
Kneel and beg? An Xiaowan’s face was rigid and unyielding.
She was not so foolish.
Du Yunlan only wanted to humiliate her and trample on her dignity.
An Xiaowan clenched her fists tightly, and her nails dug into her skin.
But that pain kept her clear-headed.
“How did it feel to lose the deal today?” Instead of responding and showing her helplessness to Du Yunlan, An Xiaowan turned the tables around.
Once more, an elegant but cold smile appeared on her face. “If you sell the house, I’m afraid what happened tonight may happen again… and again.”
Then she looked over at An Xue menacingly, her beautiful face brimming with rage, and her lips flushed bright red as if they would soon burst out in flames. “And you, An Xue, and all your dirty scandals. Who knows, one fine day they might suddenly occupy the headlines again.”
“What dirty scandals?” An Xue’s chest suddenly tightened. “I don’t have any dirty scandals.”
An Xiaowan’s smile widened. At that moment, her temperament was like an intoxicating red rose, blooming in the darkness of the night, brimming with an alluring passion. “Well, Chen Yinian, did you know about An Xue being an escort?”
Chen Yinian was stunned. Escort?
Chen Yinian unintentionally turned to look at An Xue, his grip on her arm tightened.
An Xue was frenzied and loudly retorted, “That’s slander! An Xiaowan, even till now, you have not given up on trying to create a rift between Brother Yinian and myself!”
“Is it really slander? An Xue, deep in your heart, you know it better than anyone else.”
Looking at Chen Yinian, An Xiaowan laughed lightly and cooed, “Chen Yinian, can you picture An Xue smiling flirtatiously like a demure lady in the arms of several men? Or moaning with pleasure while lying under other men? How else did you think she secured those film contracts and shows?”
An Xue’s face was instantly drained of color.
Indeed, in her starting years, when An Xue entered the industry, she had accompanied various men for drinks and satisfied their desires on several occasions.
To make it to the top of the modeling industry, it was a sacrifice she had to make.
The path she chose was not as easy as it seemed!
However, these were all unsaid rules of the industry that nobody speaks about in the open. Logically speaking, it was unlikely An Xiaowan had any hard evidence.
“Don’t talk nonsense!”
An Xue was flustered. “Speaking of dirty scandals, you win hands down! You tried to kill father, bully and humiliate your sister, and even have a sugar daddy. Such a sl*t!”
An Xiaowan seductively twirled her hair with her fingers. “Oh, but everyone already knows about all of that.”
She leaned closer to An Xue and said in a cold voice, “An Xue, I’m already in hell, and I can’t fall any deeper. But for you, that’s not the case.”
She paused before continuing, “You worked so hard to climb to heaven, are you prepared to fall back to the ground again?”
Slap!
A loud and crisp sound rang through the air, and An Xiaowan instantly went quiet.
