The flight attendant quickly went to fetch a blanket for Long Hui. When she returned and handed it to him with a bright, welcoming smile, Long Hui did not even cast a single glance in her direction.
"Thank you." Long Hui said coolly, taking the blanket directly from her hands.
He then leaned over and carefully spread the blanket over Yu Qi, who had already drifted off into a deep, peaceful sleep. His expression softened completely, turning immensely gentle and careful, as though he were handling the most precious, fragile treasure in the world.
It was only then that the flight attendant finally realised there was another person sitting right beside the striking man. She recalled that there were indeed two passengers listed on the manifest for this flight. So, the second passenger was a woman. "I... I was not staring!" The first flight attendant’s face instantly flushed a bright, embarrassed red.
"You have been standing here like a statue for way too long." The second flight attendant stated.
"I was just..." The first flight attendant could not help but dart another quick, admiring glance back toward Long Hui.
The first flight attendant let out a quiet sigh and shook her head. "Don’t even bother. He is already deeply engaged."
"What?" The first flight attendant froze, thoroughly stunned.
Her colleague made a subtle gesture toward Yu Qi, who was sleeping so peacefully and soundly under the cozy blanket.
"That woman right there is his fiancée." The first flight attendant stated.
The flight attendant’s eyes widened in sheer realisation. She looked at Yu Qi’s delicate silhouette before turning her gaze back to Long Hui’s distant, handsome face. In an instant, a wave of intense embarrassment washed over her.
"Oh..." The first flight attendant finally understood why the handsome man had not given her even a fraction of a second glance.
His entire focus, heart, and attention were completely consumed by the woman sitting right beside him.
"Now you know. Let’s go." The second flight attendant said.
"Right, yes." The first flight attendant nodded vigorously.
She immediately turned around and followed her colleague back toward the galley, steering completely clear of the passenger section.
Meanwhile, Long Hui had not paid a single shred of attention to their quiet exchange. His gaze remained fixed affectionately on Yu Qi’s serene face for a few moments longer before he reached out and gently tucked the edges of the blanket around her shoulders once more. After ensuring that she was as comfortable and warm as possible, he finally leaned back against his own seat, resting his head.
After sleeping peacefully for three whole hours, Yu Qi finally opened her eyes. She let out a small yawn and turned her head to glance at Long Hui. He was still resting quietly beside her, looking completely relaxed in his sleep.
Yu Qi slowly rose from her seat, intending to head to the restroom. However, just as she was about to step past Long Hui’s chair, she suddenly felt a firm, warm hand catch her wrist.
"Where are you heading off to?" Long Hui asked softly, his voice low and raspy as if he had only just woken up.
"I am just going to use the restroom." Yu Qi replied with a gentle smile.
"Oh..." Long Hui murmured, his grip loosening as he let go of her hand.
Yu Qi made her way to the lavatory. After spending a few minutes inside freshening up, she opened the door to step out, only to be caught completely off guard by the sight of Long Hui standing right outside in the narrow corridor.
"Do you need to use the bathroom as well?" Yu Qi asked, tilting her head slightly.
"Mhm..." Long Hui nodded quietly.
Yu Qi stepped to the side to give him room to pass. She then strolled back to her place and settled comfortably into her seat.
Once seated, she signalled for the flight attendant.
The exact same flight attendant who had been secretly admiring Long Hui earlier hurried over right away.
"Yes, Miss? How may I help you?" the flight attendant asked attentively.
"Please serve us lunch now." Yu Qi made the request politely.
"Certainly, Miss. I will bring your meals out right away." The flight attendant bowed her head slightly before turning to fetch the tray.
Not long after, Long Hui returned to his seat and sat back down beside her.
