"If you’re unwell, speak up early. I’m warning you, there’s something odd about this crew; be careful and report anything unusual." Zhang Lijiao kindly warned Shen Jiayan.
"I got it, Sister Jiao." Shen Jiayan nodded and continued filming.
One scene involved running on the street, and as Shen Jiayan was running, suddenly her legs gave out and she fell on the ground.
"What’s happened?" Zhou Yuanzhi asked Shen Jiayan.
Shen Jiayan didn’t answer but sat down and began removing her shoes.
"What are you doing?" Zhou Yuanzhi asked in confusion.
Once Shen Jiayan removed her shoes, Zhang Lijiao stepped forward to see that her pink socks were worn through, exposing her raw and tender feet, which were abraded to the point bones were visible.
"Glass powder!" Zhang Lijiao guessed what had happened at a glance.
Zhang Lijiao squatted down, picked up one of Shen Jiayan’s shoes, and gently shook it.
Blood-stained, glittering powder gently spilled out of Shen Jiayan’s shoe.
"Shameless! Despicable and dishonest! They’ll use any underhanded trick!" Zhang Lijiao cursed, grinding her teeth.
Upon hearing Zhang Lijiao’s words, Zhou Yuanzhi also approached, took a look at Shen Jiayan’s still bleeding feet, and sighed softly.
"You’re being silly. When your feet started feeling uncomfortable, you should have told us. Look at Feng Yuzhi; she complains when a firework is too loud next door, but here you are with worn-out feet without telling us." Zhou Yuanzhi spoke not in a blaming tone but with pity for Shen Jiayan.
"That Feng must have done it! I’m actually impressed by her audacity! Why don’t we call the police and arrest her?" Feng Yuzhi said to Zhou Yuanzhi.
"If she dare do this, it means she’s prepared for it; it’s not that simple." Niu Yun chimed in.
"Moreover, it surely wasn’t Feng Yuzhi who personally did it, and even if we catch her subordinates, we can’t do anything to her." Zhou Yuanzhi told everyone.
"Enough, let’s stop talking, and get her to the infirmary first." Zhang Lijiao suggested.
However, Shen Jiayan was injured in both feet and couldn’t stand.
"I warned you to be careful, and now you’re suffering!" Zhang Lijiao said to Shen Jiayan.
Shen Jiayan, tears pooling in her eyes from the pain, remained silent.
"Come on, let’s have a few staff members take Miss Shen to the infirmary." Zhou Yuanzhi called for help.
A few staff members came to take Shen Jiayan away. Niu Yun, Zhou Yuanzhi, Zhang Lijiao, and several other staff members gathered together, sighing without speaking.
