Reborn with a Space: Hoarding Food and Raising My Kid

Chapter 630 - 472: Where is Yara? Where Did She Go?

Chapter 630: Chapter 472: Where is Yara? Where Did She Go?

The Tree of Life was hidden inside Villa Three of the Morhaven base, known only to the Cross family.

In just one year, the spatial rifts on Earth had disappeared almost completely. The few remaining tiny spatial cracks were all distributed among the nine great secret realms.

The nine great secret realms were minor worlds formed from the annihilation of other, shattered worlds. The original natives of those worlds still lived there, making the realms fraught with danger.

The lands on Veridia’s northwestern border covered a much larger area than the seven existing human bases combined. A year ago, a mysterious organization from space established a new base there.

Aethelgard City.

After their forces were completely wiped out, all the great families of the Ancient Universe—with the exception of the Vaughn family—sent more people, establishing new cities across the vast northwestern region.

The northwest was vast and sparsely populated. Overnight, the superpower users from the great families had constructed small bases to serve as living quarters.

They each occupied their own territory throughout the northwest and erected defensive fortifications.

All the great families were in competition here, so establishing basic defenses was an absolute necessity.

It wasn’t that they didn’t want to move into other parts of Veridia.

A year ago, when they arrived on Earth as the second wave from the Ancient Universe, they quickly took up residence in several established bases.

Everything went well at first. They drove out the locals, occupied their own territories, and began searching for their mission objectives: a Divine-level Space Fragment and a Golden Crow.

But as time passed, they found neither the Divine-level Space Fragment nor the Golden Crow. Instead, rivers brimming with Spiritual Energy—some main channels, others tributaries—materialized out of thin air near the major bases.

The riverbanks were lined with countless stands of foxtail grass. Each stalk was at least as tall as an adult man. The thinnest stems were the width of a finger, while the thickest had become woody and were even sturdier than an ordinary tree trunk.

The members of the great families instantly recognized the Spirit River for the heavenly treasure it was, and they all rushed forward to collect its water.

But the moment they stepped into the field of foxtail grass, everything changed.

A giant grasshopper appeared. Its body had a metallic luster, giving it the imposing look of a warrior clad in golden armor.

It stood a meter tall. Its twitching antennae created a sound like scraping metal. Its abdomen was large, and the folded wings on its back vibrated as it issued a warning cry.

Intent on seizing the spiritual water, they ignored the giant grasshopper’s warning and attacked.

The superpower users sent by the Ancient Universe this second time were even stronger than the first. The weakest among them were at Nebula Level Two. Among the leaders of the great families, the strongest had reached the peak of the War God Level, while the weakest had already been at the War God Level for several years.

However, as their superpower attacks closed in on the grasshopper, a shimmering green light appeared and repelled them.

Not only did the attacks fail to reach the giant grasshopper, but the seemingly fragile green light absorbed them completely—swallowing even the faint traces of spiritual power they had used to cast them.

Refusing to accept this, they all unleashed their ultimate attacks. But to their astonishment, before the attacks could even touch the grasshopper, the green light devoured all of their deployed superpowers and spiritual power.

This development shocked every superpower user in the foxtail grass, and they began a hasty retreat.

The giant grasshopper did not give chase. Instead, it turned, burrowed into the foxtail grass, and vanished from sight.

But it wasn’t over yet.

As the men pushed their way through the foxtail grass, a superpower user from one of the families was suddenly tripped, and he fell. The next second, a piercing scream erupted from their feet.

The man scrambled back to his feet, his body covered in long, thin, green needles, clearly coated in poison.

His face rapidly turned green as the toxin took hold, and poisonous sores began to erupt on his skin. He seemed to be suffering from an unbearable itch and began to scratch himself frantically.

The sores burst, leaking green fluid that streamed down his body. Wherever the liquid touched healthy skin, new sores immediately began to form.

Seeing his condition, his companions immediately backed away, their eyes wide with terror.

"How can this be? He’s a Planet Level Three superpower user, one step away from the Cosmic Level! How could he be so badly injured by the thorns of a mutated plant?"

"Help me! It’s so itchy! It hurts! Quick, a Detoxification Pill! Shilin, the Detoxification Pill!"

"Oh, right! I... here, here it is! For you!"
