Chapter 2501 - 2290: What Are You Jealous About? (Part 2)
Chapter 2501: Chapter 2290: What Are You Jealous About? (Part 2)
"I’m sorry, Miss Feng, I’m not in a good state today, but I’ll try my best later." Shen Jiayan looked down at the toes of her shoes, sincerely apologizing to Feng Yuzhi, just as Feng Yuzhi’s staff would do.
"What’s the use of apologizing? I told you before, if you can’t play the lead role, don’t try. If you don’t do it well, you’ll be criticized. But you didn’t listen! Now look at what you’ve done, see how mad you’ve made Director Zhou!" Feng Yuzhi suddenly seemed to care about Director Zhou.
Shen Jiayan simply kept her head down and stayed silent.
"Cat got your tongue? Why aren’t you speaking? Regretting now? It’s not too late to back out now. If you know you’re not suited for it, don’t force yourself! Just look at yourself, do you really think you’re lead actress material?" Feng Yuzhi continued scolding Shen Jiayan fiercely.
Meanwhile, Zhou Yuanzhi was squatting in a corner smoking, contemplating and reflecting on his life.
Zhou Yuanzhi had worked with many amateurs before, but none as raw as Boss Niu.
When Boss Niu acted alongside Feng Yuzhi before, he performed well, not because Feng Yuzhi coached him well or because Niu Yun was particularly insightful, but because he was the male lead, and Feng Yuzhi was the female second; there was no emotional entanglement between them, just a chance meeting and dry conversation, nothing difficult any passerby could act out.
Chapter 2291: An Entire Semester of Fighting
But the play between Niu Yun and Shen Jiayan was different. As the male and female leads, their scenes involved a lot of emotional depth, requiring expressive eyes, posture, lines, and action. Shen Jiayan, although a promising talent, seemed a bit raw at this point, and as for Boss Niu, he was completely clueless about acting.
Zhou Yuanzhi was very dissatisfied with both their performances; he could honestly say he’d never seen such poor acting before, especially from Boss Niu. Now, Zhou Yuanzhi was seriously considering whether inviting Boss Niu to act was the right decision.
Even if Niu Yun did invest in the film, tarnishing my reputation like this is indeed a problem.
Niu Yun was clever, and when he saw Director Zhou leave, he pretty much understood what was going on, so he directly approached Zhou Yuanzhi.
"Director Zhou, I’m really sorry, I truly don’t understand acting and have caused trouble for you." Seeing Zhou Yuanzhi squatting in the corner, Niu Yun also came over, squatted down beside him.
"Boss Niu, it was my fault earlier; I shouldn’t have expected you to perform like a seasoned actor. After all, you are a complete outsider." Zhou Yuanzhi began reflecting on his own faults.
Niu Yun, squatting beside Zhou Yuanzhi, pulled out a cigarette, lit it, took a puff, and exhaled a wisp of smoke.
"When I was small, I was weak, but I was especially stubborn. Other boys used to bully me, ganging up on me and hitting me."
"But I refused to be intimidated. There were many of them, so I told them I surrendered, then watched for when they were alone, and beat each one of them up. Then they ganged up on me again, so I spent the whole semester doing nothing but watching them, waiting for when they’d be alone, and I’d strike."
"Just like that, I fought those guys for an entire semester and finally made them yield to me."
"But even though they stopped bullying me, they started picking on others. So I kept fighting them. The classmates who had been bullied were inspired seeing a scrawny kid like me fight the tall, strong guys in our class."
"They all wanted me to be their leader, so the smaller guys in our class banded together under me, always ready to fight those bigger guys when there was a chance."
"In the end, I got expelled."
Niu Yun looked up, watching the smoke from his cigarette slowly dissipate into the air.
"Back then, I thought if I knew martial arts and could be a chivalrous hero helping the weak in the Martial World, that would be amazing," Niu Yun sighed, with a self-mocking smile.
"Now that I have money, people envy me, constantly surrounding and flattering me, but only I know that the dream I most wanted to achieve in my life can never be realized."
Niu Yun looked around at the period movie set, unable to suppress a sigh.
"So Boss Niu wants to make movies with me and specifically chose to do a period film," Zhou Yuanzhi said to Niu Yun.
"Exactly, even if I can’t be a hero in real life, I can at least enjoy the thrill of it in movies!" Niu Yun turned his head and gave Zhou Yuanzhi a smile.
"I get it, Boss Niu isn’t suited for emotional scenes, so we’ll skip those subtle emotional parts. We’ll adjust the character to be grim and aloof; we can emphasize emotions through actions instead, without putting so much weight on facial expressions and eye contact," Zhou Yuanzhi said to Niu Yun.
"You’re the director, arrange it however you like."
"That won’t do. After all, Boss Niu, you’re the leading man. I don’t care about the box office for this movie; I’m making the film you want, Boss Niu." Zhou Yuanzhi declared, ready to give it his all.
