Chapter 2481: Chapter 2270: Honorary Vice President_6
"Mr. Song, you should have a meal before leaving. You’ve come all this way, and we can’t let you go without teaching us a lesson. It’s their problem if they can’t recognize a treasure when they see one. There are always people who can recognize greatness! Mr. Song, come with me. If anyone dares to disagree, I’ll kick them out!" Zhang Guomin gestured toward the door of the conference room and spoke to Song Xiaodong.
"I’m not going; I’ll wait for them to invite me." Song Xiaodong replied.
"Invite you?" Zhang Guomin had lived long enough to guess that Song Xiaodong might have already clashed with these stubborn old men. So he said to Song Xiaodong, "Mr. Song, if you’re waiting for them to invite you, then you definitely shouldn’t leave. I’ll find a place for Mr. Song to rest and wait until they’ve finished their discussion. Then, I’ll invite Mr. Song to give them a lesson."
Song Xiaodong said nothing, and Zhang Guomin went around the floor to find a lounge room, arranging for a female staff member to stay by Song Xiaodong’s side, serving him tea and water.
After calming Song Xiaodong down, Zhang Guomin returned to the conference room of the seminar, only to find a group of elderly people had left their seats and clustered around something.
"What’s going on?" Zhang Guomin walked over, puzzled.
Upon seeing Zhang Guomin, Zhao Dinghang quickly started voicing his grievances.
"Doctor Zhang, you’re finally here; you must speak up for me!" Zhao Dinghang, with only one movable arm, grasped Zhang Guomin’s hand with it, looking pitiable as if he were a oppressed commoner, imploring Zhang Guomin.
"What’s the matter with you, Mr. Zhao? Sit down and speak properly." Zhang Guomin had dealt with people like Zhao Dinghang for a lifetime and knew them all too well. Seeing Zhao Dinghang like this, Zhang Guomin didn’t need to guess to know a conflict had arisen between him and Song Xiaodong. In fact, this was exactly what Zhang Guomin was hoping for.
Without provoking Song Xiaodong, how else could he be convinced to showcase his true capabilities in front of these arrogant people?
"Professor Zhang, did you take away my apprentice Guo Xilong’s spot?" Zhao Dinghang asked Zhang Guomin.
"Old Zhao, I indeed made the decision on that matter." Zhang Guomin admitted frankly.
"Ah, Professor Zhang, what kind of arrangement is this? You said my apprentice was young and didn’t let him participate due to limited spots, which might be fine, but with seasoned old TCM doctors like Zhang Guowei and Xu Lifeng, why don’t you allow them to attend either? Yet you’ve brought in a young man named Song without any decorum at all. We, being the elders, tried teaching the younger ones as is natural, all for their own good. But this Mr. Song you invited, my, he’s unbelievably arrogant! After saying just a couple of words, he went toe-to-toe with me, see what he did to me! My entire arm now has no feeling because of him!" Zhao Dinghang said to Zhang Guomin.
Initially, Zhang Guomin was smiling, but hearing Zhao Dinghang’s words, his expression suddenly turned cold.
"Mr. Zhao, Mr. Song wouldn’t just disable your arm for no reason, right?" Zhang Guomin queried Zhao Dinghang.
Just moments ago, he was calling him Old Zhao, but after hearing Zhao Dinghang, he switched to Mr. Zhao.
"Professor Zhang, what are you saying? Do you mean I was in the wrong? He’s young, merely running a beverage factory, on what grounds can he replace my apprentice in attending a national-level acupuncture medical academic seminar? Just because he hails from Minghe? Professor Zhang, I disagree with such arrangements; I have objections!" Zhao Dinghang said to Zhang Guomin.
Glancing at Zhao Dinghang’s seemingly fractured arm, Zhang Guomin told him, "On what grounds? Simply because none of the acupuncture experts in this room could fix your arm!"
The faces of the acupuncture experts in the room turned bleak.
"Aren’t you the ones questioning his medical skills, deeming him an outsider? Aren’t you all experts? Why is it that such a minor problem goes unremedied among you?" Zhang Guomin scolded the old men and women present.
"Professor Zhang, Mr. Zhao’s condition was caused by Mr. Song; of course, we can’t remedy it. Only Mr. Song can fix it." An elderly lady retorted to Zhang Guomin with defiance.
"If you get hit by a car, is it the car that caused it, and do you let the car or the driver mend it?" Zhang Guomin’s rebuttal rendered the elderly lady speechless.
"Professor Zhang, don’t underestimate us either; I refuse to believe that one needle from this Mr. Song can leave us experts helpless!"
"Exactly, Expert Zhao, bear with it. Let’s try a few other acupoints!"
There were still a few experts unconvinced that insisted on needling Zhao Dinghang.
Zhao Dinghang’s arm was already full of needle marks; on one arm, how many acupoints could there be? Almost every single one had been needled several times.
It was beyond miserable.
"Professor Zhang, esteemed colleagues, please stop tormenting me; my arm is about to become a beehive..." Zhao Dinghang was being needled by a group of acupuncture experts, questioning life.
"Humph, you brought it upon yourself! Do you realize how much I went through to invite this Mr. Song? Compared to Mr. Song, you can hardly be considered physicians; how are you any different from those itinerant doctors in the countryside using folk remedies? A casual needle from him can paralyze you so-called acupuncture experts, and an entire room of professors and experts can’t fix it, yet you dare to call him an outsider?" Zhang Guomin’s scolding left the experts and professors present speechless, their faces flushed red.
"Professor Zhang, this Mr. Song is young, but he’s quite capable. I wonder what his background is?" Zhao Dinghang, being needled by the acupuncture experts, was somewhat dispirited and asked Zhang Guomin wistfully.
"What background? You don’t even know his background, yet you dare to look down on him? Deservedly, he disabled you with a needle!" Zhang Guomin was quite harsh towards Zhao Dinghang.
Zhao Dinghang glared at Zhang Guomin, but said nothing.
"Let me tell you what this Mr. Song’s background is. Have you heard of the Rejuvenation Acupuncture?" Zhang Guomin asked the assembled experts.
"Oh... turns out he’s under Professor He!" Zhao Dinghang exclaimed, realizing.
It seemed everything fell into place with that revelation.
"Ah, turns out he’s a successor of the Rejuvenation Acupuncture; we indeed acted improperly this time!" Qian Hengbo chimed in.
"Indeed, Professor He’s Rejuvenation Acupuncture is miraculous, reviving the dead. If Mr. He’s successor could attend our acupuncture academic seminar, we’d truly be honored!" Sun Hongmian nodded in agreement.
