Chapter 540: Chapter 441: A Timely Pillow (Part 2)
Suddenly, Thousand-Eyes stared at Flora Bloom. The part of his arm entangled by plant vines exploded outward, and he was just about to reach out and touch her.
"Watch out!" Archie and Lex Cross yelled simultaneously.
Thousand-Eyes’s newly freed hand was just about to touch Flora Bloom.
If this man also had a space Crystal Stone, he very likely had a personal space inside his body as well.
Both of them had witnessed the power of the ownership imprint from Flora Bloom’s space, and they were keenly aware of its might.
This trick was useless against them, but it was a different story for Flora Bloom.
With lightning-fast reflexes, Lex Cross unleashed a wave of his black, devouring superpower, completely enveloping Thousand-Eyes. This move not only blocked his path to Flora Bloom but also prevented him from possibly escaping into his space.
However, Lex Cross was overthinking it. Even though a space could be created when a Divine-level Space Fragment fused with a human, it was fundamentally different from the space Flora Bloom now possessed.
The rule of big fish eating small fish doesn’t just apply in the ocean. Although Thousand-Eyes’s space also had an ownership-imprinting function, it was incapable of pulling Flora Bloom inside.
Flora Bloom’s space had evolved from the fusion of four different elemental Crystal Stones. To put it another way, Flora Bloom, possessing a space born from four fused elemental Crystal Stones, had a higher life-level than Thousand-Eyes, who only had a single Spiritual Ability Crystal Stone.
And she, too, had sensed that something was off about Thousand-Eyes.
So, after Lex Cross had him under control, Flora Bloom suddenly gave Thousand-Eyes a sinister look. "Here to serve yourself up on a platter for me?"
Thousand-Eyes didn’t understand. His face contorted with rage as he glared at Archie. "Archie! You traitor! You actually conspired with humans to come after me!"
Archie dusted off his white clothes. His complexion wasn’t great, but his expression was filled with mirth. "Wrong. You failed to murder me, and got played by a human instead."
Flora Bloom was left speechless by Archie’s phrasing but was curious about Thousand-Eyes’s identity.
"He’s one of your Undying Clan, too? Why does he look so creepy? All those eyes... It’s a good thing my Polly didn’t tag along, or she’d be scared to tears."
"This thing is from the Thousand-Eyes Clan, a part of the Undying Clan, isn’t it?" Lex Cross’s words suddenly seemed to invigorate Thousand-Eyes. "My Thousand-Eyes Clan are the battle-generals of the Undying Clan! Unmatched in bravery! If you humans dare to harm me, my clan’s warriors will one day flatten every inch of this land!"
Archie let out a snort of laughter. "The strongest warriors of your Thousand-Eyes Clan all died at the hands of the Cross family’s soldiers from the Ancient Star Nation. And you still have the gall to brag."
"Every member of my Thousand-Eyes Clan is a brave and skilled fighter! How could we have been defeated if we hadn’t run into the Cross family’s army? The guardian warriors of the Star Universe Sector and the Cloud Universe Sector are no match for us whatsoever!
Besides, I heard the Cross family’s genius warrior, the one they called a War God, died in a previous battle. In recent years, my Thousand-Eyes Clan has held the advantage in our fights. This paltry native human planet... Hmph, it’s not even worth mentioning!"
"BWAHAHAHA! I have to say, General Cross, you’re alive and well right here, and yet everyone else thinks you’re dead."
The cave suddenly fell silent. Thousand-Eyes, who had just been so bold and boisterous, froze.
"Lex Cross? You’re Lex Cross? Impossible! My clan elders said you were assassinated! You can’t possibly be alive!"
Upon hearing Thousand-Eyes’s words, Lex Cross’s expression grew darker and darker. "Speak. How did your people know I was ambushed?"
The black, devouring power seeped into Thousand-Eyes’s flesh and blood. The sensation of losing control over his own life, even his own breath, made Thousand-Eyes—for the first time in his long existence—feel true fear.
"I... I... a confidant of one of my clan’s elders said it!"
"Which of your clan’s elders? And who is this confidant?"
"..." Only then did Thousand-Eyes realize his slip of the tongue. "Are... are you really... *that* one from the Cross family?"
"I’m giving you one last chance. Which elder? Which confidant? Who is the Thousand-Eyes Clan’s spy in my Ancient Star Nation!"
"..." Thousand-Eyes trembled uncontrollably. He suddenly realized that he was doomed. He couldn’t return to his space; the black energy coursing through his body had severed all connection to it.
He had accidentally revealed that the Thousand-Eyes Clan had a spy in the Ancient Star Nation’s army, and this Lex Cross before him had seized on it as leverage.
’If I play stubborn and say nothing, this military general from the Ancient Star Nation will never let me go. Besides, that person was the one who spread the news of Lex Cross’s death. Now here he is, not dead at all, catching me completely off guard on some backwater native planet.’
’It seems that person in the Ancient Star Nation, and the elders in my own clan, must not know that Lex Cross is still alive.’
