Chapter 559 - 447: You’re Not Human, Are You? (Part 3)
Chapter 559: Chapter 447: You’re Not Human, Are You? (Part 3)
He suddenly paused. This woman exuded an aura of pure life energy. It seemed that ever since she appeared, the life energy within the cave had grown even richer.
Ever since the Vaughn family had come to settle on this mountain, they had scoured the entire mountain range but had never found the source of that life energy. The only thing they could confirm was that it emanated from within this cave.
And now, Flora Bloom had appeared in the cave, positively brimming with life energy. The look in Leopold Vaughn’s eyes as he watched her gradually changed.
"You... you’re not human, are you?"
"Huh?"
"What? You’re not human? Then how did you end up here? Speak! Are you plotting something against our Family Head?!"
Cecilia Vaughn’s mouth fell open in shock, and she completely forgot why she had come looking for the Family Head.
Leopold Vaughn gave the woman a benevolent look. ’She’s beautiful to the point of seeming inhuman, yet her aura is refreshingly pure and otherworldly.’ "Cecilia... Don’t talk nonsense!"
After a light reprimand from Leopold Vaughn, Cecilia Vaughn’s shock wore off. Showing no fear of Flora Bloom, she moved closer, leaning in and sniffing at her again and again.
"You really aren’t human! You smell so good! It’s that scent!"
Seeing Cecilia Vaughn sniffing around her like a puppy, Flora Bloom slapped her away. "What are you doing?!" Then she turned to Leopold Vaughn. "Since you’re all right now, I’m leaving. And let’s hope we never meet again!"
"Hey, you’re just leaving like that?! Wait!"
Ignoring Cecilia Vaughn’s shouts, Flora Bloom practically fled toward the cave entrance.
Leopold Vaughn and Cecilia Vaughn stared blankly for a moment. As Flora disappeared, Cecilia’s expression grew urgent. "Oh, I almost forgot! Family Head, we have to hurry! There’s a huge bird outside. None of our attacks can hurt it. I wonder if the Fire Tribe sent it to cause trouble!"
As Flora Bloom sprinted away, she thought about how long it had been since she’d seen Polly. ’I wonder if Polly misses me,’ she mused. ’I wonder if she’s crying out for her mommy since I’m not there.’
However, just as she reached the mouth of the cave, the situation took a sudden turn.
A group of people was surrounding the Golden Crow, each one unleashing their superpower against it.
The Golden Crow was a magnificent sight, massive in size with beautiful golden plumage. If it hadn’t been spewing a torrent of curses, the scene would have been fairly normal.
Just a normal scene of a group of people besieging a giant bird.
However, with the Golden Crow’s colorful commentary, the whole affair took on an entirely different feel.
"Ha! You ignorant humans dare to attack your Daddy Golden Crow?"
"Come on, come on! These tiny little flames aren’t even enough to scratch an itch for your Grandpa Golden Crow."
"Oh, you pathetic humans, did you forget to eat breakfast? An attack this weak couldn’t even ruffle a single feather on the great Lord Golden Crow!"
The group kept creating a racket, launching all sorts of superpowers at the Golden Crow. When Leopold Vaughn and Cecilia Vaughn rushed out, they saw a group of Vaughn family disciples unleashing completely useless superpower attacks against a giant bird.
When Flora Bloom saw Leopold Vaughn and Cecilia Vaughn emerge, she leaped onto the Golden Crow’s back to avoid any misunderstandings, urging it to leave at once.
As Leopold Vaughn watched the woman, bathed in light, ride away on the back of the great, flame-like bird, he made no move to stop her with his superpower. At that moment, he realized he would never be able to forget her.
"Family Head! Why didn’t you attack?"
"You’ve been attacking all this time. Has it done any good? Let’s go. Don’t just stand here gawking."
It wasn’t that he was being magnanimous and simply letting them go. Rather, after seeing the great bird, he was certain it wasn’t from the Fire Tribe. The true forms of the Fire Tribe members were nowhere near that large.
’A creature that large that can also speak human language is clearly not from some simple race.’
’It seems it was just here to pick that woman up.’
When Leopold Vaughn returned to the cave, he found that the Spiritual Energy and life energy within were even more abundant than before. A new Rose vine had appeared behind the fruit tree in the corner. However, this vine bore no flowers, and its stems were as hard as iron. He didn’t know that as Flora Bloom had fled past the tree, she had casually tossed it out from her personal space and nourished it with spiritual water.
This Rose vine was one of two that had been subjugated by the primary vine Flora Bloom tamed back when it was causing chaos in Morhaven Base. Its main stem was not large, but it was spiritually linked to her.
’This mountain range, where Archie once lived, is a bit larger than Korsan Base. With this Rose vine constantly releasing Spiritual Energy, plus all the other plants that have sprouted from being steeped in life energy, this place could become an excellent settlement.’
’But most importantly, the Rose vine’s presence will allow me to check in on the Vaughn family’s situation in these mountains whenever I need to.’
