Just as he was reeling in confusion, a very familiar mosquito flapped its wings and flew leisurely before his eyes.
"You!" The Holy Emperor’s eyes turned bloodshot the moment he saw Chu Sheng. "It was you! You’re the one who made the tsunami swallow Sakura Country! This is all your doing!"
He struggled furiously, trying to lunge forward and kill Chu Sheng, but he could not break free from the dog Demon Beast’s powerful grip.
"You damn mosquito! I, the Emperor, will subject you to death by a thousand cuts! I will grind your bones to dust!"
"Idiot." Chu Sheng’s voice echoed calmly in his mind via soul transmission. "You were set up by your own Ancient Gods."
He extended a foreleg, pointing at the hand with which the Sakura Holy Emperor clutched the Baqi Mirror. "The moment the Baqi Mirror is removed, Mount Fuji erupts, a tsunami appears, and all of Sakura Country is swallowed by the sea."
"This was all planned long ago by the very Ancient Gods you worship."
"Impossible! Absolutely impossible! How could the great Ancient Gods deceive me? They are the guardian deities of Sakura!" the Holy Emperor roared hysterically, refusing to believe the truth.
"Use your brain, you idiot," Chu Sheng said with contempt. "Do you really think I’m powerful enough to conjure a tsunami of this magnitude?"
Chu Sheng’s question was like a sharp dagger, twisting cruelly in the Holy Emperor’s heart.
The expression on his face slowly went slack.
