Chapter 609 - 464: Who Can Boast Bigger?
Chapter 609: Chapter 464: Who Can Boast Bigger?
Everyone noticed the fire bird hovering overhead and, of course, the group of people standing on its back. "Isn’t that Graham Cross and Solomon Sterling? Huh? Who are that man and woman in the lead? Why haven’t I seen them before?" Brick Acker tilted his head back, his face grim.
’He already knew this fight wouldn’t be simple. This fire bird alone could probably sweep aside everyone here below Cosmic Level!’
’In a battle like this, small fries like them were just the vanguard, sent to test the waters and serve as cannon fodder. But the die was cast, and they couldn’t turn back. They had the numbers, not to mention five War God Level experts leading the charge. They couldn’t retreat!’
’If they didn’t retreat, they might get nothing in the end and still end up as cannon fodder. But if they did retreat, not only would they get nothing, but if their side won, knowing how the Seymour and Rook families operated, the Acker family would be in for some hard times.’
"That’s Lex Cross! I came to Morhaven before, looking for Nina’s Soul Consciousness, but he crushed it! Ugh! Such a murderous young man. What will happen if he gets his hands on the Divine-level Space Fragment?"
"Is that fire bird from the Cross family? That thing doesn’t look simple. I’m afraid none of us, except for the War God experts, are a match for it!"
"What are you afraid of? The War God experts are saving their strength to deal with the three old-timers from the Cross family’s ancestral land. Why would they waste their energy on a mere beast?"
"True. The Cross family has earned everyone’s wrath this time, trying to hoard so many Crystal Stone fragments for themselves! We all came to Earth together. These fragments must be divided in consultation with all the great families. How can one family be allowed to dominate everything!"
The grunts, however, could only see the surface. The experts, especially the War God leading the Pryce family, Quentin Pryce, broke out in a cold sweat the moment he saw it.
"Shut up! Do you have any idea what kind of bird that is?"
"The Joyce family may not be active within the Ancient Star Nation, but we’re still worldly and have been around! That bird is radiating dense Fire Element Energy, it’s completely golden, and based on the shape of its tail feathers and body, it must be a descendant of a Phoenix!"
"What kind of insane luck did the Cross family stumble into, managing to get a Phoenix descendant as a mount? The Cross family’s reputation as a clan of fighters really is well-deserved!"
"Look at the fire bird’s feet!" Quentin Pryce couldn’t stand the chattering around him as they guessed at the bird’s rank, so he had to point it out.
"Look closely!"
The man from Thundersnow Temple had brought no clansmen. He stood alone, off to the side at the very front of the formation, and spoke. "Three legs, a golden body, and it can breathe fire. There’s no other possibility. It’s a Golden Crow.
Golden Crows rarely mate with other clans, so their bloodlines are very pure. But because of this, they are also extremely rare, almost to the point of extinction."
"It’s... really a member of the Golden Crow Clan?" Jude Seymour frowned and asked for confirmation.
Quentin Pryce and the man from Thundersnow Temple nodded one after the other.
With the fact confirmed by two War God experts from avian clans, there was no room for doubt or speculation. The Cross family, in the end, was truly not to be trifled with.
"Hey, you down there! Yes, you, Jude Seymour! Let the person go! Or do you want to see if my mount will burn you all to a crisp?" Flora Bloom stood on the Golden Crow’s back, looking down on the crowd from her commanding position.
Being in a high position really did give one a different kind of presence.
Jude Seymour, however, just chuckled dismissively. "Flora Bloom? Then you must be the young master of the Cross family, Lex Cross."
Lex Cross ignored such a pointless, direct question. Flora Bloom had the Golden Crow unleash a gout of flame without hesitation.
As expected, everyone except Quentin Pryce and the man from Thundersnow Temple scrambled to dodge—even a Cosmic Level expert like Aaron Rook.
Everyone in the Pryce family inherited a Fire Element superpower, so they could naturally and easily distinguish between different types of Fire Energy. This single breath of True Sun Fire filled Quentin Pryce, the Pryce family’s leading War God, with an unprecedented level of dread.
Both were Fire Element avian clans, but the Golden Crow was a Divine Beast, while their Fire Tribe was merely a powerful group among avian species. At best, they had distant ties to a Fire Element branch of the Phoenix Clan.
It was precisely because their bloodline was impure that cultivation was easier for them.
The Golden Crow looked down at the crowd and suddenly spoke in a human tongue. "You bird-men of the Fire Tribe below! I can see you share some heritage with me. Leave now, and I will not hold this against you. Otherwise, you will face the consequences!"
"Hmph! A stubborn old relic clinging to your ancient ways! Golden Crow or not, only the strong survive! In a moment, we’ll see who’s brought to their knees!"
His face contorted with fury, Quentin Pryce suddenly sprouted a pair of red wings and flew into the air, hovering at eye level with Flora Bloom and the others. He called out to the man still hesitating below, "Man of Thundersnow Temple, what are you waiting for? Let’s join forces and take care of all of them!
