"To Shenxie Research Centre." Yu Qi replied.
"Are there bad guys there?" Xiaohua’s eyes lit up.
"We don’t know yet." Yu Qi smiled.
"Then let’s find out!" Xiaohua immediately clenched her tiny fist.
"This little one really likes trouble." Long Hui shook his head helplessly.
"Of course!" Xiaohua proudly declared. "How else can I help Master?"
"Alright. Let’s go." Yu Qi laughed softly.
"But we need to disguise ourselves later." Yu Qi said.
"No problem, Master." Xiaohua saluted Yu Qi.
Yu Qi asked Aoi to activate invisible mode on Xiaohua and Xiaoliu, which would keep them concealed until they safely entered the car.
However, just as they were about to head out, Neko-chan suddenly popped up on Yu Qi’s phone screen.
"Master! Wait!" Neko-chan called out urgently.
Yu Qi stopped in her tracks. She took out her phone and looked at it.
"What happened?" Yu Qi asked.
"I found something," Neko-chan said, her digital face turning unusually serious.
Yu Qi and Long Hui immediately exchanged a sharp glance.
"What did you find?" Yu Qi asked.
"There is a direct connection between the Shenxie Research Centre and the MicroTech Organisation." Neko-chan stated gravely.
"What is it?" Yu Qi asked, leaning in closer.
"Hector Vaughn came to the Shenxie Research Centre three years ago for a joint cooperation project. It seems that they began working together behind the scenes right after that." Neko-chan explained.
"I see. So that anonymous tip might actually be real." Yu Qi stated, exchanging a knowing glance with Long Hui.
"Neko-chan, try to dig deeper into the details of that cooperation. We are going to visit the Shenxie Research Centre ourselves right now to investigate further." Yu Qi turned back to her device and gave Neko-chan her instructions.
"Yes, Master! I will do it." Neko-chan saluted Yu Qi cheerfully from the phone screen before disappearing.
The couple then left the penthouse. Once they drove out of the building’s underground parking lot, Yu Qi instructed Aoi to deactivate the invisible mode on Xiaohua and Xiaoliu. Sitting in the car, Yu Qi immediately adjusted her facial features to disguise her identity, and Long Hui smoothly did the same.
She also instructed Xiaohua and Xiaoliu to alter their physical appearances. Xiaohua carefully observed Yu Qi’s newly disguised face and modelled her own features after her. Xiaoliu followed suit without hesitation. By the time they finished, both of them shared striking facial similarities with Yu Qi. If anyone were to look at them right now, they would immediately assume they were a pair of fraternal twins who happened to inherit their mother’s distinctive looks.
After an hour of driving, they finally arrived at their destination, pulling into the spacious public parking lot right in front of the Shenxie Research Centre. A handful of other visitors were already gathering near the entrance, clearly there for the weekend public tour.
Yu Qi walked over to the front desk to inquire about the visitor process.
"Excuse me." Yu Qi called out softly.
"Yes, Madam! How can I help you and your family today?" The receptionist asked, offering a bright, professional smile.
"My husband and I brought our twins along today. Do we need to pay an entrance fee? If so, how much will it cost for the four of us?" Yu Qi asked naturally.
"Yes, there is a general entrance fee for the guided tour. May I ask how old the little ones are?" The receptionist asked, glancing fondly at Xiaohua and Xiaoliu.
"They are five years old." Yu Qi answered smoothly.
"Oh, I see! Since they are under six years old, they can enter completely for free." The receptionist explained kindly.
