Chapter 773 - 767: Spiritual Beast Poison Insects, Evil Ghosts Compete
Under the command of the Beast Taming Sect’s cultivators, countless Spiritual Beasts formed ranks and cooperated in an orderly fashion.
The Spiritual Beasts suited for frontal assaults, such as Giant Bears, Fierce Apes, Barbarian Bulls, Wild Lions, Fierce Tigers, Barbaric Elephants, and other large Spiritual Beasts, charged towards the Monster Army, engaging in close-quarter combat with their formidable Physical Body Power.
In mid-air, large flocks of Spiritual Birds fought against the flying monsters of the Monster Army. Although they were more numerous, allowing some to split off to provide aerial support to the Spiritual Beasts on the ground, a long-range battle unfolded in the sky. Various Magic Divine Powers were deployed in rapid succession, raining down upon the monster horde below and spraying blood in every direction, distracting the monsters from focusing on the opponents in front of them!
Beneath the ground, some Spiritual Beasts adept at the Earth Escape Technique appeared and disappeared mysteriously, occasionally dragging monsters underground with a bite or a snatch, or employing various Earth Element Divine Powers.
The ground would suddenly sprout sharp earth spears or become a swamp of quicksand, throwing the battlefield into disarray and forcing the monsters to be vigilant against attacks from below while engaged in combat.
In locations with rivers and lakes, numerous Spiritual Beasts submerged themselves in the water, utilizing the water currents to unleash various Water Element Divine Powers or conjure tremendous waves to sweep through vast swaths of the Monster Army.
Besides these, some Spiritual Beasts possessed unique Innate Divine Abilities, making them especially tricky to handle.
For instance, the Evil Jiao Dragon capable of emitting vast clouds of poison, the Spiritual Beasts with Space Talents, and those adept at stealth and surprise attacks all made it incredibly difficult for the monsters to guard against.
Even though these types of Spiritual Beasts were relatively few in number, the vast quantities of Beast Taming Sect’s cultivators meant that a few were present on every battlefield.
The various strategies put into action resulted in the Monster Army being caught in disarray across the battlefields. Turning this way and that, always one step behind and in a constant state of annoyance.
This wasn’t because the wizards’ transformation of the Monster Army was ineffective, but rather because the monsters themselves, stemming from a Medium World, were inherently less powerful; they couldn’t compare to the Demon Beasts of the Biluo Great World!
Thus, in battles involving the Beast Taming Sect, the Monster Army was quickly at a disadvantage.
Although the battlefields involving other Major Sects didn’t exhibit as clear an advantage as the Beast Taming Sect, they too were relatively at ease.
The Five Poisons Sect had billions of Poison Insects paving the way! The Monster Army was capable of holding their own in direct combat, their previous opponents being merely Plant Spirits within the Canglan Realm. When had they ever faced such peculiar and ferocious Poison Insects?
Lacking any means to counter the Poison Insects, the Monster Army quickly found themselves being devoured in droves, only managing to curb the aggression of the Five Poisons Sect with the help of the wizards.
But that was only a temporary defense.
With cultivators allied with Plant Spirits greatly outnumbering their enemies, it wasn’t without reason that this war was called an encirclement!
Moreover, the Five Poisons Sect’s cultivators had even more tricks up their sleeves; the billions of Poison Insects were merely the vanguard. Their most powerful Poison Insects were their Lifebound Poisons.
Even with the wizards’ exceedingly unusual witchcraft, facing the unforeseen and indefensible nature of Poison Insects was overwhelming. Some less powerful wizards didn’t even realize how they had been targeted before they had their lives snatched away by the formidable Poison Insects.
The battlefields involving the Ghost Controlling Sect were even more shadowy and terrifying. Beneath the horrifying sight of Yin Qi shrouding half the sky, the countless ghostly shadows chilled even the Plant Spirits, not to mention the Monster Army facing legions of Yin Soul Ghost Objects.
Even the wizards found it incredibly hard to escape under the pervasive siege of the Ghost Item. No matter which direction they chose to flee, Yin Soul Ghost Objects would trace the living essence on them, exposing many of the wizards’ whereabouts.
And even after the wizards learned to hide their essence and sealed their Qi Blood Power, evading detection was still difficult under the search of the Ghost Controlling Sect’s Immortals and the formidable Heavenly Ghosts.
Although the cultivators of Chaotian Palace didn’t seem to have as many resources as the three Sects, such as the Beast Taming Sect, they were, after all, a long-standing Major Sect, with the Chaotian Ancestor being a prodigiously talented individual who had cultivated countless Daoist techniques in his early years. The disciples knew myriad techniques, and Elixir Talisman Arrays and other Techniques were all utilized effectively. Relying on pure Daoist inheritance to form formations, their direct Killing Power on the battlefield far surpassed that of the other Major Sects’ disciples.
After all, without the distraction of nurturing Spiritual Beasts, Poison Insects, and Yin Soul Ghost Objects, the disciples of Chaotian Palace were, on the whole, stronger in individual War Power than the disciples of the other three Sects.
Compared to the overwhelming advantage of the cultivators, the cheers of the Plant Spirits for their powerful allies achieving an easy victory contrasted with the despair of the wizards.
They had not expected the Divine King to ally with the cultivators; after all, they had previously been locked in life and death struggles, even with the Divine Spirits of the Divine King lineage entering the fray against All Immortals. Little did they expect the situation to shift so rapidly!
They also hadn’t anticipated that the vast Monster Army, years in creation, would face such a crushing defeat on its first display, thousands of years of effort culminating in slaughter!
What they found even harder to accept was that each of the cultivators was incredibly powerful, making it exceedingly difficult for them to escape.
If they were only facing the Plant God wizards, it wouldn’t have been a serious concern. Even with the gods’ overwhelming numbers, most wizards were confident they could evade the pursuit of All Gods. But the cultivators were different.
These cultivators, emerging from unknown worlds, each had an array of extraordinary techniques. Especially the immortals from various sects, whose countless methods even wizards found overwhelming when faced head-on, forcing them to rely on peculiar witchcraft for sneak attacks and assassinations, such as curses from the Curse System, and the Destiny System witchcraft.
Only these methods could instill fear in the cultivators, deterring them from pressing too closely, fearing injury to their very lives.
But within the wizards themselves, factions were also divided; not all wizards were proficient in curses and destiny witchcraft, so they inevitably suffered once the battle commenced.
In single combat, wizards might not be inferior to cultivators of the same level, and ordinary cultivators might even fall prey to their traps due to unfamiliarity with their techniques.
But this was war, and whether it was Divine Kings or the two ancient ancestors, after numerous strategic deductions, they laid out today’s scenario to outnumber and besiege the wizards, leaving no chance for them to escape.
Although the battlefields everywhere were exceptionally lively, the most magnificent momentum belonged to the battlefield of the Truth Wizard.
There was no helping it; after all, that was where four great powers capable of Proving Dao were clashing.
The Divine King’s own form was massive, empowered by the tremendous World Will. Every move could change the weather and pull at the mighty Heaven and Earth Laws, displaying a spell power that was frightening to witness.
Beimang Ancestor and Chaotian Ancestor, having proved Dao for many years and hailing from Biluo, had Dao cultivation far more formidable than the Divine King. Although in this realm they had no support from the World Will, once the World Will realized they were aiding the Divine King against the wizards, the Heavenly Dao Laws suppressing them began to dissolve invisibly, allowing them to unleash their combat power, no less than that of the Divine King bolstered by the World Will.
On the contrary, the Truth Wizard seemed rather pitiable.
Not only was he being ganged up on by three great powers, but the World Will’s suppression on him was extraordinarily strong, as if all the inhibiting power meant for Beimang Ancestor and Chaotian Ancestor was discharged onto him. In such circumstances, fighting against the three great powers made the Truth Wizard feel extremely aggrieved.
Talk less of his strength not yet reaching the peak of a seventh-level wizard; even if it had, he would still be no match for the three great powers, and Beimang Ancestor and Chaotian Ancestor were not like the Divine King.
The Divine King had only proved his Dao for a few thousand years and this was his first time clashing with other great powers. Beimang Ancestor and Chaotian Ancestor, however, had both been through the ancient great calamity of slaughter, emerging as true victors from a Corpse Mountain and Blood Sea. They had fought with great powers from various realms many times, and even had records of slaying great powers from other worlds!
Therefore, either of the two ancestors could single-handedly match the Truth Wizard in one-on-one combat, let alone now, when it was three against one and they even had the advantage of right time and place, quickly gaining the upper hand.
However, what made a great power truly formidable was their unique mastery of a Dao.
Even amidst the strong pressure from the three great powers, the Truth Wizard relied on his unique Dao for support and couldn’t be overcome easily in a short time!
Furthermore, the Truth Wizard didn’t hold back his strength during the battle, nor did he have the slightest pity or concern for this world, continually casting powerful witchcraft while fending off his opponents’ Dao. He deliberately damaged the realm.
He knew it would be very difficult to escape under these circumstances, so he aimed to use the turbulence of the four-way battle to damage this realm. Once the realm was damaged to a certain extent, its Qi fortune would diminish, the Laws would scatter, and a weak point in the Boundary Barrier might emerge, giving him the chance to burst through and escape into the Canglan Realm and then into the Outer Void.
Once in the Void, he was ninety percent confident of escaping with his life.
It wasn’t that Beimang Ancestor and the others couldn’t catch up with him, but rather, they dared not abandon the cultivator army to pursue him relentlessly!
Moreover, once in the Outer Void, bereft of the World Will’s support, the Divine King’s combat power would drop, and by then, he might even inflict a Severe Injury upon him!
Qin Feng’s eyes swirled with black and white, glancing at the great powers’ battlefield from afar before withdrawing his gaze, not daring to look too long.
The Divine King and the two ancestors wouldn’t trouble him, but the Truth Wizard wouldn’t be so courteous. Should he take umbrage at Qin Feng’s prying, Qin Feng wouldn’t be able to withstand his witchcraft!
So, he shifted his gaze to the battlefield below.
The battle of the great powers drifted further and further away, mainly because the Divine King didn’t want the Truth Wizard to cause too much damage to the world. The two ancestors were likewise willing to do him a favor, so they joined the Divine King in pushing the wizard up high into the sky. Although every now and then a powerful spell would fall from midair, causing mountains to crumble, the ground to collapse, rivers to break, it was still much better than before.
Qin Feng had arrived here with the Divine King.
As the Divine King and the two ancestors joined hands to besiege the Truth Wizard, Qin Feng remained below, but he didn’t join the battle down there right away.
Although he had just advanced to Heavenly Immortal and longed to find an opponent of equivalent strength for a battle to hone his combat prowess and understand his current level, those monsters were clearly not included in his options.
Fortunately, this was the Truth Wizard’s hiding place, the stronghold of the Canglan Realm’s wizards—there was no shortage of strong opponents for sparring!
At this moment, he had his eye on a figure hidden among the Monster Army!
