"All right then, I really will just treat this as coming here to play!" Liu Yun said to Zhou Yuanzhi with a big grin.
"Of course, of course!" Zhou Yuanzhi nodded repeatedly in agreement.
"Okay, since we’re here to have some fun, and we’ve run into someone working under Mr. Song, how about I treat everyone to dinner tonight?" Niu Yun asked Zhou Yuanzhi, Zhang Lijiao, and Shen Jiayan.
"Boss Niu, how could we let you do that? You’re here in our crew, that means you’re one of our actors now. It’s already our duty to at least give you a boxed lunch, how could we let you be the one treating us? Even if we go out for a proper meal, it should be me treating you, President Liu!" Zhou Yuanzhi said to Niu Yun.
"Are you just being polite, or do you really want to treat me to dinner?" Niu Yun asked him with a chuckle.
"Boss Niu, don’t make fun of me. An invitation to dinner can’t be fake. I might just be a small-time director and not as generous as you, Boss Niu, but I’m not so poor that I can’t even afford one meal, right?" Zhou Yuanzhi said to Niu Yun.
"All right then, it’s a deal. I also don’t really know what good places there are to eat around here, so tonight I’ll be counting on you to arrange it, Zhou?" Niu Yun asked Zhou Yuanzhi.
Zhou Yuanzhi readily replied, "Sure, sure, no problem at all. I’ll contact you again this evening. By then, Miss Zhang, Miss Shen, you both have to come drink with Director Chen Niu!"
After hearing what Zhou Yuanzhi said, Zhang Lijiao answered enthusiastically, "No problem, no problem, tonight I must properly toast Boss Niu with a couple of drinks!"
Shen Jiayan also said to Boss Niu, "All right, all right!"
After hearing what Zhang Lijiao and Shen Jiayan said, Zhou Yuanzhi then turned to Boss Niu and said, "Since that’s settled, Boss Niu, we’ll take it as confirmed!"
"All right, all right, see you tonight then. I’ve got things to do, so I’ll head off first!" Niu Yun was about to leave.
"I’ll walk Boss Niu out!"

The three of them, Zhou Yuanzhi, Zhang Lijiao, and Shen Jiayan, escorted Niu Yun to his car together.
They left Feng Yuzhi standing there alone in awkward silence, staring resentfully at the backs of Zhang Lijiao and Shen Jiayan.
Throughout the whole discussion about dinner, not a single person mentioned Feng Yuzhi.
It was as if the rest of them were all very close, and only Feng Yuzhi was being deliberately shut out.
Over dinner that evening, Zhou Yuanzhi, Niu Yun, Zhang Lijiao, and Shen Jiayan conveniently nailed down a lot of things like the script, casting, and roles, and the next day they started test shooting.
Boss Niu was pretty busy, so Zhou Yuanzhi decided to shoot his scenes first. But Boss Niu really didn’t understand acting at all. Shen Jiayan was a junior after all, so she didn’t dare point fingers at him; and with Feng Yuzhi standing right there, Zhang Lijiao just pressed her lips together and watched, smiling faintly without saying a word.
So this chance to curry favor and get close to Niu Yun ended up being handed to Feng Yuzhi for nothing by Shen Jiayan and Zhang Lijiao.
While filming the scene between Niu Yun and Feng Yuzhi, after Director Zhou called for a reshoot several times in a row, Feng Yuzhi finally spoke up and said softly to Niu Yun, "Boss Niu, this isn’t how you act this scene."
"Then how am I supposed to act it?" Don’t be fooled by how Zhou Yuanzhi kept buttering up Boss Niu during breaks; the moment the cameras rolled he turned into a vicious, snarling director, shouting at Niu Yun nonstop. The more he scolded, the less Niu Yun knew what he was supposed to do.
"Come, Boss Niu, I’ll teach you."
Feng Yuzhi began patiently coaching Niu Yun on how to act.
"Your eyes are growing out of the top of your skull, huh? You can only see the sky. Good thing you’re not afraid of getting your eyes flooded when it rains! Why are you treating your staff like they’re your servants?" Seeing Feng Yuzhi giving instructions on set, Zhou Yuanzhi couldn’t help muttering a sarcastic comment about her under his breath.
"Listening to Miss Feng really opened my eyes! Director Zhou, let’s shoot another one—I think I kind of get it now!" After a round of pointers from Feng Yuzhi, Niu Yun finally grasped a few details and turned back to shout to Zhou Yuanzhi.
"All right, I’d like to see exactly what Miss Feng has taught Boss Niu to do!" There was a note of sarcasm in Zhou Yuanzhi’s tone.
But unexpectedly, after learning from Feng Yuzhi for a bit, Boss Niu actually got the hang of it. The footage that came out was much more natural than before, and Zhou Yuanzhi was very pleased.
"Very good, very good, keep it up!" Zhou Yuanzhi nodded as he gave a thumbs-up to both Feng Yuzhi and Niu Yun.
"Jia Yan, didn’t we agree yesterday that you’d be the one to coach Boss Niu? Such a great chance to suck up to him, how did it end up falling into that Feng woman’s lap?" Zhang Lijiao said to Shen Jiayan.
"What could I do? His first scene is with her," Shen Jiayan replied.
"She might boss her own staff around like they’re her lackeys, but in front of a director and a big boss, she really knows how to play it. Who knows how many big bosses she’s sweet-talked into her pocket. When it comes to handling men, she’s got it down. I thought with Boss Niu here he’d be our backing so we wouldn’t have to put up with that Feng woman’s crap, but who would’ve thought she’d latch onto him faster than we could!" Zhang Lijiao looked at Feng Yuzhi with a mix of jealousy and mockery.
"She does her scenes with him, I do mine. What can she really do to me?" Shen Jiayan honestly had no idea how scary Feng Yuzhi could be.
"You’d better be careful. I’m telling you, that woman is capable of using any dirty trick under the sun. If you suffer for it later, it’ll be too late!" Zhang Lijiao warned Shen Jiayan.
"Got it, Sister Jiao, I’ll be careful." Shen Jiayan replied.
On the other side, Boss Niu was very grateful for Feng Yuzhi’s guidance, and he really did start to feel some goodwill toward her.
"I really would have been lost without Miss Feng today. That Director Zhou may seem easygoing usually, but once he’s working, why is he so damn fierce?" Boss Niu murmured quietly into Feng Yuzhi’s ear.
Waiting off to the side for their own scenes, Zhang Lijiao and Shen Jiayan couldn’t help complaining.
Zhang Lijiao said, "Look, look at that, whispering secrets already. Doing that in front of so many people, doesn’t she feel any shame? Men are all the same!"
