Chapter 2385: Chapter 2195: What Kind of World Is This

Fortunately, it was discovered early, fortunately, the factory staff sneak drinks every day, and fortunately, what has been produced now is just stock and hasn’t been delivered to the supermarkets yet.

Facing challenges with calmness, Song Xiaodong remained poised, showing no sign of panic. He enhanced the security measures around the factory and installed 24-hour surveillance, waiting for those audacious individuals to make another move.

"So, what do you plan to do?" Li Sijie asked Song Xiaodong.

"Nothing much, we’ll just wait and see what tricks they can pull. I’ve already sent people to investigate the whereabouts of this corpse oil, sooner or later, they’ll slip up." Song Xiaodong said to Li Sijie.

"Oh, what kind of world is this? Selling drinks and still poisoning people by throwing poison in the water tower. What if someone dies? It’s truly heartless!" Li Sijie said.

"If it’s just regular people, drinking a little less won’t kill them. But I’m worried about those who are already very weak. Drinking the beverage could worsen their condition and might even lead to fatalities." Song Xiaodong said.

"What’s wrong with people nowadays? How can they be so wicked!" Li Sijie said.

In the middle of the night, Song Xiaodong was startled awake by the sound of pouring rain. The cold weather made Xiao Yingying, lying next to him, shiver and hug Song Xiaodong tightly.

Feeling anxious, Song Xiaodong thought of the piece of jade given to him by Li Wenxin. He got out of bed, took it from the drawer, and carefully examined the four-line poem engraved on it.

Li Wenxin’s mysterious hints were all too clear. It seemed to indicate that the problem lay with one of Song Xiaodong’s apprentices. However, the only apprentice who truly learned Song Xiaodong’s skills was Lu Yaobing.

Early the next morning, Song Xiaodong, feeling uneasy, called Lu Yaobing.

"Apprentice?"

"Master." Lu Yaobing’s voice was soft and weak, with a stuffy nose.

"What’s wrong?" Song Xiaodong asked.

"Nothing much. I went out with my roommate yesterday. I might have caught a cold." Lu Yaobing told Song Xiaodong.

"You’re a physician, and I taught you—how can you catch a cold?" Song Xiaodong asked incredulously.

"Everyone catches colds; why wouldn’t I?" Lu Yaobing responded.

"With finals approaching, what will you do with a cold?" Song Xiaodong asked worriedly.

"It’s fine. I’ve already taken medicine this morning." Lu Yaobing replied.

"How are you feeling now? Feeling any better?" Song Xiaodong asked Lu Yaobing.

"I just took the medicine; it hasn’t kicked in yet." Lu Yaobing replied.

"Come to the Su Family Courtyard so I can take a look at you." Song Xiaodong told Lu Yaobing.

"No need, Master, it’s just a cold. I probably just got chilled. Some fever medicine will suffice." Lu Yaobing replied.

"When will the cold medicine you took start working? I’ll make you some medicine and give you a few acupuncture treatments; you’ll be fine by noon." Song Xiaodong said to Lu Yaobing.

"Master, I need to study for exams. If I go to your house, the sisters will pull me into playing games again." Lu Yaobing refused.

"Then bring your books here, and I’ll talk to them." Song Xiaodong insisted.

"Really, it’s just a cold, Master." Lu Yaobing said.

"Honestly, you went out to have fun and got a cold, and you’re a physician! What kind of constitution is that?" Song Xiaodong scolded Lu Yaobing.

"I know, I know..."

"No way, if you don’t come, I’ll come to you."

"No need, Master, your coming will disturb my studies." Lu Yaobing said.

"Stop arguing; I’m coming now."

Song Xiaodong took some herbs and his medical kit and drove to find Lu Yaobing.

"Master, I told you not to come to me; it’ll disturb my studies." Lu Yaobing said, looking down at the tips of her shoes, fidgeting as she spoke.

"Lift your head." Song Xiaodong said to Lu Yaobing.

"Why?" Lu Yaobing obediently lifted her head, blinking her large eyes at Song Xiaodong.

"Why is your face so pale?" Song Xiaodong frowned, asking Lu Yaobing with a serious expression.

"We with bad constitutions, when we catch a cold and have a fever, our faces look like this!" Lu Yaobing said, with her hands behind her back, kicking a small stone on the ground.

"Let me feel your forehead to see if it’s hot." Without another word, Song Xiaodong reached out to touch Lu Yaobing’s forehead.

"Hey, what are you doing?" Lu Yaobing leaned her head to the side, looking at Song Xiaodong with a smile, while arching her back to avoid his hand.

"The dorm manager is behind us, and my roommates are upstairs peeking from behind the curtain." Lu Yaobing pointed to the dorm entrance behind her and then to the window of her dorm on the fourth floor.

"I’m your elder, so what?" Song Xiaodong said, sticking his belly out and putting on a stern face towards Lu Yaobing.

"That’s what you think, but my roommates don’t see it that way." Lu Yaobing said, standing on her toes, straightening her body, holding her bag with both hands, knees bumping against it, and nodding towards her dorm window on the fourth floor.

"And how do your roommates think?" Song Xiaodong asked, following Lu Yaobing’s gaze.

"Um..." Lu Yaobing pinched her cheek, tilting her head towards the sky, pondering silently.
