Chapter 2554 - 2335: I’ll Get You an Ad Sponsorship (Part 2)
Chapter 2554: Chapter 2335: I’ll Get You an Ad Sponsorship (Part 2)
"Of course not, it’s not that simple. The appearance and the true reality are completely different. You can’t even imagine what kind of hardships and sufferings I’ve endured to become the female lead in this play." Shen Jiayan shook her head and sighed.
"Yes, that’s how things are. On the surface, everything looks glamorous, but in reality, it’s full of scars." Song Jiaren nodded in agreement.
"Miss Song, let me ask you a question as well. Why is it that the advertisement endorsement for this slimming tea factory is for you to do on behalf of Patriarch Song? If I remember correctly, the Su family has several advertising companies under their banner." Shen Jiayan asked Song Jiaren.
"Well... if it’s not entirely lucky for you to have such an opportunity, then I can say that my opportunity is purely due to luck." Song Jiaren recalled her first meeting with Song Xiaodong on the train.
"Is that so?"
"Yes, I met Mr. Song by chance on the train." Song Jiaren said.
"Wow... you’re really amazing! Meeting by chance and getting an opportunity to work for Patriarch Song is indeed very lucky." Shen Jiayan said.
Chapter 2336: Secretly Taking a Detour
"Yes..."
The two continued eating, drinking, and chatting, and before they knew it, it was already past 10 PM. Shen Jiayan lived with the film crew, but Song Jiaren still needed to return to Minghe.
"Be careful on the road." Shen Jiayan bid farewell to Song Jiaren.
"Goodbye."
Song Jiaren took a taxi.
"Where to?" the driver asked Song Jiaren.
"To Minghe." Song Jiaren replied.
"Oh wow, that’s far." the driver said.
"Yes." Song Jiaren replied.
"Do you still want to use the meter or just offer a flat rate?" the driver asked Song Jiaren.
"Why not use the meter?" Song Jiaren asked the driver.
"Let’s go then."
The driver stepped on the gas, and the car drove off.
"Not using the meter is for your own good. Do you know how far it is to Li Ming River? Using the meter might cost you 200 yuan." the driver said to Song Jiaren.
It was already 10 PM, and Song Jiaren was tired. She closed her eyes and didn’t respond to the driver.
Soon, Song Jiaren fell asleep, not knowing how long she slept when suddenly the road bumped, waking her up. Looking out the window, she found the scenery outside somewhat unfamiliar.
As mentioned before, Shudian Film and Television City is very large and couldn’t possibly be built in the city center. It’s far from the city center, with stretches of countryside, suburbs, and shantytown in between. There are no streetlights on the road, only lights coming from the villages as one passes by.
Song Jiaren quickly realized she had been taken on a detour.
Song Jiaren might be quite naive, but she has an excellent memory for routes. As long as she’s been to a place once, she rarely gets lost the second time.
So even though it was her first time going to the film city, she had already memorized the route from Minghe to the film city.
And now the road the driver was taking definitely wasn’t the one she had traveled during the day.
"Driver, where are we now?" Song Jiaren asked.
"This is Stone Town." the driver answered.
"Driver, did you secretly take a detour while I was asleep?" Song Jiaren asked.
"Who detoured your route?" the driver exclaimed in agitation.
"How can you say I detoured you by going from Wushijiazi to Liulengguan, then to Stone Town, and then to Northwest Village?" the driver argued with Song Jiaren.
"No, from Wushijiazi to Liulengguan, then not to Stone Town, but to Honggangling is the closest." Song Jiaren said.
"Into Honggangling is a detour! I’ve been driving for a long time. Do I not know which road is farther and which is nearer?" the driver debated with Song Jiaren.
"Who says so? It’s not the route we took when we came. It’s much faster than the way you’re driving now!" Song Jiaren said.
The driver initially thought Song Jiaren really knew the way, but upon hearing her mention it, he realized she’d only been through once, so his tone became more aggressive, trying to intimidate Song Jiaren with his manner: "You just took the route once, what do you know? Can the route coming and going be the same? When you came, it was downhill, going back this way is downhill!"
"Do you think I’m a three-year-old? I can’t tell the difference between uphill and downhill in a car?" Song Jiaren, also stubborn, couldn’t help but respond angrily when the driver’s tone intensified.
"You may not be three, but you’re 30, is that okay with you? You say I detoured, even if I had ten mouths, I couldn’t justify it. So, what do you propose?" The driver resorted to shameless tactics.
"So you’re admitting you took a detour, right?" Song Jiaren said.
"If you think I detoured, then fine, I detoured." The driver said.
"Alright, when I came, it cost 120 yuan, and I’ll only give you 120 yuan to go back." Song Jiaren said.
"What?" The driver was taken aback.
"It was daytime when you came. It’s midnight now, okay? In the city, the night starting fare is two yuan more expensive than during the day, and you want me to take you from the film city to Minghe for 120? Goodbye!" The driver hit the brakes and stopped the car.
"Get off!" The driver was about to leave Song Jiaren right there in the wilderness.
Song Jiaren thought for a moment, realizing the car had just passed Stone Town and hadn’t gone far, so she steeled her resolve and got out of the car without paying.
"Come back! The meter’s been running, and it’s already over 40 yuan." The driver called out to Song Jiaren.
